A rough Heroes timeline...

Future Hiro teleports into subway to Present Peter to save Claire.. Future Hiro returns to future.

Haitian wipes HRG memory, Claire goes into hiding

Present Hiro teleports to future

Timeline I

Sylar kills Candice, and later Nathan. Sylar assumes Nathan's identity.

Peter explodes, regenerates

Nathan (Sylar) wins Presidency, announces there are "special" people, initiates Lindeman Legislation that bags bad guys, tags/neuters good guys

HRG finds Claire, relocates her to Odessa

Hiro is unaware that Peter did in fact save Claire because she's been in hiding. Hiro tries multiple times to prevent explosion but cannot.

Sylar & Peter fight (which sounded like Peter won).

Future Hiro tells Present Hiro to kill Sylar.

Timeline IIHiro returns to present and kills Sylar.

Peter still explodes, regenerates

Real Nathan wins Presidency but doesn't institute Lindeman Legislation

In the end, everything Isaac paints comes true.
Why do you think that Syler killed Nathan before he became president? nathan was thinking of following Linderman's plan so Syler might have waited until after the presidency.HRG relocated Clair to Midlan, TX not Oddessa

Dont know if it was confirmed yet but watching the show again on NBC.com near the end of Part 4 when Parkman turns on HRG... just before they switch over the Claire it sounds like a gunshot goes off. Question is did Parkman kill HRG? HRG sounds like he quietly says "no" but that could be in reference to Parkman finding out where Claire is too.
I took the "no" to mean Parkman probing HRG's mind to find Claire's location. Then he shows up at her diner and takes her to Nathan/Sylar. Didn't see much to question with that scene.
What about the "gunshot" sound? HRG = dead, or no?
Once Parkman decided to out Claire, he had to kill HRG. Otherwise, HRG would out Parkman's wife & son.

There are 4 factions here, so to speak:

1) The Linderman Group: This includes the Hatian, the shapeshifter, Hiro's Dad, Peter's Mom, Nikki, and now Nathan. Parkman is/was in their group in the future episode. HRG left this group after claire was "outed"

2) The Good Guys: Peter, Hiro, Suresh, and Ando.

3) The HRG group: This is HRG, The radioactive caveman, The israeli, and Parkman (in the present)

4) Sylar.

Claire moves along all of these groups. DL/Micah don't belong to any of them, and Nikki may be moving into the Good guys after the abduction of Micah.

The Hatian seems to have directionality to his power, as well as a field of protection.
Are we sure that the Hatian and Peter's Mom are working with the Linderman group? I assumed that the Hatian isn't really good or bad but he is loyal to the Petrelli family...He's protecting Claire now and during the 5 years into the future timeline, he's working for Nathan (at least he believes it's Nathan). Peter's mom appears to have her own agenda (separate from the Linderman Group). That's why she wants to take Clarie to France and get her away from Eric Roberts.

:banned: I'm going to pretty much guarantee that this season doesn't end with NYC being blown up.

My DVR stopped recording right after Sylar & Peter charged at each other with their glowing fists. What happened after that?

Cut to Ando convincing Hiro that he can teleport them back to the present. While Suresh fights to keep the bad guys out of the room, Hiro teleports himself and Ando back to the present. Once there, he looks at his sword and says "Now the hard part begins."

I may be a little off in my timeline.. I'm not calling it gospel. Bucky's probably right with NY not blowing up, but we'll see.

One thing that's been bugging me is that when Hiro first teleports to NY, Isaac was frozen and lobotomized by Sylar. But last week, Sylar "crucified" Isaac and showed no sign of the freezing ability.

I'm still confused where the freezing comes from. I'm guessing it's Molly and that's how they'll kill Sylar, but he never found her under the stairs.

Not to hijack but they are basically the same thing and usually referred to as "Midland-Odessa"

Sylar currently has the freezing ability, it's not from a future kill.

