I agree the Clintons do, to a fair degree, bring it on themselves. There is a reason for the witch hunt. Whether you want to admit it or not, the Clintons bring it on themselves. This is not about finding nothing or learning what we already know. It piles on the crap of how the Clinton's operate. Their ability to leave the white house with essentially nothing and use nothing but their political influence and power and sell it to the highest bidder to become obscenely rich. They continually operate in the grey areas of the law which any lay person looking at it sees how blatantly unethical and sleazy it is. Obama has his haters, but he avoids much of the scandalous crap the Clintons are always rolling in because he is not renting out the Lincoln bedroom, or collecting FBI files on enemies, or investing in cattle futures, or taking in huge donations and collecting huge speaking fees from foreign governments, or the other 1000's things that the Clinton's routinely do.
That's said, while I never liked and never fully trusted Hillary, which grew into hate not that different than some we see in this thread when she carpet bagged for self promoting reasons in my state, about a year or so ago I just had enough. I began to look a little more critically at the issue and recognized that my vitriol extended well beyond what was appropriate even the legitimate concerns... and regardless, the hate bleed well over from politics and policy into the personally realm.
As I peeled the onion, painfully mind you as I had a lot of up close hatred for Hillary piled up for a decade plus myself, my understanding became that I got wrapped up in the hype, the hate machine and the emotional vitriol... and what really turned me was when I saw those far left of me, under the Bernie mantle, take up these same tactics.
At the same time I began to smut I had been part of the problem, I realized that this divisive and over the top language and lack of depth or context now really threatened our national well being, as it set a stage for the Republicans (and at the time Cruz seemed no better than Trump in many ways).
So yes. Much of this is her and the Clintons own doing. Worse yet the DNCs complicity in it directly and in gearing the last four years to culminate in her crowning as nominee...
but that does not excuse the level of hate, vitriol, lack of thinking things through with proper context and nuance and worst of all, just taking the most base of approaches to communicate your position when others are at least trying to engage in important conversations.
