Arguing to send a drone to make sure that OBL was there is different from arguing not to kill him.

-eta:

Mr. Biden said, in an account later confirmed by the White House.
- NYT, above.

She was asked about bin Laden at that event as well, and in her telling, the attendee said, “She and the CIA director were for the attack, and Biden and the secretary of defense were against the attack.”

Hillary outright lied about this.

Whether or not FBI agents are revolting against Comey, this is perhaps the perhaps the most succinct summary of the outrageous tipping of the scales and complicity of the FBI in covering up crimes that I've seen.

“In my 25 years with the bureau, I never had any ground rules in my interviews,” said retired agent Dennis V. Hughes, the first chief of the FBI’s computer investigations unit.
- People may not like the NYP but this seems like a very true statement. There's stuff that happened here that I've never heard of in any investigation.

Comey made the 25 agents who worked on the case sign nondisclosure agreements.
- I keep trying to figure out how this 'revenge' of sorts will take place. Resignations? The Clintons would be pleased with internal critics at the FBI purging themselves. Comey has already dumped the interview notes (thank you) and actually that is unprecedented. He has testified twice and given one presser himself, though the Clintons apparently knew about it in advance.

So what could these angry agents do? They are going to have to leak information on the back end.

There isn't much they could leak as the FBI did a Goodell on a lot of the evidence

Hillary outright lied about this.
When asked whether to go ahead with this operation he said no we need more confirmation. That's the claim and that's exactly what happened?

What if we waited for additional confirmation and Bin Laden changed locations due to the hesitation?

The Reuters 50 state polls and the Emerson polls are garbage this cycle.

Emerson is all automated and only calls landlines. Their results are worthless. They have Clinton up in AZ and losing CO..
Yeah that's nuts.

The claim: Biden claimed that 99% of the room was hesitant, including Biden and Hillary, but it sounds like Biden and they wanted better confirmation that OBL was there. EXCEPT for Panetta, whom Obama relied on and went with what he said, which makes sense because as CIAD we can be sure he knew the best intelligence from the ground and air.

The WH - per that NYT article - confirmed this version.

Hillary however claims that SHE and Panetta were FOR the attack, but Biden and SOD Gates were not. Clearly the WH backed Biden's version of events.

This is just one example of why I admire Obama so much.  The safe thing would have been to wait, gather more information, and 100% confirm OBL was there before making a politically risky decision.
He did a great job. I think Panetta and the CIA knew the score, I'm sure they didn't have to confirm it 3 different ways, Obama had the info and he acted on it, which is great.

I still remember how many conservatives here refused to give Obama any credit for Bin Laden: Jim11, tommyboy, Statorama, a few others. They tried to deny that Obama had anything to do with it.

Stick to the issue - Hillary claiming she told Obama "Go For It!" when the WH confirmed Biden's version of events.

Admiration goes out the window when a drone strike is acceptable for US citizens.  Doesn't erase the credit for eliminating OBL though.

Well...he didn't really have anything to do with it. Yes, he said take him out when advisors told him their opinion. Still good that it happened versus not, but he didn't do anything.

Interesting.  When asked about what Hillary said in those paid investment bank speeches, she said she gave them what they wanted -- including tales of the Bin Laden raid.  In light of this, it's easy to assume she inflated her role and support like she did in that speech.  This may be paritially why she doesn't want to release those transcripts.... because she was out and out lying and throwing Biden under the bus.

The only one of those that's sad is Warren Weinstein.

After news of his death was confirmed by the White House on Thursday, Weinstein's wife Elaine issued a statement, saying she was "devastated by this news and the knowledge that my husband will never safely return home." Weinstein's family had been advocating for his release for years.

"We do not yet fully understand all of the facts surrounding Warren’s death, but we do understand that the U.S. government will be conducting an independent investigation of the circumstances. We look forward to the results of that investigation. But those who took Warren captive over three years ago bear ultimate responsibility," Elaine wrote. "I can assure you that he would still be alive and well if they had allowed him to return home after his time abroad working to help the people of Pakistan."