But we've never seen him use it, or where it came from. Are we to assume he's been picking up powers all along? Even if the TV show didn't show it, I would think the comics would have touched on additional kills.

We haven't seen him use it, but we've seen the effects when he took out the little girl's parents early on.

I have to say that I thought that might have been the best episode so far. Just freaking awesome. We should have seen the Nathan/Sylar thing coming from the paintings. I wonder if Sylar got the idea to take over Nathan from Isaac's painting which showed that Nathan would become President.

By the way, I think I can answer the change in Isaac's death from Sylar. The first one was before saving Claire. The one we just saw was part of timeline 2 which we now appear to be in. The first one was before future Hiro came back with the save the cheerleader save the world bit. We are about to be or are in timeline 3 now because of Hiro's visit to the future.

In the TV show, the FBI references him freezing his victims. He displayed the freezing power in one of the comics.

 The dad was frozen and beheaded, so I would think that means that Sylar froze him and then cut off his head. I would also assume that Molly's power is not freezing just because she was hiding from Sylar and probably not in the fight. She might not even realize what her power is at this point. I could be wrong, but I don't think Molly froze her dad and Sylar would not have been able to get her power if he couldn't find her.I don't feel like searching way back in this thread, but I am glad that the little girl has come back into play. I posted that it seemed like Sylar must have known she was important since he went back to get her at the police/FBI location. I would have been a little miffed if they didn't go back to her, because there would have been no point to that scene. It is pretty cool that she will now be important.

Specifically, he uses it to freeze the road in the comic "Chapter 20 - ROAD KILL".

Any ideas as to what the Linderman Legislation is?
i would guess an act to outlaw special people
Didn't nathan say they limited them from "breeding"?
good catch!, he definately mentioned this
There have been a couple of posts about a little girl. Was this shown in the previews? My TiVo cut out just as the episode ended, so I did not see any previews.Anything else good shown in the previews?
It showed the little girl, and it showed Sylar apparently time frozen by Hiro. He was motionless as Hiro was getting ready to stab him or cut him with the sword. As Hiro got close to Sylar from Behind left Sylars eye moved to look at Hiro.
maybe its the little girl that has the ice/ freezing power that we see sylar with in the future.maybe she got scared and used itwe don't see sylar use the cold ability at all until the battle 5 years in the future with Peter
Cold ability? When was this? Are you talking about when his hands turned blue? I assumed it was from Ted, Ted's hand looked just like that when he generated the EMP "bomb" breaking Bennet and Matt out of Primetech paper.

The simple solution to all of this is to bring the Hatian is where Sylar is. Bring a gun... bang... Sylar gone.
Not sure the Hatian could stop Sylar from using all his powers. He could fly away.
How?
I do not think that the Hatian renders all powers ineffective.
Nathan flew away from HRG and the Hatian, in Vegas, right?
I don't think that Bennet or the Hatian knew Nathan had powers. The Hatian has to use his power to inhibit other's power.

Ah, ok. Good call.

Obviously we haven't seen what the little girl can do yet, but I was reminded of the appearance of the Elizabeth the Star Child from the "V" miniseries.

Yeah this is what I was thinking, but you're probably right. Peter gets the nuke power from Ted via his sponge ability, Sylar gets the EMP power from killing Ted.

Syler's hands were blue because he has the freezing ability. I don't think he has the nuclear ability. I think only Ted and Peter have that. I think we have the classic good guy bad guy thing here. Good guy has the fire/radiation thing and bad guy has freezing power. Peter's hands turn red/orange, Syler's turn blue. It's the whole yen/yang thing. They are opposites but equal. One is the dark and one is the light.

Think about it. If they both had Ted's ability they couldn't hurt each other because they would be immune to each other's damage

They may not realize it, but to be honest his hands looked just like Ted's did when he generated the EMP. Also, there is no proof that Ted is alive in the future battle, very plausible Sylar got him. And don't forget any power Sylar has, Peter gets each time they face off.

