Not often you can lobby full throated support for a candidate under 2 FBI investigations, both of which are still active. Way to go Tim!  She's not guilty yet.

If the investigation is real and moving forward to a real possibility for a referral of criminal charges.  Wouldn't the sources telling news outlets that 'there is nothing to see here," to protect Clinton, would it be possible they are influencing the election as well?   Would that be ok in this scenario?

Full disclosure, not voting for Trump or Clinton.

Sources around Clinton saying there is nothing to see is expected as part of a political campaign and not illegal.   Members of the FBI leaking information about on ongoing investigation most likely is.

Thanks for the reply, my thought is if a source at the DOJ or FBI is saying there is nothing to see due to their political bias if that is a problem.

So far all I've seen is that no information has come to light that would lead to an indictment or a change to the FBI's initial findings.  This seems to be more of a response to Comey's unauthorized letter than anything else. 

Of course it would be better that if there are no facts that can be disclosed to the public right now, they should all be refraining from comment at all.

I'm sure that she won't be convicted by January.  Can Obama pardon her before she stands trial?

(isn't it great to live in a country where you can discuss what happens if the President-Elect if she gets convicted of her crimes?)

she should have been indicted.

 
No matter what happens, i think were all in agreement that Comey is fully committed now. Hes going to go all the way to take down Clinton. There is no going back.

It's honestly hard to digest everything coming from the Wikileaks. It may have worked out in her favor that everything is coming out in a matter of a couple weeks instead of people having time to parse and reflect on everything.

This doesn't seem at all vaguely odd to you that before last Friday it was the Trumpites who were claiming that Comey was a bag man for Hillary and that the DOJ was rigged and now partisans for Hillary are claiming 'Fifth Column in the FBI'? It doesn't feel weird at all to defend the institution for 3 months and then in the last 6 days to say 'oh hey they're out to get Hillary'?

 
Just watched a cool documentary about the White House. I cannot envision Trump living there or even caring about it or having any reverence for the office or history. I dont think he knows anything about what he is running for.

Because that helps your preferred candidate.  We all get that if it were turned around on a Bush or Trump, the Dems would be saying the exact opposite.

Save your breath arguing that I'm wrong and you'd be consistent.  Everyone knows that's not true.

I agree but you realize he is running against a women that stole furniture out of there, rented out the Lincoln Bedroom and whose husband stuck a cigar up an intern's clam while he was on the phone with foreign heads of state in the Oval Office?

I suppose it could somehow be incriminating evidence of dialogue between Weiner and Huma between each other or additional parties so I suppose technically you're right.   But is the warrant a known element of the story or was that a leak?

Comey took 2 weeks to verify the nature of the data. he did this after his own team verified with the SDNY as to the metadata and that it contained possibly relevant information for their investigation.

The DOJ granted a warrant, which - even considering all the supposed infighting - it wouldn't have done if there were no scintilla of probable cause.

It's going to take a few weeks to go through all the emails, maybe months. Probably 90%+ of the 650K has nothing to do with national security or Foia but even 10% would be a big chunk of documents.

This is the future. Anyone who doesn't reveal their private personal schedule will be accused of hiding something. Oh, I understand that Hillary is different because she's already accused of hiding stuff, yada yada yada (because we don't have enough Seinfeld references in this thread and the Trump thread already). But the bar keeps getting lowered. Today we're accusing Hillary of hiding something. Tomorrow we'll be accusing someone slightly less shady than her. The downward slide will continue until we've reached a point where we're accusing Christian Boy Scout virgins (triple redundancy, I know) of "hiding something" because they refuse to allow video cameras to record everything they do 24 hours a day.

And people will rush to their Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/Snapchat/Youtube live channel to proclaim that it was Hillary who set the precedent.

We're not heading towards Idiocracy. We're already there.

Ford wasn't pardoning someone about to be inaugurated as president, Nixon had left office is disgrace.  And there was vast public disapproval at the time, that had political consequences, which was why he lost to Carter.  And if Hillary were to be pardoned before she took office, her presidency would be over before it began - and should she could still be impeached, a pardon has to do with criminal offenses, not whether the president can be removed from office.

Ain't gonna happen.

It's like Thanksgiving dinner.  You've piled so much on your plate that when you're finished, you can't recall exactly what you ate....and it takes awhile to digest it all.
