I never heard of Trafalgar, but the Nevada numbers alone shoot their credibility, As mentioned a few pages back, Jon Ralston says that with the overwhelming numbers of Latinos in early voting, Trump is done in Nevada. And their phraseology is these races is interesting, perhaps showing their bias with strong hidden vote, Shy Trump voter and Who do you think your neighbors are voting for? - as it seems to fit the narrative that Trump's real supporters are not being honest with pollsters.
They're expecting a brexit type election. They believe the truth lies between what respondents say about themselves and their neighbors. A 2 for 1. Based in Atlanta.

I keep hearing Brexit used as an analogy but I am very skeptical in drawing any conclusions. Historically there hadn't been a lot polling done on national referendums in the UK, so there weren't the prior statistical comparisons as with presidential elections we have this country. Also, the difference in the Brexit outcome fell between in the margin of error in many pre-vote polls showing it 52%-48% against, which flipped on voting day, not a Truman/Dewey situation that was a stunning unexpected upset.

he's only been above 50% for the last 5 months. The prior 3 years he was well under 50%. Against the backdrop of the undisputed TWO worst presidential candidates ever a bag of #### would get a 60% approval rating.

But it is almost 60% and the election is tomorrow. This isn't George Bush campaigning for McCain. And his approval ranking should have absolutely nothing to do with who is currently running.

The chick who's a six suddenly looks like a four when she's standing next to two nines.

People are now looking at Obama compared to the two candidates and thinking of Obama, "He suddenly doesn't look so bad."
I guess you'd have to have gone out and socialized with chicks to understand.

They waited faithfully for the bombshell that never dropped. I guess the only hope they have now is for the Russians to hack the election today.

That wasn't a very good speech. It was pretty mediocre on its face, but especially poor in contrast to the lineup of excellent speeches before hers.
But, no one here expects you to think critically, judge objectively, or analyze fairly anything to do with Hillary, so it's no surprise you'd think that speech was better than average.

I just got to cast a general election vote for Hillary Clinton. @NCCommish @adonis (wherever you are) @SaintsInDome2006 -- that's about 10 years of back and forth from when she announced in 2007 to now.
It's crazy to think how much politics has changed since then. Obama Clinton was a fun sparring match where I left defeated but energized about electing Barack Obama. Flash forward to now and I just feel drained. The polarizatioN, the vitriol... It's not as fun this time around.
But I'm still proud to say #ImWithHer

About the Dodd-Frank discussion, I just thought this from Bill Clinton from November 2015 was pretty interesting:

That whole speech is a pretty good insight into the Clintons' views on the economy. Sure sounds to me like they plan to 'tweak' Dodd-Frank and open up the gates again. 'Responsibly', of course.

I posted this in the Trump thread but figured I would post here too:
Today, my partner and I are meeting with an estate planning attorney. I am the biological mother of our child, and if something happens to me, our daughter will go to PA, with my Trump loving family. I will NEVER allow this. And, it's pure coincidence that we are doing this on Election Day, but it needs to be done.
Our attorney said there are several other clients who are doing the exact same thing we are ... Estate planning so their children are not raised by Trump loving family members ?

