That has been the biggest factor for Bernie fans, but they are not the majority of Democrats. It is a secondary factor for Trump fans, far behind their twin goals of (a) doing something about illegal immigration (b) sticking it to the GOP. 

Come November, the economy will be the biggest issue, unless there is a foreign catastrophe.

You and I may probably agree on almost everything about how Trump does not correspond with that goal or how the view of him is unrealistic on that point but I think it's very much a factor. You forgot to add how she was fired from her job as a Watergate lawyer for ethics violations, her unbelievable prowess in making money on cattle futures, and her current interest from the FBI. She did land her plane in a lot of countries as Sec of State for PR purposes though and there was that one time where she had to dodge sniper fire with Sinbad. And she had massive success in resetting our relations with Russia.

She was able to do all those things, get away with them, and STILL win the Presidency.  Damn right she deserves it.

Can you people tell me what you like about Hillary? Everyone I know, including me, hates her. She's the biggest liar out of all the candidates and generally a despicable person. There's Benghazi and the email scandal. Minorities and women love her but why do you?  is it just because you're democrats and have no choice?

Because frankly it does seem kind of insane to dismiss the ACA (and resulting increase in coverage), the Clean Power Plan, the Paris Agreement, the overhaul of No Child Left Behind, national protection for gay marriage rights, and any number of other things accomplished during the Obama administration as "nothing." Yet they happened while money played a role in politics. Maybe you meant something different and it's getting lost in translation here?

Perhaps. Unfortunately, the Democrats generational talent is termed out in 9 months.  

And even if another Obama was waiting in the wings, we wouldn't be able to "get money out of politics" or make nearly the amount of change that some think Bernie would enact. At the margins, those seats that would flip control of both houses are seats won in red areas, and those democrats aren't in the Sanders wing of the Democratic Party.

I'd like a link to Trump's singling out of the GOP as "the problem" as he's framed it above.  While I think he's a blundering idiot, I don't think he's reserving blame for the GOP.  He very clearly seems to be about everyone on Capitol Hill.

I would even argue the Oligarchy soft engineers all our social conflicts (transgender people in bathrooms, cops shooting black citizens, gay marriage, abortion, saying merry christmas, etc. etc. etc.) to keep us distracted and divided while they reengineer political borders, trade deals, campaign financing, government control, financial robbery, gun confiscation, warrantless wiretapping, global warfare, and other items to increase their power and control. Once you see it, it's terrifying to see how entrenched its become. That is why they are fighting Bernie and Trump so hard. They would change that.

Firstly, Obama shouldn't get credit for what the courts did. I can be open to you saying otherwise, but should Obama get "credit" for Citizens United being ruled in 2010?

The ACA was a great step forward. It should have been obvious that it wasn't the final piece but it proved that people want and do need health care. Universal Health Care is the next step. However considering the costs its putting on the middle class it needs to evolve further or be reformed. Paris Agreement was good, but China/India/Indonesia are still being let off the hook. Right now it just seems like pandering to a base then real reform that can stabilize our global climate threat. As for No Child Left Behind, I haven't done the research but it's common for people to think it needed and overhaul and I'll defer to people like you on this.

Maybe Henry can cast some light on what the hell is going on in this little procedural gambit by the DOJ in one of the two main suits versus State on Hillary's FOIA requests, this one brought by Vice News.

Reads to me like the DOJ filed a motion to dismiss something - the case, certain claims, not sure - and then filed a secret (ex parte, meaning with no notice to the other party) affidavit supporting their motion. The DOJ claims its filing itself is classified. Now why the judge, whom I 'm guessing doesn't have some sort of super secret clearance, gets to see it, I have no idea. But Vice News caught wind of that and is raising its opposition. This sounds like some kind of sneaky trick which has been caught red handed.

The protest gained some traction late Wednesday afternoon when Moss ordered the Justice Department to file publicly a redacted copy of the secret filing or "show cause why" that isn't possible. He gave the government until April 26 to do that.

The motion and order came in a Freedom of Information Act case Leopold filed seeking access to deleted messages the FBI is said to have obtained from Clinton's server, as well as other specified types of records about the probe such as records authorizing media statements or exchanged with the State Department about the matter.

The suit also sought correspondence between the FBI and Clinton representatives about the issue. The FBI said last month there is none. An FBI records official said disclosing other data and correspondence could "adversely" affect the pending investigation.

