I'm not sure they end up getting released today.  John Kirby said at Friday's press briefing "I can tell you we're going to work really, really hard to make that happen" when he was asked if he was confident they would make today's deadline.  That certainly sounds like hedging to me.
Sheesh the judge is already ticked, it's highly advisable they show up today.

What if they don't? Will anyone from State face any repercussions?
Depositions are on the table, including Patrick Kennedy, Hillary, and her aides, and forensic inspections of servers and collected data. Foia carries penalties for bad faith breaches as well. The judge could order the production of Hillary's deleted emails if they're recovered or held somewhere also.

Somewhat baffling that this hasn't happened already.

apparently there's a different rulebook for Hillary.  I have yet to see it, but am told with confidence it exists.

Not really.  Legal standards are far different than the right wing blogs that Saints spend his time searching.
Tommy please don't misrepresent the links I post to. I've almost exclusively relied on mainstream news sites and Hillary's own emails.

As for the point about Hillary's deleted emails it is indeed on the table. One issue is the FBI has told State they cannot turn over the results on their inspection of the server at this time. Also people like David Kendall and Brian Pagliano may have copies but aren't parties right now but could be dragged in if the courts so choose.

Hillary says Bernie has a small penis!

Oh wait, wrong party. Sorry. This is the adult table...
Have to agree Tim. It's pretty freakin embarrassing what's happening. I think whoever is advising Rubio on this is destroying the guys career.

Can't argue with this.  This back and forth with Trump and Rubio is an absolute embarrassment.
The media is driving this. On Sunday CNN and MSNBC both telecast Trump's traveling circus.

Raise Trump's instability, failed businesses, fraudulent schemes or his lack of knowledge or depth on anything? Zero coverage.

Give a zinger on his tiny fingers or read his tweets out? That gets air time.

Not hard to see why a candidate like Bernie is struggling for media attention.

There's some truth to that for sure, but these guys are making it too easy.  This isn't just flinging a little mud, this is juvenile and beneath any standard of dignity we should have for someone seeking the presidency.  What an awful decision we are going to have to make in November.

The media is LOVING this. The circus that he is keeps people entertained and watching and they know if he goes into the general election it will still be a circus PLUS they get the added bonus of Hillary winning. For the media it is all wins for them.

No need to get all down in the dumps about it.  Look on the bright side.  Maybe the earth will be struck by a heretofore unknown meteor and/or comet this summer so the election will end up not mattering.
CLINTON

TRUMP

DEATH BY METEOR

Tougher choice than you thought, right?

Betting markes LOVE Hillary in a matchup with Trump.  In the last few days her odds have been cut from 1/1, where they more or less sat for a long time, to 11/17 today as she's burying Sanders and Trump is becoming the presumptive nominee.

Basically moved from 49% chance of being Pres to 58% chance in the last week.  And less than half that movement is reflected in Sanders' movement (i.e. it's related to the general election opponent).

ETA:  Dems also moved to a 62% favorite to win the election.  That's as high a number as I ever recall seeing this far out.

I have confidence total confidence that Rubio or Kasich could beat her in the general and I think Cruz would have a fighting chance. At least- most of the GOP could fall in line and support them.

Not true of Trump. He is the single most disastrous thing to have happened to the Republican party in it's history.

Monster of its own making.  For decades the party subtly promoted messages of intolerance, xenophobia, paranoia and fascism.  It created a receptive populace ready to have those messages taken unapologetically into the light as a platform.  Now the mainstream Republican Party is waving its arms saying, "We weren't OVERTLY any of those things," while several million nuts are saying, "Well that's what you made us."

Reminds me of what happened to journalism in the late 80s.  It was respectable, but kept pressing the line of sensationalism.  Hard Copy hosted by Bill O'Reilly came on and just tore off the lid and said screw it, give them all the murder, sex and mayhem they can handle.  The media shifted and never went back.

Be careful when charming the basest instincts of the human species.

Good warning for the Democratic party and Sanders.

Regarding your last sentence- this is not true-yet. That dishonor still belongs to Joe McCarthy, who hurt a lot of innocent people.

So long as Trump loses the election he won't top McCarthy. If he wins he might.

SID....."right wing blogs" is his term for anything that doesn't fit his already determined viewpoint....hth.

McCarthy was overzealous and laser focused on a witch hunt for communists but he did not hurt the Republican party (I am speaking specifically of the party here) as Trump will. He is the exact opposite of Reagan who brought the party 'factions' together and could very well break the party apart. The GOP should be able to survive Trump but it very well might not.

Joe McCarthy wasn't a very nice guy, but he did approximately no damage to the Republican party at all.  He's not even in the same universe as Donald Trump when it comes to setting an entire political party back a decade or more.

Does anyone who's a firm supporter of Clinton have a viewpoint on what her supporters would/should do if she's indicted based on the email issue?  Or if her top staffer(s) are?  I haven't really seen from anyone who supports her what the plan is/should be if that happens before - or after - the nomination is set.

Firm supporter here. And no, I don't have any viewpoint on that.

I'm not an ardent supporter but I am a lefty so I'll answer your question.  If Hillary or her immediate staff are indicted I am hoping Bernie can make a serious run or else I vote Bloomberg should he decide to run.  Heck, I will vote for darn near anyone not named Trump or Cruz at that point even if that means jumping the aisle.

timschochet has already stated that he would not continue to support her if she is indicted, and would have to think seriously about it if Abedin/Mills were indicted.  However, he offered the caveat that he would continue to support her regardless if Trump is the GOP nominee.

Can I ask why an indictment matters?  I mean, the actions she took are the actions she took, regardless of whether a prosecutor sees fit to charge her.  Either those actions disqualify her in your mind or they don't.  Unless you're thinking purely in terms of electability, why does the indictment change your mind?
