So I wonder if we find out Mohinder's power in the season finale.
He has no power.
Interesting. It sure seemed like all the mutants were children of other mutants. Mohinder's sister was a mutant, I don't think we've seen a case where one sibling was a mutant and the other was not.
Was she?
I agreewith this. I may have missed this but who/where exactly did someone mention that Mohinder's sister was a mutant? All I remember is that she dies of the virus that her father and Mohinder were trying to cure. Did someone say definitely that she had a power?
In the early episodes it was mentioned that she had a "genertic anomoly", no specific power. Her death was one of the reasons Suresh started his research I believe.
Was the anamoly the disease or was it clearly specified she had a power?

Maybe I'm dumb, but what is the signigicance of Sylar breaking Hiro's sword? They made such a big deal about him retrieving it (as well as still having posession of it in the future). Did I miss something?
I'm not saying this is what I think it is, but one possible explanation is that when Hiro was in the future, Mohindar gave him future Hiro's sword - not Hiro's sword. If you go with the premise that every item and person has their own individual timeline, the breaking of the future-Hiro sword could occur because it already exists later in its own timeline so by breaking it is not disrupting anything in the older timeline.. Hiro must now retrieve his original sword.
So in essense Hiro has to go get his original sword ala Marty McFly grabbing Greys Sports Almanac before Biff can use it...? Its a bit of a stretch but I could see that

It was never specified. Kinda implied but nothing specific. I think this was all in the "5 years ago" episode.

That analogy doesn't quite work because Hiro would have to go back to the future (get it?) after the point where he left, otherwise his sword own't be there.

Didn't the previews show Hiro's dad doing some moves with an intact sword? I think he has it fixed and pursuades Hiro to go back in time and learn to use it and become the guy in the paintings...

Just getting caught up since I missed episodes 19 and 20, and I avoided this thread like the plague in the meantime, so 'scuse me if it's been mentioned.

Episode 19 (0.07%) was excellent. Only complaint is that I really want to see Niki tear some people apart with her super strength.

The "Days of Future Past" episode (ask why I call it that - I have a :lmao: answer for you) was a lot less revealing than I thought it'd be. More character driven than storyline driven. Gonna re-watch last week's episode (which I saw in full) to get the full flavor, but, so far, I feel like the story has slowed down a bit. Also, is it OK to lust after the actress who plays Claire when it is supposed to be 5 years in the future and she's early-20s instead of just 17?

On another note, after seeing future Peter, I dislike him even more - always disliked the actor who plays him, but seeing him in league with Niki was :banned:

The X-Men parallels from that episode have been well covered. :nerd:

Cool - glad we're on the same :nerd: page .(BTW, I absolutely loved the Byrne X-Men era - it is in my soul. I even have a soft spot for X-Men III, The Last Stand for its Moira McTaggert and Sentinals references)

This sounds...interesting, I guess. I obviously like the addition of more episodes, I wonder how exactly the Heroes:Origins concept will play out. Choosing a character each week could be cool if done well.

Heroes Plans for Next Season

In addition:

• NBC "bulks up" with 30 combined episodes of Heroes and Heroes: Origins, an innovative new spin-off that each week will introduce a new character — one of whom will be chosen by viewers through the Heroes website on NBC.com to become a cast regular the following season.

I don't know. I think that they are trying to make an American Idol show out of heroes. It can totally kill the show with over exposure.

I kind of disagree here. It sounds like they will just be stand alone episodes and the viewers will get a chance to pick one of the characters. It's not like an audition or an ongoing competition.

As long as they don't make it into a monster of the week kind of thing.

I hope they don't "Law and Order" it. Apparently they are even stealing an idea from Early Edition and a few other supernatural shows.

Awesome show.

We did not see it but Sylar got to the Invisible Man sometime. Gets Ted in a cool way.

DL, Ted, Linderman all got the axe tonight.

Why was Micah tired or worn out after fixing the election?

BOOM!!

I wanna know how Sylar just happened to show up in the beginning and overhear the conversation? was he there last week? i dont remember.

Plus you think Linderman is really dead?

I really don't like the Niki/Jessica character, and she's a horrendous actress, but every time I see her on the show I find something else about her that is pretty (nothing quite to the level of the stripper scene from Episode 20, though).

He can now paint the future and he knew where to go when Peter gets the burning man's powers. And I wish I hadn't opened this thread and caught a glimpse of that last line before the show was over.

