And no, knowing that the authority to ultimately determine what was and what was not classified within the State Department does not require Hillary to declassify her emails and/or their content.

Information may have been classified by another department which she has no authority to declassify.

The problem with your laughter here, and with the argument that fruity pebbles made, and with the arguments that ALL of you have been making against Hillary Clinton is this thread, is that you guys all begin with the assumption that she is guilty to begin with, that if she claims any defense she must be lying, because you guys already believe she's a scumbag, without any real foundation. It's nonsense. She did nothing wrong with the emails, nothing wrong in setting up a personal server, nothing wrong with the Clinton Foundation, and all of the other so-called scandals have been proved to be bogus as well. • Powell supposedly used an AOL account meaning all of his data is moving around from server farm to server farm in God knows what country
  
• Powell turned over zero of his emails when leaving office.
  

So by just about every measure except possibly quantity Powell was worst!  But except for possibly the last one it shouldn't matter.

This makes no sense. During the 1990s independent prosecutors investigated every scandal, every rumour involving Hillary Clinton. She was forced to testify. They found nothing. Last year a partisan House committee, intent on damaging Hillary's reputation for the general election, drilled her for hours along with other witnesses on Benghazi, the emails, and her foundation. They found nothing. The FBI is currently investigating the emails. They will find nothing, because there is nothing to find. 

For years now all of these investigations, almost all of them partisan or prodded by partisan sources, out to get Hillary Clinton and nobody has ever found anything. There are two possible explanations for this: either she is the most diabolical politician who ever lived, with the ability to corrupt every branch of government from the Justice Department on down...

...or perhaps she is really a person of integrity who hasn't committed any crimes.

Its not answering the question, its drawing a comparison.  She has a real problem answering whats asked of her and she's not especially unique amongst politicians in this regard but a spotty look in an era of referendum on the establishment

Defending her?  No.  However we know that Powell was one during his term.  We also know that Hillary discussed this in several emails.

ETA: Not to be an  about it, but I doubt Hillary was setting up her talking point in these emails.  If she was, that alone would be enough to make her the smart choice for president.

Perhaps I was not clear in my original message, I was referring more to the private server in their home, which this evening in the Fox News Town Hall she said "several" government officials have used.  I'd like to know who.  I would think someone might have come to her defense if so.

First off the bolded is an overstatement. 

With regard to Marc Rich, at the time I was disturbed by the pardon and I believed it to be a sign of corruption- not by Hillary Clinton but by Bill. However, Bill wrote an op-ed defending it, and I remember reading that and thinking: well, if the stuff he is saying here is true, then the pardon was justified. But that was 15 years ago and I don't remember what those reasons were. 

As for the other pardons, I'm sorry I have even less information about them.

Powell used a gov account in addition to the personal account. No one ever used a private email exclusive and no one ever put their data exclusively on a private server. And 2 less than secret emails vs 2100+ with apx. 100 Secret and above is a huge difference. Rice also was Hillary's predecessor. If Hillary had had 2 confidential level emails only and had maintained a gov account like Powell she wouldn't be in trouble either.