- Basically by the looks of it, State and DOJ know that the FBI has already submitted two filings which have aroused attention because they have confirmed the existence of ongoing "law enforcement activities" (ie criminal investigation) and whatever this third filing is DOJ and State don't want the public to know about.

Just a point about this:

1. There is no connection, nor could there be one as a matter of chronological reality, between Clinton’s receipt of speaker fees between 2013 and 2015, and any positions she held or decisions she made before those dates. Hillary’s paid speeches were made in the three year window between leaving the State Department and announcing for the presidency; she could not receive such fees while serving as FLOTUS or U.S. Senator or Secretary of State — positions she held for basically 20 years in a row. Thus, no aspect of her record has any connection to any speech she gave after the fact.

The field has been wide open for both the Dems and the GOP to simply nominate someone likeable, experienced, normal, ethical. Really whoever gets there first wins. Could have been Sanders, could have been Kasich, whoever else from the GOP.

I'm not so sure about Kasich's electability. I suppose all the critical things Hillary's fans say about Sanders, that no one really knows him and he will be gradually exposed, etc., could apply to Kasich too. He's not the personality that Sanders is by any stretch, but that whole 'capable technocrat' shtick can work pretty well. Plus, you know, Ohio and the midwest.

And I don't buy the whole thing about how Trumpites won't show up for someone else in the GOP. Polling shows the same for Trump voters (presuming he doesn't run and no one else serious 3rd party shows up).

I think the bigger problem for the GOP even if they were to wrangle free of the Donald/Cruz dilemna is the incredible ill will, animosity, xenophobia, and rancor they have created in America over the last 10 months or so, it's just been a huge big ol' paint brush they've been splattered with by Trump.

The trade agreements with Vietnam and South America. And of course, as I already noted, wading through the Middle East troubles.

- I guess TPP, Panama, Colombia and Korea was part of that entire free trade agenda.

- Can't help but notice you left out Russia.

- The other half was the mideast. Ok: Libya was just described as a "s### show" by the President. - Syria is Syria. - Egypt: disaster averted. - Iraq: more troops on the way.

That said, what is the basis of a FOIA request to access Clinton's deleted emails? Could I FOIA President Obama's Gmail account? Generally curious as I am unclear on FOIA law.

The test is whether they are public records. It's the content that matters, not where they are stored.

So if Hillary deleted public records and they are recovered then they can be Foia'd.

If they are "personal" like she says she has nothing to worry about.

Hence the DOJ is making secret ex parte filings with a federal court in response to this request.

Its just a question now of how smart is the GOP.

Hillary is the nominee.  Now the GOP just needs to broker the convention and make Kasich the nominee and the GOP wins everything.  He'll come in and immediately repeal Obamacare.  Its all set up for the republicans here.

If anyone but Kasich gets the nom, Republicans lose.  If Kasich is willing to bring up all,of Hillary's flaws and fight bare knuckle, he beats her in November.  And the Democratic Party couldn't deserve it more for forcing this horrible candidate.

The field has been wide open for both the Dems and the GOP to simply nominate someone likeable, experienced, normal, ethical. Really whoever gets there first wins. Could have been Sanders, could have been Kasich, whoever else from the GOP.

I'm not so sure about Kasich's electability. I suppose all the critical things Hillary's fans say about Sanders, that no one really knows him and he will be gradually exposed, etc., could apply to Kasich too. He's not the personality that Sanders is by any stretch, but that whole 'capable technocrat' shtick can work pretty well. Plus, you know, Ohio and the midwest.

And I don't buy the whole thing about how Trumpites won't show up for someone else in the GOP. It's not just the Trumpites who will be pissed, it's also the Cruzites, but I'm not saying none of them will show up, just not nearly enough.  The GOP starts out in the hole as it is, they can't afford to alienate that many voters.  Kasich has zero chance to win with the way this would have to go down.

Cruz nor Trump can possibly win a general.  By the way, Ruan wins handily as well...  But he's been adamant he's not running.  All comes down to whether the GOP wants to field a loser by a landslide, or not.

I know they can't, which is why I said the GOP is screwed no matter what.  Kasich is probably the "best" of the bunch, but he would have a hard time winning the general if he won the nomination fair and square.  He has zero chance like this- he's still behind Rubio in delegates, for crying out loud.  Lol @ Ryan wins handily- no GOPer wins handily with the way the electoral map shapes up, especially one that isn't even running.
