@Loan Sharks:  Despite our political difference, I am really glad that you decided to get active and engaged.

I very much get where you are coming from on how the left/media have treated Trump supporters.  I have purposefully avoided Trump threads for that very reason.  I know plenty of people in real life who supported Trump.  Some are actually racist and bigoted, others are not.  Same as any population really.  All I can do is talk to people about why minorities and women pick up on Trump and his supporters statements the way they do.  That is something easier to do in person than on the internet.  I would encourage both Trump and his supporters to consider the language they have used and find ways to advocate their policies without racist undertones or comments that scare minorities, women, or the LGBT community.  Because there are scared people out there today after what they have heard, particularly ones that are a combo of those groups. It isn't fair for your side to dismiss their fear just like it hasn't been fair that the Democrats/media have been dismissive of fear white males have had after 40 years of stagnant wages/lost job opportunities. :2cents:
Thanks man. I have been non political my whole life. I just  didn't care. But as a insurance professional I got sucked in to the Obamacare thread. And man was it nasty.

The problem was people were nasty. Personally nasty to their american brothers for no reason. I was in a time bubble. The last time I followed politics you respected the other persons opinion and had a enlightened disagreement. I am a white collar professional in a blue collar industry and I can't imagine how difficult my job would be if I spoke to my blue collar clientele with the derision and venom the left spews towards the "uneducated".

It turned my stomach and when I tried to engage in a debate was met with well trolling. So I looked at it. Everyone was mocking rural folks saying their concerns were bull#### and they are stupid bigot who deserve to be spurned. What I found was a large segment of the population that was not being properly serviced by its government.

In regard to your statement about the "language" that scares lefties. I hear you, but there is really nothing someone can do to not scare someone with words. Being scared of communication is a internal fear that is not readily apparent to the speaker. People hear what they want to hear.

What I don't understand that if blue collar workers, impacted negatively by the global economy, voted for Trump to help improve their economic situation ...

How is this any different than when those same supporters chastise individuals for relying on the government to provide them with benefits such as healthcare?

I see no difference between the two ... Both groups are wanting the government to improve their lives. But, the one complaining about it, doesn't see the similarities and refuses to actually take their destiny in their own hands by improving their marketability.
You don't see the difference between being mad that the government only helps some of the people, and being happy that the government helps all of the people?

Yes. Why not believe? These are issues that he campaigned on, and why are we being selective on what he promised?
You are hilarious. That is like saying you believed Obama was really going to do something about Autism just because he said it as a campaign promise. Just adorable.

Think? The guy is on video bragging about sexual assault and how he gets away with it...
OMG REALLY? I hope he didn't post any brags on here. You are perhaps the least qualified person on this board to criticize male culture and how we communicate with each other. Maybe we should have a investigation because I said "I'd like you to meet my girlfriend.....Uh Mooooorgan Fairchild"

Not sure where you think I stand on things, but I voted for Trump and am happy half of America didn't vote and he won. What a great day to be an American
My apologies. I was seeing a pattern of responses and your post was the one I quoted.

Looking at the number of voters in the last 5 elections, this most recent one wasn't an outlier as far as what percentage of the population voted for the winner.

Regarding the question of whether the Clinton investigations should continue, I have mixed feelings.

I don't want investigations just because the GOP feels they haven't yet exacted their pound of flesh.  I do, however, want investigations to discern exactly what occurred and whether it was illegal, and if so, I want full criminal prosecution.  My reasoning is that I believe actual prosecution and punishment is the only way to deter similar activity in the future.  In much the same way that I believe letting the big banks off the hook with monetary settlements only encourages similar behavior in the future, I believe that letting politicians off the hook encourages future politicians to act in similarly sleazy ways.

I guess the best way to achieve my goals would be for Congress to drop the matter, but for the FBI to investigate what it actually wants to investigate without obstruction from the DOJ.  For example, individuals granted immunity should not then be permitted to plead the 5th, but should instead be forced to testify or face obstruction charges.

There are literally thousands of videos from Trump rallies on YouTube with people threatening violence towards Clinton/Democrats. This was well covered and commented on.
It was also well documented that the Democrats were caught hiring people off the streets to cause trouble at Trump rallies.

Weird how all of America saw that same video and still voted him president.   How do you explain that?
Great question. Some voted for Trump to MAWA (Make America White Again), some voted for him based on their pure hatred toward Hillary, and others voted for him to fix their economic disparity.

They sold their morality to MAWA, to block Clinton, and to hope and pray Trump finds them work in factory.

One of the best parts of the aftermath of this election is watching you go completely off the deep end, thanks for the entertainment

I'm asking specifically towards your claim.  Your response above would seem to indicate that  the majority of people in America put race, Hillary or economic disparity above sexual assault.   Is that what you are saying?