Maybe theyll kill her off but I doubt it, her character is pretty lame....weakest one of them all. Judging from the previews for next week Parkman looks like he gets it. Also Bennet being bad ### and blowing Thompsons brain out was awesome. I wonder how they're going to get around the Molly Walker situation....she obviously cant be in the hands of the Organization but she also has to be kept safe from Sylar and I know they wont have Bennet shoot her. My guess is Suresh brings her up as like his surrogate sister.

That was the most graphic death scene ever - if Linderman's not dead, then the girl who can look like anyone looked like Linderman and stayed that way after she died.Eric Roberts and Malcom McDowell dead in the same episode? Talk about removing the star power.

DL did get him in the back of the head ala Claire/Peter when they "died." I think he is gone. No idea where she was but changing lady was with Micah the whole time so unless they run into Sylar they will be somewhere.Prediction - Sylar kills Micah and manipulates the presidential election.

That's the implication of the days of future past episode - that Sylar kills Nathan, Micah and changeling lady.I think one possibility is that we get the bomb as the season finale and we get "in an imaginary future" episodes next year. Of course, maybe it wasn't a "bomb" - maybe it was big explosions from resulting from Sylar fighting Peter with conflicting nuke powers.

We did not see it but Sylar got to the Invisible Man sometime.
I missed where Sylar becomes invisible. I know he was "gone" after talking to the FBI chick, but he was always good at vanishing and appearing w/o turning invisible.I also thought it was interesting that Peter can now control invisibility well enough to make someone he is touching invisible.

He vanished from the FBI chick before, without invisibility.

Somehow Hiro has to get involved in this and stab someone somewhere next week, Hiro probably stabs but doesn't kill Sylar distracting him from blowing up since he'd be injured because he didn't get Claire's powers. And Claire fights through the nuke storm like she did with Sprague to take down Peter probably with a gunshot.

But my guess is Sylar and Petey will both be back next year. They'll probably remove the bullet from Petes brain and hell come back to life if thats what happens.

:thumbup:my point exactly.

That scar on future Peter tells me that, in the alternative future, Peter didn't get Claire's power, got cut across the face by what looks like a sword and couldn't heal, Sylar got her power and couldn't be stopped before burning the city.In the future we are heading towards with the show, Hiro or Ando somehow cuts Peter (Sylar levitates the sword at Peter's head?), Peter heals it, Claire is alive, and Claire has the ability to fight through burning man power to get to Sylar, which allows a combo of heroes to stop him from burning the city.If Sylar was using the future painting to figure out where to be, why the heck wasn't Peter using it as well to find Sylar?

Would love to know what George Takeis power is. Also Mama Petrelli. I find it interesting that we finally have the rift revealed as well between the former allies. Be interesting to see if they explore that at some point more fully. And with Linderman dead has the future already been changed or is his death the basis for the Linderman Act?

I enjoyed last night's show but my biggest problem with it was the Hiro story-line. Are they trying to tell us that in a few hours of training with his Dad, Hiro is now some kind of proficient swordsman? When he first got the sword it looked like he had no clue how to use it and now he's fighting his father to a standstill? I love the show but I don't like that plot-line.

As for who bought it. Eric Roberts, Ted and Linderman are definitely dead but in the previews for next week it shows DL still alive with Micah and Nikki so it's possible he survives the gunshot. The previews also show Parkman shot so I guess it's up in the air whether he buys it or not.

Perhaps they stopped time for the training. I kept expecting some indication of that, but it never came.

To me the Heroes last episode is going to be an anti-climax. We pretty much know what will happen and are just waiting to see where Series 2 takes us. The writing on this show is inferior to Lost and some of the acting below par. Still I enjoy watching it and hope it solidifies itself as must see TV in the 2nd season.

This is just my guess, but I think Ando & Hiro stop Sylar next week. The big message that Hiro learned from his Dad was that sometimes you must sacrifice your own heart in order to slay the dragon. Which I think translates that Ando will be sacrificed (thus becoming the Hero that he wanted to be) so that Hiro can slay Sylar.

I also think how it is interesting that Mr Sulu used to be part of the organization but obviously couldn't stomach the nuke and switched sides.

I am curious as to who shoots Parkman. Suresh? He was seen trying to help him in the previews. Also, Molly was with DL, Nikki, and Micah does she become their ward?

