yeah I wish the split screen was left to right instead of up and down. I won't be on till probably 8 pst tonight as I have alot of stuff to do, then again I'll probably be on from 230-430 pst also. :banned:
Up/Down? Yuck.I don't think they should split the screen if you're playing co-op online.

I'm not sure if they do.

I was playing with my BIL on the same system and haven't tried online co-op yet. He's getting a 360 after last night, though, so that might be the last time I have to put up with it.

Oh, good. I was going to be pissed if I had to deal with it playing online co-op.

Is that during co-op campaign? I haven't even played campaign yet.
Yes, it's on the campaign (co-op mode).Fear the Berserker.FYI ... it looks like One is going to be the first FBG to complete the campaign. He's on ACT 3 right now playing on hardcore.
I can't get past the first encounter with the Berserker on casual. Tried for about an hour. Kills me with about 2 minutes every time. I just can't figure out what to do, where to go, or how to get there. :bag:

question about gold pass?

can i do all this online? or do i need to go get one of those gold passes i saw at BB? i plan on getting it, but don't know if i need to get something physical from the store or just do it from home?

I am seriously considering cancelling everything I have to do after work and half a 9 hour GoW shift.

i cant stop thinking about the damn game. im a :nerd:

Just thought I would share with the group my justification for picking this up yesterday.

Now, $500 bones is a lot of money for anyone to throw down, particularly on something like a video game.

That said, I figured out a way to justify it.

Lately, I've been spending far too much time in bars. The downside is that (1) you spend a lot of money (my bar tab is $40-$50 on an average night, but can exceed that significantly), (2) you are drinking beer and eating bar food, which means you are only getting fatter and destroying your new health kick, and (3) hangovers suck -- you feel like hell and they screw with your work.

Financially, buying this thing made total sense. There are plenty of nights where I end up out drinking just because I really have nothing else going on. Now, given other options, (for example, heading home to play some :nerd: game), I might otherwise do that instead. So, if there are just 8-10 nights over the course of the next year where I am on the fence about going out and instead just go home to take it easy and play some XBOX, this entire thing has basically paid for itself -- and I have the added health benefits that come with it (including the decreased risk of STDs when sitting home along being a :nerd: versus being out on the town :banned: and :wolf: .

So all in all, it's win-win. For those other bachelors out there who are on the fence, just do it. It is well worth the price of admission.

How long until we see (1) online GOW clans and (2) GOW leagues?

That was when my :nerd: really peaked in Counterstrike back in my PC gaming days -- sitting in my clan chat room before clan practice, then having practice, and working on our strategy for the OGL (online gaming league) match the following night (actually, sad to see that http://www.ogl.com/ is down -- used to be a wonderful, wonderful place).

God, what a loser :bag:

Not sure this will help your health but anyway here's my situation.I've been debating with myself about taking the dive to xbox. My wife and I currently have the N64 so you know where I'm comming from. Questions:After I buy the xbox (local store has it on sale for $359 or $319 if you have their $25 membership card), what else do I have to do to get a username/setup. Buy the pass thing someone else mentioned? Then what?Should I hook this up to our 42" plasma or 55" rear projection big screen (old school big screen)? What is the best cable to use for hookup? Does the xbox come with this cable? What other gear is requiered for the full effect of this game?Any other help is appreciated.

first off... you need to buy the premium system. the core is a waste of money (no Hard Drive among other things)second buy GoWthird buy xbox live 12 month gold subscription cardthe 360 comes with vga cables which are decent, you can add component cables i believe to get the true HD look.. id go with the old school RP as its bigger and will probably show the game off just as well as the plasma

You won't get High Def on the old TV though? And I think that is a big difference. The system comes with component cables and composite in the box.

Mine did.
As did mine. Straight from the Best Buy page:Xbox 360 System includes console, hard drive, wireless controller, headset, Ethernet cable and component HDAV cable (for both standard and HDTVs)

$319 is for the premium system. $399reg - $40 mail in rebate - $40 club card discount (which I would have to spend $25 to get so I'd be paying $344.

WOWI'm in. :bag:
It was seriously the most fun gaming experience ever. There were hundreds of clans involved in these leagues (there were actually three, OGL was the big one, and there was also TFL and one other, I forget the name). There were standings, and you had weekly matches. We were the #1 ranked team at one point :bag: But it was seriously so fun. I'm surprised it isn't still around, but I wouldn't be surprised to see this same sort of phenomenon if GOW ends up being big.

We did this with GRAW... I think on gamebattles.com.And personally it took away from the game for me, it was more work than fun. I can't get on everynight and having to schedule to play is tough. I guess I'm a little more casual so I can't spend countless time perfecting the techniques and stuff. I can see how it would be fun but when we tried it became work

I think CAL is the big CS league now, there are a bunch of divisions.Oh, and if you are looking for a GOW ladder, check out gamebattles.com. I've played on their socom ladders since Socom 1 a few years ago.

That's right, CAL was the other big one. It was considered the most competitive -- most of the good clans were in several leagues though. It was amazing how much strategy and gameplanning went into this stuff. And communication was always so key.

Edited to add: And the way the adrenline flows in a match is awesome. You seriously feel nervous just before a match starts.

:nerd: :nerd: :nerd: :nerd: :nerd:

This thread is breaking down several years worth of shtick that I've worked hard to build up. My fun-guy, woman-chasing, partygoing persona is going to be shot big time.

WOWI'm in.
I think CAL is the big CS league now, there are a bunch of divisions.

This thread is breaking down several years worth of shtick that I've worked hard to build up. My fun-guy, woman-chasing, partygoing persona is going to be shot big time.

Practice all you want #####es. My PC gaming reflexes will pVVn you all when I finally get the game.
That's what I thought. :shrugs: (owner of 2 lvl 60's on WOW)

in an unrelated note i just came across this blurb while looking at Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 (which is easily my most anticipated game of next year)

"Unlike the PlayStation 3's Bluetooth format, the Xbox 360 uses a proprietary wireless format that is licensed by Microsoft. The company's first-party wireless controllers retail for $55, and cost it about $9 to manufacture"

DAMN!

Can the online part be set up via wireless router? Do I need anything that doesn't come with the premium system?
