Actually Eden killed herself so Sylar couldnt steal her powers. Now that I think of it I think Sylar has freezing powers perhaps he stole from some other person. Remember one of the first people killed was frozen. How come we dont see Sylar actually use his freezing powers. All we see is his telekenesis.

Right. But I'm pretty sure that was a flashback. When the show opens (may have been the second episode) FBI chick is investigating a string of murders by a guy named Sylar. That's present day. When we see Sylar make his first kill of the telekinesis guy, isn't that a flashback to a time well before the killing spree?
Could have sworn he started talking in persuader voice to Claire's not-real mom before HRG busted up the door. Will have to go back and watch, but I'm almost positive he was talking like that.MO

Nah. He started getting spooky, she ran for the front door and he used his telekinetic power to knock her into the glass cabinet (or mirror). If he was using persuader powers, she wouldn't have run.
He doesn't seem shy about using his name.

But that doesn't really explain how the authorities got his name."We are looking for a crazy serial killer." sounds more likely than "we are looking for a serial killer named sylar" unless he either:a. Left some kind of calling card (which I don't see. His motive in the killings isn't to gain attention, it's to get powers)b. The FBI isn't really the FBI and it's a part of the organization HRG is involved in.

No. He was fixing a Sylar brand watch, and when he needed a psuedonym, he looked at the watch, and chose "Sylar"

I don't recall him calling him Sylar, but I do remember him saying a different name when he first met him.

He didn't kill her. She killed herself with the gun to prevent Sylar from getting her power.:EDIT: I didn't read back enough to see others posted this.
As much as I would have loved to have pegged Nathan as the father, I was expecting it to be Linderman. The unknown parent angle was too easy to pass over, and there was no prominent women who could be the mother. But there were several male characters who could be, and mysterious Lindeman would have been the easiest to write in there as the Father.

This is my feeling. She blew her brains out, no way he could figure anything out from that.
I'm not sure Sylar actually got Memory girls power as didn't Hiro go back in time and prevent that specific death. Although he did find out that whatever he did, she died anyway...
Well, Hiro didn't prevent the death, although it's possible that she could have died from the aneurysm instead of at Sylar's hands.We'll find out.
Decent episode, but Sylar figuring out that Mohinder got a call back from a guy in Virginia Beach? C'mon, please don't stretch it that far. Actually, I am glad that Sylar whacked that guy, because Mr. Melting Coffemaker Hero isn't exactly the guy you want to have your back in a fight. Maybe Micah can hotwire the ATM to shoot twenties at him and give him a paper cut. Cool powers in real life if you had them, but not much in the way of saving the world from the bad guys.Anybody got a link to the new Hero clip that they supposedly showed on Deal or No Deal?
I think it was just coincidence. Yeah still a stretch but not as much IMO. And you dont think Sylar may be able to melt people now? Thats pretty badass IMO
