Tackle Tony Moll, Sr. - Mill is a converted tight end who has 11 career catches and four touchdowns. The 280-pound senior was one of the surprises of spring ball and should be able to use his athleticism to become a much needed reliable pass blocker.

moll sounds like another character guy...the trend continues

i also like the fact that the packers are going with overall talent and position flexability with a large number of their picks over specific positional need drafting

As a BC fan I can tell GB fans this: You will come to LOVE Blackmon as much as NE fans love Troy Brown. This kid just gets it done. I was hoping he fell to the Pats at 118.
 Absolute steal- this kid can play and will have a solid mentor in C-Wood.

Gil Brandt:

Undersized

Very athletic

Converted TE

Cowboys & Packers sent people to evaluate him

Moll was never going to be on the NFL radar as a tight end, but he is getting attention as a tackle now.

"I am more conservative than most, but he is definitely getting strong second-day consideration," said Jim Grogan, one of Moll's Reno-based agents. "The scouts love his feet and how well he moves and his overall athleticism. What's big for him right now is his size and strength and being able to hold that."

Moll weighed in at 310 pounds for both pro days. During the first one, he ran a 5.1 40-yard dash, an impressive time for an offensive lineman. He was bothered by a tight hamstring last week and ran a 5.27.

The Dallas Cowboys sent assistant head coach and offensive line coach Tony Sparano to Reno recently to give Moll a private workout. The tackle is set to visit Green Bay on Tuesday and he will then head to San Diego next week.

Moll, who grew up as a "die-hard 49ers fan" just outside of the Bay Area, said it was "surreal" to workout for San Francisco rival Dallas.

"The Cowboys were the first to come in and show interest and I called my parents and said 'Hey, the Cowboys are coming out,'" he said. "They were just like, 'Oh, that's great, I guess.' But I'll play for anyone. I just want my chance."

Both agents said the hardest part for their clients will be the next four weeks, which is more of a waiting game than anything else. Most NFL scouts have done the bulk of their research and will spend this month solidifying their draft boards and prioritizing needs.

"We'll learn more over the next two weeks what these guys are thinking," Grogan said.

Said Miller: "This is the big waiting game now."

 310lbs. at workouts, athletic with good feet. Being a former TE should mean he can move well. Not bad and I like the added depth to experiment with in camp.

Tyrone Culver: He is an agile, experienced defender with make it grade and the athletic ability to surprise in the right scheme. He can be a quality special teams performer and has enough tools and potential to get some notice on latter part of Day 2.

Pros: Culver is a playmaker who is instinctive and shows the athleticism of a cornerback in coverage. He is a good free safety prospect with sure tackling skills and intangibles to develop quickly as a pro. His fine instincts and coverage skills may warrant a late round selection. He has good explosion. He is reliable in the deep patrol and is seldom ever beaten. He is aggressive as a tackler and has fine intangibles. He has fine consistency and is fairly physical and tough.

Cons: He was mainly a zone free safety, but he has the athletic frame and skills that are more like a cornerback. He is not the most instinctive deep defender. His feet are good and quick, though he lacks the flex in his hips to turn easily and can lose a step coming out of his breaks. He has a tendency to play it safe and doesn’t make as many plays on the ball as you would want for a free safety. He needs to show more consistent awareness and improve his ball skills.

Numbers: Did not attend the NFL Combine. At the Fresno State pro day, he was timed at 4.63 and 4.60 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He had a 39” vertical jump and a 10’9” broad jump, a 4.35 short shuttle, and a 7.25 three-cone drill. He did 23 reps in the 225-pound bench press.

Tyrone Culver

All I can find is that he loves runs fast (4.52) and makes good violent hits. His weakness is that he only weighs 196 lbs.

DL johnny jolly looks like the first guy ted thompson has drafted who has a questionable motor

DB tyrone culver dropped in the draft for what reason...he sounds like a steal at this point to me. free safety looks to be his spot in the secondary

Strengths:

Pretty good athlete...Physical and will help versus the run...A playmaker who has a knack for coming through in the clutch...Very smart both on and off the field...A hard worker with premier intangibles...A very consistent and reliable performer.

Weaknesses:

Does not have great timed speed...Instincts are below average...Is built more like a cornerback...Does not have fluid hips and is slow out of his breaks...Can be too conservative at times...Range is a bit limited...Might not have a very big upside.

Notes:

Wants to go to dental school...Probably doesn't have all the physical tools and measurables you look for in a prospect...The type who does everything well but nothing great...Might never be a star but could be a solid backup at the pro level

Sounds like another character guy who can contribute on ST play, potentially more in the future.

I agree with Big Score, they did a good job to turn one pick into five. And from what it looks like atleast two should turn out pretty decent.

I have to say that this has been one of the better drafts in awhile by the Packers in my opinion.

I am stoked about the quality and quantity of players tha TT has brought in. This kind of draft should have a long tearm imact. Green Bay's depth is a ton better that it was a couple of days ago. Team depth will continue to improve with another late pick, some undrafted FAs, and some possible June 1 signings.

TT kick Sherman's ### when it comes to managing the draft.

Have a Johnny Jolley draft pick

It's the draft time of the year

Well I don't know... if he'll blow

But have a mug of beer

Nice draft Packer fans!

Certainly better than the Bears.. :bag:

Dang I really wanted them to pick Greg Eslinger. He would be such a good fit for the system
There is still a chance...
29 198 Denver Eslinger, Greg C 6-3 291 Minnesota Steal for Denver and a perfect fit, IMO.
That is a prefect fit and losing Flannagan I thought we woudl be a perfect fit since I think we are going to move of that kind of blocking system. O well

Last Pick

Tollefson, Dave - DE 6'4" - 255 lbs

The 2005 MIAA Most Valuable Defensive Player

Tollefson was a consensus All-American first-team selection, adding All-MIAA first-team and Defensive MVP honors in 2005. He was a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award (Division II's top lineman) and set a school season-record with 12.5 sacks. He added 58 tackles (38 solos) with 16.5 stops for losses and five pressures. He also caused a fumble, blocked one kick and deflected four passes.

In 26 games at Northwest Missouri, he posted 106 tackles (47 solos) and ranks second in school history with 21 sacks for minus 129 yards. He added 29.5 stops for losses of 151 yards, five pressures and six pass break-ups. He caused two fumbles, recovered another and blocked one kick.

Kiper Jr. liked day 1...didn't like day 2. His analysis:

Green Bay Packers: Grade B

The Packers had a lot of picks (12) and definitely some reaches. Linebacker A.J. Hawk will give the Packers a much-needed face on defense. Offensive tackle Daryn Colledge needs to get stronger and become a better run blocker. I really like wide receiver Greg Jennings, linebacker Abdul Hodge and and Jason Spitz. I gave Green Bay an A after the first day. Will Blackmon was both a wide receiver and cornerback at Boston Collge, but reportedly will get a chance to play corner initially.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
B was the highest grade given on that page... and like 8 teams got it...that grading page was a joke...

Seeing Chad Jackson cut today reminded me of the now-hilarious comments made on page 2 of this thread (not going to single anyone out, as its all in fun) - when the genius Bellichick apparently schooled Ted Thompson (who drafted starters Gregg Jennings and Jason Spitz with the two picks he got from NE). Of course hindsight is 20/20, but this stuff is always fun.
