Yikes, another round of leaks....

Top Donors:

#1 Matthew Berzun … Ambassador to UK- The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, chaired by Senator John Kerry, approved Barzun's nomination as Ambassador to Sweden during the week of August 3, 2009, and the nomination was confirmed on August 7.
#2 Julius Genachowski … Former chairman to FCC- On June 25, 2009, the U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed Julius Genachowski as FCC Chairman.
#3 Frank Sanchez…. Under secretary of commerce- On April 20, 2009, President Barack Obama nominated Sánchez to be Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade. After one and a half years, Sánchez was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate in September 2010.[3]
#8 Kirk Wagner… Ambassador to Singapore-Diplomacy is not the first word that comes to mind for people who know Kirk Wagar, Barack Obama's brash and chronically politically incorrect top Florida fundraiser in 2008 and 2012. Still a grateful Obama administration has tapped the Miami lawyer and Democratic activist to be ambassador to Singapore. The U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations is set to hear Wagar's nomination by President Barack Obama Tuesday afternoon; his confirmation could come Wednesday, reports the Miami Herald.

etc.

New Quinnipiac poll of likely voters nationally:

Clinton 48 Trump 43

In four way race, 41-39
Poll was taken between last Thursday and yesterday, i.e. at the height of the "deplorables" and pneumonia/fainting feeding frenzy, and using likely voters is usually better for Trump than registered voters.

I'm very surprised, I would have guessed a Trump lead here given all those factors. Seems like very good news for Clinton. Now she has to get to work on those third party voters, hopefully with some help from Sanders. Jill Stein was kind enough to give her a boost this weekend by coming out as a 9/11 conspiracy theorist.

Once again I think we should remember that our message board is comprised almost entirely of middle class and upper middle class white males.

Sometimes it sounds like almost any Dem candidate would be vastly better than Clinton. And if the FFA got to pick the next president, that's definitely true. But there are also plenty of women and African-Americans who will turn out enthusiastically for Clinton but would not for Sanders or Biden.
Yet Sanders and Biden both consistently polled better against Trump than Clinton.

We can theorize all day about who might turn out and who might not, but all available evidence to date shows that Clinton will perform worse than the others would have.

The best available evidence is that Clinton beat Sanders in the primary and is currently still leading against Trump while Sanders and Biden are actively politicking on behalf of Clinton.

I hear you. I was just saying to my mom last night, who supports hillary, it's a shame as we are on the likely dawn of a seminal moment in American history, politics aside, the election of the first female president. My mother can see the flaws in Hillary but I think in her 70's, she's excited to see that in her life time, God willing.

But we both agreed we would have preferred someone else, maybe a warren, to have this moment.

None of that is evidence that Clinton will fare better against Trump than Biden or Sanders would have.  Similarly, Trump beating Rubio and Kasich in the primary is not evidence that he will do better against Clinton than Rubio or Kasich would have.  I suspect that Kasich would be crushing Clinton right about now, given her penchant for not being able to get out of her own way.

Sure, and if I had to bet (and there was a way to know) I'd bet they would have done slightly better than she will do in the end.  But she had also been vetted far more thoroughly then they had when those polls were taken, which we went through ad nauseum during the primaries in the Sanders thread, so its likely those polls overestimated where they eventually would have ended up.

Biden was never an option.

Hillary's list of 20 questions is hilarious coming from her.
It is literally a list of all of the #### Her and Bill have been doing for the past decade.

She couldn't be any worse with social media.

Whoever is running her account must think her followers are brain dead.

This just hit home while watching CNN.  They just interviewed a Flint resident, a mother of two young children.  She bathes her kids in the kitchen sink because that faucet is where she has filtered water - the shower/bathtub water isn't safe to bathe in.  This is not a voter with the leisure time to read The Atlantic and Newsweek and make a voting decision based on international economic policy.  She's trying to figure out which candidate she can trust more to help get her city's water clean enough to use the bathtub again.

Indulge me for a moment.

Who do Hillary and Bill have a business partnership with who is connected to Iranian money laundering?

What Russian mob boss ran a criminal organization out of building owned by Hillary and Bill, and how did he get a VIP pass to the Miss Universe pageant Hillary and Bill ran in Moscow?

Who's running for Mayor in Flint?

To be fair, I don't think his point was the Clintons were linked to the same specific people in the same specific way.  It's that both these idiots are linked to some really shady people who promote pretty shady (if not downright deplorable) actions.  No idea why either of them would go here.

I completely disagree... but if in the end you are right, it's same mindset that makes you wrong now that eventually makes you right in the end. It's a self fulfilling closed mindedness.

The truth is if Hillary were replaced now, her supporters would back her replacement quicker than Sanders supporters backed Hillary.
Most would, but there might be a small segment that would instead feel dis-illusioned about the whole thing and just stay home. Would AA voters turn out as well for Biden? Or Sanders?

If a move is to be made, it needs to be soon.

The small segment Hillary's replacement would lose from Hillary's support would be a small fraction of the support they would gain from those who don't support Hillary at all.

yep, and he is the VP for the most ruinous, most divisive, most incompetent, least capable President this country has ever seen.  None of that matters, however, as people will flock to vote for lovable Joe if the dems just wise up and do the ol' switcheroo at this late date.

Makes perfect sense.
Such a compelling, unbiased post

Fwiw these are actually two Jeffrey Leeds emails:

First.

Second.

- And actually I don't think the first one that is sort of gossipy which is what people should notice, it's the second where Leeds says

My question is who the hell is Jeffrey Leeds. Yeah "Democratic megadonor", does he have inside baseball or no?
I don't see him on the attached list but he certainly has deep, deep pockets.  He also sits on the Board of a Powell charity (which I assume is why they are email pals) and used to clerk for a Supreme Court justice.

So what? That's why we have a vice President.

Unless she's already on her death bed (she's not unless you listen to the worst of the INternet nuts), I really don't care. President Kaine has a nice ring to it :)
so what? Look at all the days Hillary took off because of her health. Do you really want a sick President that has to spend every other day resting in bed?

A top five reason to vote for Hillary...she might die.

That's pretty funny.  As long as we're giving his emailed opinions such weight, any idea what he said about Trump in those leaked emails?
Read them.  Pretty funny stuff.  He dislikes both.  I like Colin a lot more after reading these.  His words are spot on.  HRC messes up everything she touches indeed.

Based upon what her supporters are posting in here, I think that's pretty clear.

Well, she's pretty much screwed - just like the rest of us.  Both are lying, corrupt pieces of ####.

Generic average democrat is far more likely to care about clean drinking water than generic average republican
You're assumption that Democrats care in the first place is completely wrong.  Democrats only care when it comes to getting votes.

NeverTrumpers aren't Republicans, they are saboteurs that put their pride above country, and don't care if liberals get complete control of the Supreme Court. Proof is when you told Tim you'd vote for Hillary if she didn't lie.
The saboteurs are the ones that can't think for themselves and then allow their chosen party to dictate what they should believe.  Easily led and easily fooled is what they are.