Sylar must have gooten to Ted before Peter explodes. How else could Nathan try to sell the line that it was Sylar that exploded and not Peter.

I think that if you got so far as to acually convince the public it was an exploding man that caused the devastation, it wouldnt matter what name you gave them.

But even the few people that would actually know what was going on should have known. Parkman, HRG, Hiro, Haitian, Mohinder in the future were buying that Sylar exploded

Because that was never Nathan. It was Sylar all along. Who better to blame than your old persona, while you're charading as the Prez?

Because that was never Nathan. It was Sylar all along. Who better to blame than your old persona, while you're charading as the Prez?
All along since when? Are you claiming that Sylar is already Nathan? The bomb goes off in a few days. Sylar still doesn't have the ability to change his appearance.

When Nathan blames the bomb on Sylar, Sylar has already taken Nathan's identity and is covering his tracks. If you blew up in nuclear blast, no one would be looking for you.

This is of course in the timeline where Sylar kills Claire. As it stands now, it appears to me that Sylar was able to evade the exploding Peter via flight or other power as Sylar does not have the power to regenerate... yet.Timeline 1, to me, was changed when Peter saves Claire.Timeline 2, to me, is what we saw in the last show.Timeline 3, to me, is what will happen when Hiro kills Sylar... if he is able to.

I disagree. There was an alternate timeline 1 that was changed when Hiro went back in time to spur Peter to save Claire, in both timelines 1 & 2 NYC is destroyed.

Timeline 2, to me, is what we saw in the last show.

Timeline 3, to me, is what will happen when Hiro kills Sylar... if he is able to.
 :wall: :wall: This is the same friggin timeline. Why are so many people getting confused by this. We never saw the timeline where Sylar killed Claire.
Just because we didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. When Hiro of the Future finds Peter in the subway, Hiro is from a timeline where Claire didn't get saved.

Because that was never Nathan. It was Sylar all along. Who better to blame than your old persona, while you're charading as the Prez?
All along since when? Are you claiming that Sylar is already Nathan? The bomb goes off in a few days. Sylar still doesn't have the ability to change his appearance.

We did, but not for an extended time. The first time Hiro travels to the future, when Isaac is frozen, Sylar had killed Claire.

Just because we didn't see it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. When Hiro of the Future finds Peter in the subway, Hiro is from a timeline where Claire didn't get saved.
That future Hiro was from the last week's episode, where Claire was ALIVE after the explosion. Hiro was under the impression that if Sylar doesn't get Claires powers that he doesn't blow up, when in fact she isn't the catalyst in the event, Peter is. She is saved but the city still blows up, the confusion comes in because Hiro thought that Sylar blew up. That was a lie purported by Nathan/Sylar that it was Sylar when it really was Peter. I stand by my statement that Peter must die so that NYC doesn't blow up. So far ALL of Issac's paintings have come to pass, and he always had Peter blowing up not Sylar.

Timeline 1 = Sylar killing Claire with the result that he blows up New York and, most likely, kills Peter as well. In this timeline Peter never meets Claire, and thus never gets the regen power. So, Sylar eliminates, exterminates his competition.Timeline 2 = Peter saves Claire, with Future Hiro's help, and gets the regen power. Sylar does not have it until 5 years later which we saw last episode. The bomb still goes off because past Hiro does not kill Sylar. Future Hiro, as we saw, believes that this moment is the one that will stop the bomb. (Little does he know it was actually Peter, because he can regen himself, that blows up New York) Future Sylar escapes somehow, most likely through flight although that is still up in the air but he does not die via the bomb.

Timeline 3 = What we will see now because past Hiro was not supposed to go into the future... in theory. Now, when past Hiro goes back to present time he knows he must defeat Sylar and in his mind will stop the bomb. At the same time it will most likely save Nathan from being killed if the other timelines ring true. The fate of DL and Micah is unknown though per this timeline. If things hold true that Peter is to still blow up New York even with Sylar dead, per Hiro, then it will be Peter who is looked at as the bad guy instead of Sylar. This leaves Nathan and his political career up in arms for now.

