Not quite. We had Mike who ran the Phenoms fantasy football website.  Effectively stole several hundred thousand that should have been held in league escrow for payouts.  Instead he supposedly 'invested' over $300k in expenses for his website including a major software upgrade and then amazingly has little money left to pay league winners and had to file bankruptcy.  Impacted several leagues here.

I had forgotten all about that. I think I spent a  straight hour reading through that thread.

Was it ever resolved? Didn't someone file a fraud claim with the Secretary of state from the state he was based in?

He went through bankruptcy.  Never heard if any charges ever came about.

There is no restitution in bankruptcy.  There would have to had to have civil actions but with him in bankruptcy it was a waste of time to pursue.

IMO, it really is the gold standard for threads in the FFA. So many twists and turns. It had some great internet sleuthing, ebay auctions, fowl references, and more totally unrelated things. This thread made me join Twitch just to see the infamous @hagmania fundraiser. To this day, I haven’t logged into twitch again, but I still have the app on my phone and it reminds me of this thread every time i see it.

And the best part of the whole thing is the ongoing  @Sinn Fein schtick!

 
I never saw this thread and read thru the first two pages and the first couple pages post election. For anyone need needing to catch up it only takes about 3 pages to see that Cstu very clearly lists the bets he intended to make then lost. They are pretty clearly not “joke bets.”

thanks.  I assume he has seen it, but i want to make certain.  we can put this whole thing to bed with a few lines of sincere contrition.  everyone makes mistakes.  few spend years hiding from them and then aggressively denying them, but I can look past that!  let's get cstu back in time for the 2020 election imo.

 
He really did not think through his re-emergence well. It was all a joke after 3 years was weak.  These would all have been better:

I’ve been working 24/7/365 on the Epstein Case. 

I’m in witness protection for things I know about Putin.

I was a Kavanaugh drinking buddy in prep school.  I made millions to lay low. 

I’ve been in a mental institution since having a breakdown on 11/9/16.  I’ve had no access to the outside world. 

I left the US due to Trump’s victory and now live in a cabin above the arctic circle.  I just popped on my parents computer because I was back in the country for Thanksgiving.  

I spent your winnings funding my Antifa cell. 

One of you guys that say are owed money is a hacker and crashed all my computer accounts out of spite a few days after the election. 

I was abducted by aliens.

Agree with @Peyton Marino on all counts:

1) Why is this in the PSF? @Maurile Tremblay, can we move this back to the FFA where it belongs? 

2) @cstu, donate my joke winnings to Big Bottom's charity (I have been on a hiatus this year, but I received mail from him a few weeks back, one of the things that reminded me to stop on in)... Redeem yourself. 

3) I respect the joke bet as well, props bruh!

For a guy who talked about alpha male, yada yada yada, the behavior is quite the opposite. We know you read it 3 years ago, we know you're reading it today.

Really curious as to why he popped back in as well. 

I'm not buying the wrong device accidental login theory. 

My suspicion is that the conversations on Slick Deals, Amazon Reviews, and Yahoo comments section were starting to fall flat. With the election less than 12 months away combined with his obsession about Trump, he wanted to throw a feeler out there, see if he could slowly slide back in after 3 years. The environment is perfect for a Trump hater and he wants back in for the election cycle. When that thought process was instantly debunked, he turned and left. Until he explains otherwise, I stick with my theory. I also suspect he will be gone again, although I hope not as I would love an explanation.

This makes sense to me, too.  Decided to test the waters, instantly found out the FFA does not forget, dropped a couple of trolling posts and we won't hear from him again.

It's Thanksgiving week.  My guess is he went to a relatives house for the holiday and fired up the forums, not realizing that he had saved his login information when he posted.

 
I seriously don't get why he couldn't just come in as an alias.  People troll the PSF constantly with new alias, it would have blended right in after all this time.  

The fact that he came in hot with his regular IP addy is beyond strange.

I was owed around 8k from that d o u c h e, I still have the paper work somewhere. Quite a few of us here were taken and no one got anything.