Agreed, but despite its flaws it's just fun.

They're coming dangerously close to making Peter invincible. If he meets up with Molly and Hiro, he can find Sylar any time he wants, teleport there and do battle. They need to be pretty careful about making Peter absorbing a power as the catch all solution for every problem that crops up or this is going to become the Peter Petrelli show.

 In that episode, Peter admits that he is the one who blew up NYC but that his brother blamed Sylar. It was a potential future from the point where Hiro and Ando time-leap forward, which was after Peter had already met Claire and got her power.

DL lives. Showed it in the previews for next week. Makes sense because in the future episode Syler had DL's power which means that he had to meet DL at some point. If DL dies there he can't get his power.

Micah is supposed to die in the explosion. If no explosion he doesn't die. I don't think that Syler will get his power. Syler became pres before when Micah died in the explosion, thus sans Micah's power.

Micah got tired after rigging the election because he had to rig the entire network. It drained him. He's just a kid.

I also thought it was lame that Hiro seems to be a master swordsman after about an hour with pops who is pretty accomplished. All of the sudden he can beat dad's defenses after about 2 hours and a change of clothes?

Sylar/Nathan doesn't become president until after the explosion.

I took it as more of a confidence boosting thing than becoming a master swordsman. I'm assuming he already had prior training of some sort.

??? I am pretty sure the main point of the "save the cheerleader" storyline was for Peter to save Claire from Sylar at a point before he gets that scar - if that is not your thought, more power to you. The days of future past episode showing Peter with a scar was clearly meant to show that, in that reality, Peter didn't absorb Claire's power before receiving some type of scar across his face. That presumption is supported by the future Hiro's realization with the past Hiro of the "save the cheerleader, save the world" visit with Peter from episode one.Re: how that fits into the Bomb, not sure. But, I'd like you to explain how Peter can have a scar if he absorbed Claire's regeneration power.

And, re: future Nathan blaming Sylar in the future episode, we also learned that Nathan was killed by Sylar and that Sylar was impersonating Nathan. The future-Sylar-impersonating-Nathan blamed himself (Sylar) for the bomb going off. That ALSO means that, in the future epsidoe's past, Peter did not meet up with Sylar to explode the bomb - Peter thinks he did it. Yet, in the last episode, we learned that Sylar intends to become the bomb.

In short, I think my interpretation makes sense, and I hope my explanation above clears up a little bit why I think it is correct.

The part where I am definitely WRONG is:

Sylar got her power and couldn't be stopped before burning the city.
Sylar kills people to take their power and, in that alternative future, Claire is alive.

I guess Hiro can stop time and train for as long as he wants or needs to.
.....in the previews for next week it shows DL still alive with Micah and Nikki so it's possible he survives the gunshot.
I'm guessing Linderman inadvertantly healed him when DL killed him.
I'm wondering why DL just didn't hold onto Nikki so that the bullet could pass through both their bodies.

P.S. - bryhamm - I think you and I differ on what time point the realities diverged - and I say they diverged at a point at or before Peter saves Claire from Sylar.

I also think that (as I contended very early in this thread) the save the cheerleader line from future Hiro to Peter was to get Peter to absorb the cheerleader's powers at that point in time as much as it might have been to save Claire for future events. That is why they keep referring to the scar across Peter's face.

I think the future was changed at that point, so the possible future is already going to be altered. That said, changing the future from a specific point does not automatically mean that every event from that alternative future will not happen - it merely sets a new time stream in motion from the one we already know about where the bomb goes off, Sylar is posing as Nathan as President, and Peter has a face scar.

In this future path we are on, unless Peter loses his powers somehow, he can't get a face scar. I think the Peter with a face scar is representative (and has been from day one) of the future the heroes are trying to avoid (future Hiro says, in ep. 1, "I almost didn't recognize you w/o your face scar")

Damn, I wish I liked the actor who played Peter more because he is so integral to the show.

We see in next week's preview that Sylar and Peter square off in front of Kirby Plaza, and both have Ted's nuclear power.

I think in the fight, since Peter knows Sylar is more powerful, resorts to nuking the city, yet everyone blames Sylar cuz he's the bad guy. I'm not sure how Mohinder, Matt, DL, Nikki and Bennet survive the blast since they were in the building next to the supposed Sylar/Peter showdown.

I agree with whoever it was that guessed that Peter gets his scar from Hiro's sword.