Through it all there is a paradox. Peter needs to kill Sylar or at least prevent him from being able to regen because Sylar is the bad of bad. He is wanting to go about the world in an evil way. However, when Hiro does this he is, in theory, taking Sylar out of the equation but at the same time he is helping Peter to develop, in a natural sense, the powers that Sylar has. No matter what Hiro does the main timeline of New York being blown up will happen. Who will do it though? Sylar or Peter?

With what we have been shown so far the attempts to get rid of Sylar are genuine although a failure. The bomb will go off because one of the two has the regen power now. Can the bomb be stopped? Can Peter be killed? More than likely, the bomb goes off but Sylar might not be alive in the future due to the past interference when meeting Claire. Peter = Sylar.

Peter is alive for at least some time after the explosion in timeline #1. When Furture Hiro first meets Peter he comments that he almost didn't recognize him without the scar.

This is it. Timeline X = Sylar blowing up New York.Timeline X+1 = Peter blowing up New York. When Hiro goes back to meet Peter in the subway he should have gone back to kill Claire instead. Neither would get the regen power by doing this. Of course this makes Hiro a killer.

True, so Peter may not have been in New York. Maybe the scar comes from Sylar using Hiro's sword. I dont see Hiro using the sword on Peter... but if Hiro knows Nathan's/Sylar's secret it could be cause for Hiro to be a little careless. We do know Sylar does not know how to time travel but we dont know if he ever tried to kill Hiro either. :lmao:

We don't know about the bolded part. We know about Timeline X+1 because they explained it in the last episode. But we always just assumed in Timeline X that it was Sylar.

I think that the writers want to avoid an easy "out" like that. They showed it when Hiro went back in time to save the waitress. He couldn't and "got punished" for trying by losing some of his abilities. I think the writers have laid down a simple rule: For future Hiro to change the past, he must get someone from that time to do it for it to have an effect. Which is why he needs past Hiro to kill Sylar. Any thoughts?

I don't think regeneration is necessary for someone to blow up the city. Its Ted's power. If anything, Hiro should've gone back and killed Ted before he met anyone.

I disagree. I think it's always Peter blowing up NY. Regardless of Claire being killed I think Sylar still becomes Nathan, Peter still blows up. One thing to remember Peter doesn't master powers right away, Sylar does at least IMO. I think the twist will be that Peter must die to save NYC.

I like it. I was under the same impression, otherwise Hiro could time travel to a point in each persons life when they are infants and kill them thus preventing NYC from ever blowing up.

I don't think we have any reason to suspect that Sylar was ever responsible for the "orginal" explosion. We don't know everything that changed between timelines 1 and 2, but it's clear that almost everyone in #2 believes Sylar caused it when we know for a fact that Peter does. In Peter's visions he has consistently been the source of the explosion. I think it was Peter in both 1 and 2, and Hiro is either on a fools errand to stop Sylar or stopping Sylar is somehow connected to stopping Peter.

I can see that being the reason. Also, who is going to kill a ~15 year old cheerleader? Probably nobody for no reason. Hiro is trying to pin point one event to stop the bomb but there are 3 people who could be the bomb. As far as we know Hiro has no idea of Radiation Man so if Hiro stops Sylar and Peter in whatever way, that leaves one man to blow up New York. And, he has threatened it before... before knowing the "truth" about things as well.

If I am remembering event correctly, Peter picks up the Radiation poison after saving Claire. He also picks it up in Texas and not his home state of New York. Why would Peter go to Texas if it was not to save Claire to begin with? Peter does not get tipped off to saving Claire unless Hiro tells him. Therefore, no Hiro intervention means Peter does not get the regen or radiation. Peter is jump some guy dreaming of flying in New York. Now, Peter could get the radiation poison at a later date before he is able to control it... thus BOOM!! in New York... but we have not seen Peter and Radia Man in the same place at all... Texas or New York.
