Re: her "fainting": her campaign says she got overheated this morning and is resting comfortably at Chelsea's house. I'm sure the conspirators will regard this with a grain of salt. I just hope she's OK...

Question for historians.  Is there any precedent for presidential candidates and serious health issues?  For instance, imagine (I'm not by any means suggesting this is the case) a candidate came down with a terminal illness or a serious illness like cancer.

Would transparency be required legally?  Just wondering.

FDR hid his health issues.

This is a bit of a myth. The country knew that FDR had been a polio victim, but the extent of his illness (i.e., complete paralysis below the waist) was never disclosed.

However, by 1944 he was suffering from heart disease (and possibly cancer), and that was definitely hidden from the public.

It isn't a myth. You admit his health issues were hidden in your post.

"While she was making her way into a van in her motorcade, Secret Service agents helped her into the van in the motorcade."

She got a blood transfusion in the van, right?

She was just videoed leaving her daughter's house. She waved at the cameras and yelled "I'm feeling great!"

Sorry guys, this appears (for the moment!) to be a non story. We'll see what transpires.

Lets see how widespread that video gets....heat exhaustion won't cut it, it this continues to get legs

BTW - that is an awfully kind description by CNN of what transpired.  I thought she had fainted before that - now that I have seen the video - a better description would be that Secret Service agents kept her from face-planting in front of the van.

I watched her feet...it looked really bad.

Same here.  I read the story and thought that she just wasn't feeling well, like when you have a cold and still have to sit through an uncomfortable formal event.  No big deal.  But that video showed somebody who literally couldn't stand up unassisted.  I have better motor control after an evening of heavy drinking.

I believe if a president is incapacitated, the veep immediately assumes the office for the duration.  Happens for surgery or any time they are put under for medical reasons I think. When the president regains control of their faculties, power reverts back to them.

So #### like this happens at least one a week or two with her, and you keep saying this is a non-story?  A non-story would be if it happened once.  More than once makes it an actual story.

I think we all look back to the Al Haigh era with a little nostalgia.

First, I legitimately hope she is ok, and not in deaths door like it looks.  At this point, if she doesn't release her complete medical records, it should be disqualifying.

Daily Mail has the video now - so the tabloid crowd will see it.

Also included this little bit:

She also appeared to lose a shoe as she walked into the vehicle.

Her detail retrieved a shoe from underneath the van and helped the former Secretary of State inside, according to reports.

   thats because the secret service were dragging her, and she had no control over her feet so they bent backwards...

The issue for Clinton is not really whether she has a serious medical condition - its the perception that she has a serious medical condition.  And, Trump has been laying the groundwork for this since the primary when he called her out for having no energy, and that she must be suffering from something to stay away from the campaign trail as much as she did.  This just adds fuel to the fire.

should have let her face plant for being such a ##### to them in the past :D

Again, I agree.  That video is going to get a billion views.  It takes an issue that was floating around aimlessly in the fever swamps of the right-wing internet and suddenly places it front and center in mid-September.

Time for Hillary to step aside for Kaine for the good of the nation?  She can't risk turning the nation over to a basket of deplorable.

Looks like she was being held up before the van got there. Wonder what the aides are hiding from us. They obviously knew she was in the beginning of an episode of some sort. They did leave early after all.
I think she was definitely being propped up by the pillar, and the aide standing next to her.  But right after that she lost all bodily function.  I think the van is an indication that they knew this was a possibility, and were prepared - can you imagine trying to put her into a Suburban in her condition?  When is the last time you saw a presidential candidate, with a secret service detail, traveling in a van?

need to fit the coffin

maybe she'll have an 'episode' during a debate- that would be must see TV

It's my that she's sick... FDR was a fine president.  It's that as she's wobbling to the ground it's as if it's captioned...  "I must hide this from the American people."

And in case you haven't gotten the memo, she has a serious neurological illness.

Wow, that video is crazy. She was dragged into the van, you can see the bottom of her shoes. I'm sure there's more video/pictures to come.

This is @timschochet burying his head in the sand, minimizing and ignoring obvious problems.  We've all seen this intellectual dishonesty play out time and time before.

The guy at the Washington Post who wrote 'come on, this is a non story' about this a few days ago just wrote a new editorial. It's all him saying he was wrong and this is a serious question that demands honest answers.
It's a fair and well written piece.  For all my problems with Hillary, I do not celebrate her poor health.  The best point made is that we cannot trust her campaign's word that "she's fine!!!!" and "feels great!!!!"  She needs to release compete medical records, or at least enough to claim she isn't sitting on a time bomb.

I think the only thing that would make this more entertaining would be if Trump tweeted something along the lines of "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen"  Then watching all the feminists go nuts about referring to Hillary in the kitchen.
