Just wanted to get an update here: did we successfully persuade Sinn Fein to vote for Hillary?

Yes she was trying to convince them of an argument I personally find compelling. But given the amounts they contributed to Jen Bush and Marco Rubio, as well as to Republicans across the line in 2012 and 2014, I don't think they were convinced.

Who is with who these days?

FDR and the New Deal Democrats created a system of financial regulation which worked for decades and largely prevented the kinds of meltdowns that happened in the 1870s-1920s.

Then Bill Clinton and the Graham Republicans changed all that, then we had a meltdown in 2008.

But by all means let's recreate that rubric.

They'd prefer a guy like Jeb because he would cut their taxes even further though.  Hillary will just hold the line and help create new loopholes.  They're sure either will let them repatriate their tax-free foreign profits.

Well at least you're willing to distinguish a LITTLE but between the two, but not enough in my book. 

Still I don't think we're that far apart. I too would like to see Wall Street regulated more even if monopoly is the risk. I'm pretty sure I'd like to see it more regulated than Hillary does, but less so than Bernie. Between the two I prefer Hillary but it's a matter of degree.

I don't think she has friends. She has people she uses and people who use her in return. That's what they mean by "that's how politics works".

Only the pieces that actually harm Wall Street like the Volker Rule and CFPB creation.

 Again, the vast majority of Dodd Frank was written by Wall Street for Wall Street.  The vast majority of donations to both of their campaigns in the 2010 cycle came from the finance and related industries. Quit acting like Dodd Frank was some sort of Bernie Sanders/Beth Warren law.  Increasing the concentration of Wall Street firms isn't an unintended consequence; it was its purpose.

Inside Team Clinton’s year-long struggle to find a strategy against the opponent they were most eager to face.

It was supposed to be Jeb Bush, if you asked Democratic honchos in mid-2015, except when it was always supposed to be Scott Walker. Eventually, they insisted, it was always supposed to be Rubio.

But it was never supposed to be Trump.

Clinton circles' initial planning for Bush began even before Democrats’ wipeout in the 2014 midterms. In an October 31, 2014 memo, informal confidant and longtime friend Sidney Blumenthal mapped out a “CONFIDENTIAL” path for Clinton, which she then forwarded to aides Nick Merrill, Brynne Craig, Huma Abedin, Philippe Reines and Cheryl Mills, with the note: “Worth discussing elements.” Mills then forwarded the note to campaign manager-in-waiting Mook and Podesta.

“The Republican presidential campaign will begin on November 5th,” Blumenthal wrote. “If Jeb Bush doesn’t run, there is no viable establishment candidate. If he does run, he will be subjected to an unprecedented assault that might culminate in a splintered party, even a third party."

Six months later, Clinton associates' wariness of Bush and his likely financial firepower was still acute: Democratic pollster Celinda Lake wrote to Clinton adviser Minyon Moore to warn her that she’d been testing Bush’s economic message for a client. “It has been remarkably strong. Getting even half of african americans and democrats and two thirds of latinos. Some thought it ended too harsh. But the perspective on the economy has really worked. Now we didn’t tell people this was from bush. But it’s a warning."

So to take Bush down, Clinton’s team drew up a plan to pump Trump up. Shortly after her kickoff, top aides organized a strategy call, whose agenda included a memo to the Democratic National Committee: “This memo is intended to outline the strategy and goals a potential Hillary Clinton presidential campaign would have regarding the 2016 Republican presidential field,” it read.

“The variety of candidates is a positive here, and many of the lesser known can serve as a cudgel to move the more established candidates further to the right. In this scenario, we don’t want to marginalize the more extreme candidates, but make them more ‘Pied Piper’ candidates who actually represent the mainstream of the Republican Party,” read the memo.

“Pied Piper candidates include, but aren’t limited to:
• Ted Cruz
• Donald Trump
• Ben Carson
We need to be elevating the Pied Piper candidates so that they are leaders of the pack and tell the press to [take] them seriously."

While the campaign also kept a close eye on Rubio, monitoring his announcement speech and tightly designing the tweeted responses to his moves, Clinton’s team in Brooklyn was delightedly puzzled by Trump’s shift into the pole position that July after attacking John McCain by declaring, “I like people who weren’t captured.”

Eleven days after those comments about McCain, Clinton aides sought to push the plan even further: An agenda item for top aides’ message planning meeting read, “How do we prevent Bush from bettering himself/how do we maximize Trump and others?"

Hillary Clinton Pulls Plug On Election Night Fireworks

Hillary Clinton will NOT light up the sky over NYC if she wins the Presidency -- her campaign is calling off a planned fireworks show ... TMZ has learned.

The Clinton campaign had contacted the Coast Guard for permission to pull off a 2 minute long fireworks display over the Hudson River when the election results went final. The fireworks would be visible from the Jacob Javits Center, where she's holding her election night party.

But the Coast Guard tells TMZ ... Clinton's camp reached out on Thursday -- 2 days after her fireworks plan was uncovered -- to say it wouldn't be shooting off the 10" aerial shells, after all.

The Coast Guard says the campaign offered no explanation for the about-face. We've reached out to the Clinton campaign ... no word back yet.

Looks like it'll be strictly sparklers for Hillary Tuesday night ... IF she wins.

1984 I was actively involved in Business Majors for Reagan. We had a huge party the night before the election, kinda like most nights but still. I woke up early in the morning at 1:30pm and the radio had already called it for Reagan. I walked to campus and voted for Jessie Jackson because he was black.

Sorry...how do you know the intent of these individuals again?  I am assuming this is a case of wanting your cake and eating it too.  If this is true, then we need better law makers; ones that can get down on paper what they intend.  This isn't an area where we just throw up our hands and say "dang, I didn't have the forethought/foresight to predict THIS would happen.  Oh well....."

It could happen. If a ton of whites who never vote decide to roll out of their suburban homes and campers all by themselves and vote for the first time in ages, yeah it could happen.

NC's a purple state and polling there is tight.  NH seems to be filled with ### holes....that's not shock that they'd go Trump.  To me, that leaves MI.....and stranger things happen.

People have commented the same on Obama.  That's why he chose to try and use populism to push his agenda and not Congress.  He doesn't like the personal aspects in the deal-making.  I don't expect Hillary to use the same tactics.  She's a better deal-maker (from what I understand) and a much worse public speaker.  She just doesn't connect well as a speaker

I have no idea if Hillary likes people or not.  She is entirely self-serving, but that doesn't exclude being personable on a one-on-one basis.

Latinos in Florida are more conservative than Latinos elsewhere due to the high Cuban population.  I higher turnout won't help Trump, but it's not going to destroy him either.