I feel the need to explain to people who like Hillary why I do not. I apologize for the length of this post, skip it if you like, but the reasons are many and take some explaining. I will probably get flamed in some ways, which is ok, but I would really rather hear honest refutations of my thoughts. These are opinions so some of them are not open to fact-based arguments!
Hillary has essentially stopped being a human being. By this I mean her ambitions have superseded most of the normal human activities we all have. Since her time in the 70s as Bill began his career, her entire life has been about the acquisition of power. The day's talking points, the messaging needed. Nothing will stand in the way of her ambition, not Bill's bimbos and victims (there are some of both), not friendship, not shame.
I recently heard Dale Brown (former LSU basketball coach and noted NCAA hater) speak at a banquet. He spoke about meeting with Mother Theresa in India (Dale is a name-dropper). He asked Mother Theresa the hardest part of her job. She said it was asking people for money. Here is this woman living with and attempting to aid the poorest, most destitute human beings on the planet. She saw people die daily. Yet to her the toughest part was asking people for money. This is a human reaction. Nobody likes asking for money, because in their natural human mind it is an admission of need or simply an uncomfortable idea to approach. Hillary has spent her entire adult life asking for money. Not for helping the sick and the poor, but to forward her acquisition of power. She does so without shame, without the slightest bit of discomfort in relying on another person's generosity. Whether it is for her own political campaigns or for the Clinton Foundation, her life for 40ish years has been a series of daily incidents of asking people for money. By all measures she and Bill are the greatest political money acquirers in the history of the world. The Clintons' can charge a university hundreds of thousands of dollars for a 20-minute speech in which they will rail against the high cost of an education and demand free tuition and college loan forgiveness. They do so without the slightest inclination of shame. The natural human discomfort in asking for money has disappeared. They are not alone in this as politicians, but they have taken it farther than anyone in history.
George Stephanopoulos and his wife gave $75,000 to the Clinton Foundation a few years back. During the transaction do you think Hillary looked at George and said, "George you are a journalist. Don't you think giving us this money will taint you in the eyes of the public? I would hate to have your career be any way impacted by something like this. I can't let a friend like you risk that." Or do you think she pocketed the money without a second thought? George Stephanopoulos knows the Clinton's very well. He worked with them for years. Why would George Stephanopoulos risk his journalistic reputation to give money to the Clintons? Friendship or fear? Knowing the Clintons, he is more comfortable writing the check and risking the fallout than he is telling them that he can't possibly show that kind of favoritism as a journalist and risk being left out of their inner sanctum. Suddenly Scott Pelley is getting the exclusive interviews!
When accepting multi-million dollar donations to her foundation, do you think Hillary ever told any of the donors, "thanks so much for your generous gift. You know I may be running for president soon and I am 100% committed to public integrity. Just to make sure we are all on the same page, I want it to be understood right now as I accept this $1,000,000 gift that there will be no special favors for you if I am elected." Or did she just pocket the money? The Clintons raised untold millions of dollars in donations to the Clinton Foundation. While the foundation does good charitable works, why does it collect so much money as opposed to other charities? If you are a billionaire and you have money to give to charity, why would you choose the Clinton Global Initiative over the United Way or the Salvation Army? What possible motivation do they have to donate such extraordinary sums except to buy political access?
Even if Hillary is the most ethical politician ever, it is quite obvious that the people giving the money believed she was not. They believed they were gaining access at the very minimum and a goldmine of potential business at the worst. There is no indication that the Clinton's ever discouraged their donors from thinking that. Even if you think Hillary is great, aren't these donors the lowest, filthiest people in the world?
I have spent much of the last five years caring for my elderly parents and my wife's dying father. These have been difficult times, but it is what you do as a family member. It's a normal thing that nearly everybody has to face. If Bill Clinton were to suffer a debilitating stroke or become afflicted with Alzheimer's, what would President Hillary Clinton do? Would she gracefully decide against running for re-election to care for her ailing husband or would she exploit his condition to gain sympathy and to propel herself to the next election cycle? The idea of her stepping aside is preposterous. Her life is the acquisition of power, not human interaction or family responsibility.
Huma Abedin has been Hillary's closest friend and ally for over a decade. The recent email controversy could have ended with Huma in legal trouble for mishandling classified information. If that had occurred, what are the possibilities that Hillary would stick by her longtime friend? Huma turns in her resignation. Would Clinton gladly accept it and go into crisis management mode or would she say "this is my oldest and dearest friend and I am sticking by her regardless of how it affects my political fortunes." There is no doubt which path she would take. She would never risk her own fortunes even for her closest friend.
When Donna Brazile leaked debate questions to Hillary Clinton, did Clinton reject it as unfair or did she suck it up like a donation from George Stephanopoulos?
It is a tragedy that Democrats have treated Bill Clinton like a rock star. His treatment of women should make him a Pariah, but politics trumps everything. Hillary's behavior in defending him and being the leader of the Bimbo Eruptions unit should make her the antithesis of a feminist icon. Bill Clinton can go to a university and get upwards of $750,000 for a speech. yet students have been expelled from those very universities for accusations of sexual assault far less credible than those of his accusers. If he did to Kathleen Willey while a student at Harvard what he actually did to her in the Oval Office, he would have been banished from campus. Now, he is the commencement speaker. I believe that when Democrats look the other way at his personal failings and Hillary's complicity that they are becoming just like the Clintons. Democrats' lust for power and desire to win trump all ethics just like when Hillary pockets that $75K from George Stephanopoulos. Winning is more important than doing the right thing.
I do not believe that Hillary is criminally corrupt. I think she has a lust for power that overtakes good judgement and she endures a never ending series of mini scandals, all of which could be avoided with better judgement. I believe that lust for power is too great for her to be trusted to make decisions as our president. As soon as she is elected, the re-election campaign begins. She will never risk a second term to do the right thing.
I voted for Gary Johnson. I think Trump is awful, but I will be rooting for him to win today for the reasons above. Trump is a passing fad, while Clinton represents a long-term threat.

I have no idea what my parents think about Donald Trump. They're lifetime Republicans, but we don't talk politics that often. Regardless, I would never have had any qualms with them raising my kids if something had happened to my wife and I when they were younger. It's kind of sad that you're making these kinds of decisions based on partisan politics.
