***Official Game Thread*** - Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints (1 Viewer)

What an embarrassment for the NFL. Absolutely horrible officiating decides the game. I didn't have a strong feeling one way or another, but this is really sad. A terrific game ruined by really bad officiating.
:goodposting: While it was a questionable call...there have been far worse...and the game was not necessarily "decided" on that call. How about the 6 fumbles and 2 INTs?
Both teams were tripping over chances. Both teams made big plays. It was a pretty even game, really. That was a game-changing flag, and not one of those where you watch it five times in slow motion and determine it was wrong. Watching it live I couldn't believe my eyes--that ball wasn't even remotely catchable.

Farve, this is your fault.
Chillys fault. 40 seconds left and you run 2 running plays and settle for a 51 yard field goal? Then you have 12 guys in the huddle?Chilly is a JOKE!
:goodposting: If they just played a normal 2-minute offense instead of hoping to kick a 50 yard field goal then I think it would have been a different outcome. The 12 guys in the huddle is inexcusable, too.

Love all the Bears and Packers fans in here cheering for Brett losing when their team didn't even sniff the NFCCG.
Seems like you have quite a few fans of other teams doing the same thing. :goodposting: BTW...Im cheering for the Vikings being done...as I did when they blew it against Atlanta. Why? Because Im a Packer fan and don't like the Vikings. And I love that Vikings fans are whining about this...when they were doing the exact same thing 2 years ago...

Wow, i got no dog in the fight but the OT officiating was terrible.

-Kick-off return, Viking got tackled blowing open that huge hole

-A couple of really questionable spots

-The PI penalty was ridiculous

-Meachams pass hit the ground, no question.

But on the upside, no more Favre!!!
The entire officiating crew should be fired tonight. I'm kind of glad to see the Saints make the Super Bowl, but I would have preferred to see them win it rather than have it handed to them by bad officiating. Such a great, close game should be decided by the play on the field.

Just saw the PI again on ESPN. Truly awful call.
Was it really? In the nFL does it matter if it was a catchable ball? Seriously, you can't just plow a guy over while the ball is in the air. I've seen plenty of PI calls even when the ball was thrown to someone else. :goodposting:
You think he got plowed over? He knew he couldn't catch it and hurled himself backwards.
Textbook example of drawing a charging call.

:ptts:
Exactly. Pack fans wish he was still playing for them. Instead they get bounced in the first round of the playoffs if they even make it.
I disagree...many Pack fans...this one included is happy with Aaron Rodgers.I do wish he would have played for the Packers from about 2002-2006 like he did for the Vikings this year.

That was the killer. And it came right after a timeout! How can a team make that mistake?

Actually, it has absolutely NOTHING to do w/ hating a winner. I actually was a big Favre fan prior to his drama queen status after 5,897 retirements and playing it up thru the media. THAT is why I lost respect for him. :ptts:
I still don't get it. He's one of those guys who they are gonna have to tear the jersey off his back at the end. He's tried to walk away and can't give it up. The guy loves competition and gives it his all. At 40 years old with his accomplishments he has nothing to prove. If I were blessed enough to have the ability to play at a professional level I'd likely feel the same way and want to play as long as someone would have me.
You really don't get it? Seriously?
Afraid not. I would love to be able to play one more meaningful game and I never played above high school. Some people can walk away before a significant decline, Robert Smith and Barry Sanders come to mind. Brett Favre can't seem to live without football. If you want to hate him for it and the success he's had then so be it. Again, if you think Tavaris Jackson takes this team to the NFC Championship game then say so. If not, then how can you criticize him playing?

Gratz to the Saints on getting to the SB. You'll have to play a lot better to beat which could have been the undefeated Colts. Let the 2 weeks of hype begin.
You know, I think a lot of people are making a lot of assumptions here. The Bills were tied with the Colts even before Indy pulled their starters. So really, Buffalo had a legit shot at derailing the 16-0 season anyway. :ptts:

HA HA BRETT! Hope you have a good retirement/unretirement offseason. :ptts:
There will be lots of super bowl spotlight stealing, as always. So it goes.GB Tom Benson. Sounds like he's right out of The Waterboy. Geaux Saints. You suck by ignoring the music of your city though.

:ptts:If he had stayed with the Jets I'd be rooting for him. He went to Minn for one thing, to stick it to the Packersm thus sticking to the Packer fans.Go home Brent.
Good point. It must feel good to have the Packers still playing while Brett is going home. Oh wait....

Congrats, Saints fans! Five turnovers (and a couple additional fumbles) on the road = a long off-season to think. Enjoy the moment...and take care of business in Miami in a couple weeks... :ptts:

Lots of calls went the other way to get it to OT.Agreed on the bad reffing, though.

It might have taken 20 weeks, but the Favre Packer fans were warning the Viking fans about finally showed up.

1) I do not hate Favre for his success.2) There is zero doubt that he had possibly his greatest season of his career this year and was incredible.3) The way he has handled himself and his situation the last handful of years is what I, and many others, detest, and he feels he's bigger and more important than any team. THAT is what I have a problem with. How do you not understand this?

No. We have our QB of the future. Now if we didn't have Rodgers, then it's a different story. Still, you don't go to your arch rival....

Vikings are 8-8 this year with Tavaris Jacksonfels.
Absolutely zero argument w/ this. Favre was incredible this season, but that doesn't make him less of a drama queen and made a lot of his fans (myself included) kinda detest the guy.
I have an argument with it.They lost Birk...and little else. They had an easier schedule than in 2008. Added Harvin...Rice healthy all year. And they went 10-6 last year.Im not saying they get to this point or do all they did this year...but I won't say 8-8.Doing so...IMO...totally takes away from the amount of talent on that team.

I wouldn't be rooting for him but I definitely wouldn't be rooting with everything I had against him. I'd probably be fairly indifferent. Obviously, I can't stand the Pack, but even I was disgusted with this entire revenge fiasco. BYE BYE BITTER BRETT.

I understand this. But yet the Vikings signed him so obviously they felt differently. I'd say the evidence is he made their team better, which is what his job was.

I think the last time 2 number 1 seeds faced off was the Bills and the Cowboys? BTW- good to see Drew Brees in the SB- class act. Good luck to the Saints and the Colts. Should be a great game with The Who supplying the half time jams!

last I checked the Packers and Vikings are both done playing. :lmao:
