I still think that Sylar painted himself in that picture, or at least what he thought was to be him.
After looking closely, it looks like the figure in Sylar's painting had small white streaks of hair above his sideburns.Maybe what he painted isn't a different version of Nathan, so much as an older version?

Isaac: Young robust Nathan in office

Sylar: Crusty old, evil looking Nathan in office

:reach:

Peter stood there so he could try to absorb Sylar's powers. Right as Sylar let the glass go the blackboard came flying at him from behind. Maybe Peter knew that would knock him out and would allow Mohinder to get out of there. Peter believed, before that, that he could heal ala Claire, but did not know that a piece of glass to the head inhibits the healing. Peter stood there to help Mohinder and heal himself.
I think Mohinder rammed the blackboard into Sylar.Did Mohinder bring a dead Peter to his mothers in a taxi? How weird is that?
Sylar had time to walk to Peter and stand over him, then the blackboard smashed into him. It was definetly Mohinder (or maybe the smoke monster :lmao: )In the final scene with current Hiro and future Hiro, the timeline only shows save Claire, bomb goes off, and something about Nathan being a rock in a bad time. I think the shot of Sylar on TV was in the previews. When Hiro and Ando are talking ont he roof, Hiro says something along the lines of "Don't you remember, they caught brain man so maybe Issac is still alive" What was he referring to?? Is he assuming that the past will change?? Why did he think they caught Sylar??Didn't Doc Brown explain to Marty that you can't interact with your future self without causing a rip in the space-time-continuum??

Hiro met with Issac after Peter stopped Sylar at Homecoming. Issac, who was at the center at that time, was told by Eve that Sylar was captured.

Thanks, forgot about that.

Yes, but Bill & Ted disproved this theory.

:scared:Peter already absorbed Sylar's powers when he saved Claire. That is where he got the telekinesis. He even mentioned that that was where he got the power from to the invisible guy when he bent back the pole during his "training."Also, as others mentioned, it looks to me like Mohinder hit Sylar with the blackboard. Peter already had the glass in his head at that point. Not sure what Peter was trying to do, but I think he probably turned around to get away from the glass. I thought that was pretty weak. When Sylar was just standing there with the glass, Peter could have stayed invisible and pummelled Sylar with all kinds of crap in the apartment.

Agreed. They had all the makings for an epic battle and wussed out.

The writers of Heroes are such teases! Everytime Mamma Petrelli got asked about powers or hinted at it, I was hoping they would show her power. I was just waiting. Damn them.
When Peter and Nathan came out about their powers to her and she said, "I know. I've known from before you knew." And then the camera showed the brothers from the side and Nathan's head moved back in shock at what he was seeing. The problem is they didn't show what he saw. She showed her powers to them but the director/writers/producers didn't show it to us. One question. Linderman has a painting of Nicci/Jessica. It showd half of each's face to combine into one. Where did he get that? It doesn't look like Isaac's typical paintings....Also, I think Isaac put how to kill Syler in the last comic. That's how he shows the world how to kill Syler. He publishes it. He must've painted the future showing Syler dying and not just his own death....

I don't think Peter is ready for an epic battle yet. He has too many powers to master all at once. He needs to perfect them. Syler obviously had all kinds of ingenius ways to use his since he's had his much longer. He's been telekinetic since before Mohinder even came to the states. He's been killing people, and people with powers since Peter was dreaming about flying. Can't have the epic battler between the hero and the villian 20 episodes into the first season....

I have a feeling that Sylar's demise will be the ending to this season, but next season will have another villian. I am still unsure if Peter blowing up puts an end to him as well. It is possible that Claire, Nathan, and Hiro are the only ones to survive the blast. Anyone have a good memory about the explosion scene? Seems like most of the Heroes are present when it happens.

It was a dream sequence, so it's hard to say if it was an interpreted version of the event or a true one. But yes, almost all the Heroes were present in the dream.