Whoa!  Speech transcripts leaked from Podesta.

Hillary said, "I mean, politics is like sausage being made. It is unsavory, and it always has been that way, but we usually end up where we need to be. But if everybody’s watching, you know, all of the back room discussions and the deals, you know, then people get a little nervous, to say the least. So, you need both a public and a private position."

She migh as well have said "wink, wink!"  No one can watch if you're careful to do the back room deals in private.  Outrageous.  Her position is that you have to be careful of transparency! It confirms that suspicions of her are rooted in her philosophy.... one she was willing to lay out to private interests.

Not really interested in "sad".  When it comes to government it's just/unjust.  That's what I care about    We've had epic fails in this department.  It's undeniable.

*CLINTON IS AWARE OF SECURITY CONCERNS AROUND BLACKBERRIES*

*Clinton: “At The State Department We Were Attacked Every Hour, More Than Once An Hour By Incoming Efforts To Penetrate Everything We Had. And That Was True Across The U.S. Government.”*

CLINTON: But, at the State Department we were attacked every hour, more than once an hour by incoming efforts to penetrate everything we had. And that was true across the U.S. government. And we knew it was going on when I would go to China, or I would go to Russia, we would leave all of our electronic equipment on the plane, with the batteries out, because this is a new frontier. And they’re trying to find out not just about what we do in our government. They’re trying to find out about what a lot of companies do and they were going after the personal emails of people who worked in the State Department. So it’s not like the only government in the world that is doing anything is the United States. But, the United States compared to a number of our competitors is the only government in the world with any kind of safeguards, any kind of checks and balances. They may in many respects need to be strengthened and people need to be reassured, and they need to have their protections embodied in law. But, I think turning over a lot of that material intentionally or unintentionally, because of the way it can be drained, gave all kinds of information not only to big countries, but to networks and terrorist groups, and the like. So I have a hard time thinking that somebody who is a champion of privacy and liberty has taken refuge in Russia under Putin’s authority. And then he calls into a Putin talk show and says, President Putin, do you spy on people? And President Putin says, well, from one intelligence professional to another, of course not. Oh, thank you so much. I mean, really, I don’t know. I have a hard time following it. [Clinton Speech At UConn, 4/23/14]

She's right and everyone who understands politics knows it.
She's saying this to corporations paying her hundreds of thousands of dollars, while she's maintaining a private Foundation and running for President.  It is a monster conflict of interest to tell her benefactors essentially, "Knock on my back door."  Would you give to the Foundation as a private interest after that comment? I would!  It's a prescription for pay to play!

Who knows? I wasn't there. I really don't care what Hillary recommended. You'll note I haven't used the Bin Laden story as part of my evaluation of her time as SoS. That's because it was a command decision.

Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Beaver Cleaver? Obama has a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for American terrorist killed in drone attacks, and you curse Obama. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that those American deaths, while occasionally tragic, probably saved lives; and Obama's decisions, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives.

Damn straight I will fight.....I'm Batman.

You're a child if this bothers you

Lost in the news about Trump is that, per MSNBC, Russian hackers have released notes from Hillary's speeches to Goldman Sachs.

I have no idea what the details are, but the summary, per MSNBC, is that Hillary spoke in favor of open immigration and as free trade as possible. If that is true then I like her even more than before (though I recognize that others may not).

You cracked the code. Hillary invented the never heard before metaphor that politics is like making sausage to signal to companies that she's open for business. Shameful

News could come out that she has toe fungus and you'd tell us how much you like her even more.

She's demonstrated a troubling blurring of lines between public and private and she's justifying this the same way a married man justifies an affair...  hey, we both want this...  no one has to know.  We just need a house in the country, a house in this city to make this successful.  Oh, and by the way donors, I have a very private house in the city so if you're looking to ####...

Let's say Trump dropped out this weekend and Pence took top of the ticket.... I think he jumps to an immediate lead.  Hillary should be careful what she wishes for.

Hillary has spent decades making over a hundred million off of special interest and foreign interests.   Who does she owe what favors to?