He won't be president for a second term. His followers will realize they've been Trumped. And, if you're looking for entertainment ... my best advice to you is wait.for.it.

Our future president will be involved in several Twitter wars with both world leaders and the Jon Stewart's who criticize him .

The "you're dumb, you voted for stupid reason X" morally and/or intellectually superior attitude is part of the reason Hillary lost.  Further, you don't get to throw around insults like these while at the same time arguing that everyone should all come together to move forward (and you have personally done both over the last few pages).

Yeah, pretty much so. It was dismissed as "locker room talk."

Nah. Coming together isn't something I want my representatives to do. Obstruct everything, just like we've seen the last 8 years. Investigate too. So funny to see Trumpkins saying that it's time to work together :lmao:

Lastly, never said "you're dumb." But nice try though.

I haven't been able to articulate accurately what I have been observing the last few days.  This is as close as I have seen to what my thoughts/feelings are on this whole fiasco.  I will add to it a realization that with all the demonstrations, facebook posts and general vitriol towards the election results that it's becoming really hard to tell the difference between the bigoted Trump supporters and the bigoted Trump resisters.  I see people doing/saying things today that they were bagging on Trump supporters for doing, literally, three days ago.

If my daughter had a friend with a parent like you, she would be forbidden to go to their house. Unfortunately, you'd think it was because you're gay, but it has nothing to do with your sexuality.

You are crazy. We use that term too frequently around here, because it doesn't express enough just how far off from reality you've been the past two days.

I'm personally looking forward to all the head spinning, and the Greatness. Thinking of tracking it daily.

For the disappointed Hillary supporters, or the Anti-Don's, think of it this way: No more excuses. Something in America not great? Where's Trump.

Although I'm sure it will still be Hillary's fault somehow, or Obama.

So what I expect personally now is increased financial enrichment. That's my expectation based on the promises I heard. So let's MAGA, and benefit me financially.

One Democrat in an edited video from a known fraud artist, who immediately fired because it was wrong. I'm not sure what part of violence and threats of violence are wrong when either side does it you aren't getting.

She couldn't stop bawling after being informed she is a loser. Man, that is the icing on the cake.

She couldn't stop crying.

"Her friend said — her female friend from way, way, back — said that it was even hard to understand what she was saying, she was crying so hard.

"This is Hillary we're talking about," Klein said.

:lmao:  AWESOME!!!!! She had to be blowing snot bubbles.

I'm not against it but honestly how many people didn't vote because they had to work?   jobs are required by law to give you time to vote.. my guess is that people who didn't vote did so for other reasons (mostly disinterest)
It's a psychological thing.  You can wear "your wildest Hawaiian shirt" any day, but on the Federal Wild Hawaiian Shirt Holiday on July 12 everyone will be rocking some wild threads.

People like being a part of something bigger than themselves, and a holiday subtlety provides that context IMO.

Maybe hand out "I Voted" Mardi Gras beads to each voter.  Put a number on each one so they seem "collectable" for each election.

If a lady will show you her yabbo's for beads, she might vote to get one as well.

(In before "People in Chicago would be wearing multiple beads")

You know what the best part about being part of a group that is being/has been persecuted by society?  You have a built in excuse for why people don't like you that allows you to never have to look inside and do any soul searching.

People think I'm a condescending jerk?  Racists!  People think my ideology is bad for the country?  Racists!  People are suffering and just angry at the world? Racists!

The overwhelmingly vast majority of people didn't vote against or not vote for Hillary because of her gender or because they agreed with Trump's comments on women and minorities.  If the left can get past this stupid hang up, they will start to understand and do better next time.  If they insist on sticking to the racist/sexist narrative, we will see a lot more of the same.

Ah this makes my day!

Next election Dems need to skip the TV ads and use that money for on the ground get out the vote operations.  The lack of creativity boggles my mind.

Rock the vote?

How about you bring in your mail ballot and get free entry into a concert the week of voting if you are under 35?  The election came down to 40k votes in these states.  That's one concert.  It sounds silly but it adds up.

Because this isn't a "both sides do it" argument. The day after Obama won in 08 and 12 you didn't have Republicans in the streets making threats, burning flags and damaging property.

Hillary set records for ground game GOTV AND advertising. Hillary had a top flight operation, totally professional, first class experts in their field. She was a bad candidate.

I'm not going to continue to engage in pointless back and forth on this, but there is nothing wrong with peaceful demonstration. When violence and destruction come into play it's wrong no matter who is doing it. Personally I think the Dems doing it now should have been out knocking on doors for the last month but they have every right to express themselves now. As for the "both sides don't do it", that's just nonsense.