I find Linderman's whole plan that was revealed this week pretty interesting. In the "War Buddies" comic they show how broken up Linderman was over Father Patrelli's decision to kill the Vietnam girl who had powers. Petrelli explains that while Linderman can only heal one person at a time, by killing the girl they will save thousands of Americans. Linderman then comes back years later to Petrelli and says he finally understands what he was trying to do. They then go into business together (or something of that capacity).

I think it's obvious that Patrelli caught wind of Linderman's utilitarian plan to blow up New York and either A) killed himself over the guilt of knowing he couldn't stop it and was the one who planted the concept in his head or B) was killed for knowing too much. (I know they said he committed suicide but I'm not so sure)

Possible spoiler on Mrs. Petrelli's power:

mytagid = Math.floor( Math.random() * 100 );document.write("

"Question: Does Mama Petrelli on Heroes have a superpower?— Amanda

Ausiello: She certainly does. And it's very similar to a power possessed by another hero, only in her case, it takes a lot less effort to get from Point A to Point B."

Also, with a shape shifter as a recurring character now, anything is possible, and the painting Nathan saw of himself in office could very well have been the shape shifter looking like Nathan, for all we know.
I think this is why they just introduced the character. I do not think she will be a hold over to next season either. It will get to a point where you watch each scene wondering if they are all the actual characters. Hopefully the writers to not use this too much. It seems like an easy gimmic to use, but makes for lazy storylines.
Maybe just long enough to get her killed by Sylar? That would let him assume someone else's appearance in the near future...maybe even at the time he dies?

I've seen a few people all geeked about the next episode which is supposed to be what life is like if they don't stop the bomb. I'm not geeked about it at all. I feel like it's a waste of a show. We all know they are going to stop the bomb, so why show this alternate future?

I'm guessing that the only cool thing about the next episode will be they will give us some back ground information for some characters that will still be pertinent information when that alternate future goes away...

Maybe I am wrong, but I assume that Hiro has something to do with stopping the bomb which I assume also means him figuring out how to do that in the future. If no one could time travel like Hiro, then I would think that they can't stop the bomb. Also, not really sure that we know 100% that they will stop the bomb.

They wouldn't pimp an episode saying that "this is what will happen if they don't stop the bomb." They would just show the episode. They have tipped their hand that they will stop the bomb....

Well you gotta figure the season finishes with a mostly-happy ending. Sure someone will probably die saving the day, but of course they stop the bomb. But if you read the comics, you'll see not all bombs are the same.

While its possible - you are making assumptions here. Just watched it again to be sure. She says "I knew long before either of you did." Then they show Nathan look at her and look shocked. I do think she has a power, I dont think there is anything in that scene to lead us to believe she revealed it to Nathan and Peter yet. I think Nathan had a look of shock as he realized what she was saying.

My take on the difference in the paintings is that it is the same painting (future moment), but it is interpreted through different eyes. Sylar ha a distorted evil view on the world, thus when he sees the same image he paints a much more evil looking character and surroundings.
What was the painting that Isaac finished as Sylar arrived? At first I thought it was Sylar standing over his dead body, but the face in that painting closely resembles the face that Sylar painted. Wasn't sure if there was a connection there. Also, does anyone have high-res screen caps of the newspaper clippings that future Hiro clipped?

Tough to tell. Looks like Sylar standing over Isaac's dead body, but you're right...it doesn't look like his face.Only clippings I saw were of Claire, Nathan as president, and NYC devastated.

It's late, and I'm a little drunk.

But I just read this as page 53 of the "***Official*** Herpes Thread" and dived right in.

A couple more thoughts:

1 - Coolest line of the show "Don't burn hot, burn bright"

2 - If Ma Petrelli has a power, why hasn't Peter ever exhibited it? Or Hiro's for that matter?

2 - If Ma Petrelli has a power, why hasn't Peter ever exhibited it? Or Hiro's for that matter?
Maybe he has. We know Peter has had a dreaming power of some sort, with no definitive source. Mama Patrelli might have been the source. As for Hiro's, the Taser HRG shot at him in NYC with the Invisible Man was slowed in a way that didn't necessarily look like Sylar's TK. Hiro's time stopping would be a better explanation, especially since Peter might exhibit a weaker version.
