She changed or position for her own political benefit. What she actually believes is irrelevant as she's proven to be a sell out her entire career.
Made it through the 5 seasons of Veep.  Amazing the parallels.  You take someone devoid of any values, politically talented, ruthless - but largely incompetent and you can almost make them sympathetic as they play the game to serve their egos, personal interests and legacy.  It's interesting how the show began with pure buffoonery but has an edge now as the lead character becomes more exposed as value-less and detached from the People.

Funny that Hillary is a huge fan and that it's clearly inspired by her.

I heard a little bit of Hillary's speech. Unfortunately she's back to yelling. She's been so effective lately keeping her voice quiet and calm, but then she forgets and the yelling happens. Even as a supporter, it's not easy to listen to.

Obama is such a good speaker. That Dallas chief of police- he's a natural as well. Hillary is not. Trump is an effective off the cuff speaker, but terrible at giving a speech.

I guess it's just a talent you have or you don't. Ranking Presidents as speakers since Nixon from 1-10:

Nixon 6

Ford 5

Carter 6

Reagan 10

George H W Bush 5

Bill Clinton 9

George W. Bush 5

Obama 10

Hillary is a 3 or 4. I'm convinced that she will be the worst speech deliverer in my lifetime. Trump is an 8 off the cuff, and a 4 reading a speech.

Is your theory that Hillary, through Bill, decided to bribe/influence Lynch after months and months during a meeting no one tried to hide and used a paper trail so that they could claim the words spoken at the meeting were innocuous?  That's what you think happened?
Bill, Hillary, Lynch, Comey, White House all cooperated or coordinated very well. There is such a fine line between the two words.

I've asked before in this thread for an accounting of her change in positions and policy disagreements that you or others have had over the years.  Because these blanket statements just sound like regurgitation of Fox talking points.  I mean, she's a politician, but she's hardly worthy of the vitriol based upon her policies and votes.

Has enyone compared a picture of Obama in 008 to today? Now think about how HRC will look in 4 years. We shouldn't vote for her simply to try to save her life.

"Well, it's a well known fact, Sonny Jim, that there's a secret society of the five wealthiest people in the world, known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows... The Queen, The Vatican, The Gettys, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went #### up. Oh, I hated the Colonel with is wee *beady* eyes, and that smug look on his face. "Oh, you're gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!""

Interesting, I thought it was ex Goldman Sachs execs that ran the world.

First indications are that Comey hearing didn't Hillary, but it may be too early to assess if there is long term impact.

No real change in polls over the past week. Trump at 22.5% in our polls-only forecast today. Was 22.4% a week ago.

There have been some strong individual polls for Trump, and Clinton but -- as is often the case -- they more or less cancel out.

You too, GB.  Hope you take a good long look at Donald Trump and decide to join us in fighting the good fight ... and then work to make the winning team better by working for change from the inside, just as Sanders has successfully done in recent weeks
Between Trump and Sanders guess which one has given money to Hillary? So in a way you're supporting who and what Trump's supported.

Congrats.

I'm sure I support many people and things that Trump has also supported.  I even went out with one of his pageant contestants once :excited:   That doesn't make him or his 2016 campaign for president any less awful.

Ha ok given that interesting factoid sounds like I need to defer to you on at least a few things outside politics at least.

I have lost all faith in polls.

Don't you remember?  Squiz, Tim and the others say we're not supposed to be looking at the polls.
Don't you remember? We said repeatedly that they don't count until after the nominees for both parties have been chosen, that is when people start taking the general election seriously.

Have the nominees been officially chosen yet?  TIA!

Heard Hillary say to Bernie, "Thank you for your lifetime fighting injustice!"  It was on the radio so I couldn't see...  Was she flipping him off?
I guess that includes her.

Hey remember that time Hillary's surrogate John Lewis tried to negate Sanders' work in the civil rights movement by suggesting it never happened? Yeah, good times.

Typical Saints. He didn't really suggest it never happened. And he clarified his remarks, which you oddly didn't mention (wonder why?):

Civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis on Saturday clarified comments he made earlier this week questioning Sen. Bernie Sanders’ involvement in the civil rights movement. Lewis, who is supporting Hillary Clinton over Sanders in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, had said he never met Sanders.

“In the interest of unity, I want to clarify the statement I made at Thursday’s news conference,” Lewis said in a statement from the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, which endorsed Clinton on Thursday.

“I was responding to a reporter’s question who asked me to assess Sen. Sanders’ civil rights record. I said that when I was leading and was at the center of pivotal actions within the Civil Rights Movement, I did not meet Sen. Bernie Sanders at any time. The fact that I did not meet him in the movement does not mean I doubted that Sen. Sanders participated in the Civil Rights Movement, neither was I attempting to disparage his activism. Thousands sacrificed in the 1960s whose names we will never know, and I have always given honor to their contribution.”

Obama backing anti-Netanyahu group isn't going to play too well in Florida.
:lmao:

For about 20 years now, Republicans have been trying to peel away the Jewish vote in Florida. Forget about it. Jews are pro-Israel, and most of them vote Democrat. And even more of them will vote for Hillary Clinton than they did for Barack Obama.

This is something I never understood. I think the Democrats would be far more likely to throw Israel to the wolves than the Republicans would.

He got caught in a lie and then admitted the lie, yes.

First off, no.

Second, Jews tend to be more than single issue voters. And they have a history of being liberal because, just as in the case of many other minorities, conservatives did not treat their ancestors very well.

And yes, I think the Democrats would throw Israel to the wolves before Republicans would. But we'll have to disagree there.

Expand on that last part a little?

I don't think either side has the political will to say just how horrible a mistake the creation of Israel was.

I edited out Republicans- I meant to write "conservatives". Conservative Democrats were worse than say, progressive Republicans.

I won't get into the entire history here but things like housing areas where Jews weren't allowed to purchase, country clubs where Jews weren't allowed to belong, etc. Plus Jews were heavily involved in the labor movement and Civil Rights movement. Because Jews have been persecuted for so long they tend to be attracted to liberal causes.

- The policy sounds bad, because if I'm not mistaken using US taxpayer money for influencing foreign elections is illegal, but the destruction of public records relating to it is worse IMO.
