Official Hillary Clinton 2016 thread (13 Viewers)

It is not hypocrisy to point out lack of umbrage among those who were apoplectic about the Clinton Foundation.
We were given two of the worst POTUS candidates in history. It's a given that those that nominated them and blindly supported them are hypocrites. You, Tim, and few others in the thread are the poster children of this truth. The Trump thread has them as well.

Yet you continuously support politicians who are not in favor of the carbon tax and do not favor significant wealth redistribution
First off, I haven't had much choice with carbon tax. If Obama had made that a priority in 2012 I would have voted for him. The last candidate to make it a priority was John McCain in 2008, and I supported him until Palin. Bernie was for it, but not as a priority issue.

I am not in favor of wealth redistribution. BIG doesnt do that. It's a replacement for welfare programs and probably more efficient.

And tim, if you're reading this, screw you too.
:lmao:  I haven't even commented on this subject.

Truth is, (and I guess I'm consistent about this,) I'm indifferent to it. If Trump wants to be corrupt, I don't really care so long as he is a good President- which I hope for but don't expect.

A certain level of corruption is standard in politics and has been forever. It's never been a huge issue for me- not with Hillary, not with Trump or anybody else. I don't care much about hypocrisy either. My concerns are: what do you do that makes society prosper, or suffer?

A certain level of corruption is standard in politics and has been forever.
So because a wrong is standard and has been forever, it's okay?

In 1860, slavery was standard and had been forever.

Even today, police violence against blacks is standard and has been forever.

I'm sorry, Tim, but corrupt in government is wrong, and we shouldn't accept it anymore than we should accept any social injustices. We shouldn't stick our head and sand and say "Meh, that's just the way things are".

If you can fight it, be my guest. I've never said I was for corruption. It's just not a huge priority for me.

Slavery caused the suffering of millions of people so I don't find that a good analogy.

As I mentioned yesterday in a thread. I don't click on unidentified links to be Rick-rolled. Don't waste your time in the future because I won't look at them.
It links to FBGs.

Do you not understand how computers work? The URL appears at the bottom of the screen, people from 1-80 seem to understand this. I'm guessing there is a computer class at a local community college you could take. Here's what it links to:

Trump's companies pose the exacts same conflict of interest problems that the Clintons' Foundation, Teneo & speaking fees issues posed. It's really just out of the frying pan into the fire as far as ethics are concerned.

Government corruption keeps the rich rich, and the poor poor. It's interesting that you aren't bothered by that.  :coffee:

Not on my screen it doesn't. All I see is a highlighted link with your description. I have not idea where it really leads to or what it is about.

Will those who had such determined umbrage about email servers and the Clinton Foundation get exercised about this?

For foreign diplomats, Trump hotel is place to be

About 100 foreign diplomats, from Brazil to Turkey, gathered at the Trump International Hotel this week to sip Trump-branded champagne, dine on sliders and hear a sales pitch about the U.S. president-elect’s newest hotel.

The event for the diplomatic community, held one week after the election, was in the Lincoln Library, a junior ballroom with 16-foot ceilings and velvet drapes that is also available for rent.

Some attendees won raffle prizes — among them overnight stays at other Trump properties around the world — allowing them to become better acquainted with the business holdings of the new commander in chief.

“The place was packed,” said Lynn Van Fleit, founder of the nonprofit Diplomacy Matters Institute, which organizes programs for foreign diplomats and government officials. She said much of the discussion among Washington-based diplomats is over “how are we going to build ties with the new administration.”

Back when many expected Trump to lose the election, speculation was rife that business would suffer at the hotels, condos and golf courses that bear his name. Now, those venues offer the prospect of something else: a chance to curry favor or access with the next president.
More than a dozen watchdog organizations penned a letter to Trump on Thursday, urging him to create a true blind trust or liquidate the assets. (Under a blind trust, an independent trustee with no familial ties would manage the properties.)

“Failure to follow this course of action will create conflicts of interest of unprecedented magnitude,” groups including Common Cause wrote.

Rep. Katherine M. Clark (D-Mass.) introduced a bill this week that would require presidents to take similar steps.
Oh. She filed a bill this week. Just thought of this possibility, eh?

Guess we'll add BIG as another item you don't understand.

Voting for people who will do less about climate change than their opponents is also another example of how you don't really support policies that get rid of the negatives of trade.

Like the rest of these free trade true believers, you're not willing to address the negatives associated with our current trade deals.  you're  just an  useful tool of plutocracy, same as always

Also, I used BIG as an example of wealth redistribution.  so, if you have your own custom definition of BIG, just focus on that piece.  Because you do not favor policies or vote for politicains that address inequality. Full stop.

Does this mean you're finally starting to get it?

By the way....a "Hillary Hater" has to approve of Donald's behavior but rip Hillary for hers to be a hypocrite.  I want a show of hands here of all the people who were ripping Hillary for this behavior but approve of it under Trump....TIA.  If there are none, that's being consistent not a hypocrite.

I am very much for the carbon tax and have no problem with BIG
Figures you would favor two things that promote not  freedom liberty nor independence.

Carbon taxes and guaranteed income for the out of work.

Bwahahahahahahahahah

It's ####### comical.

Unless you want to live in a society like Venezuela.

LOL.   if they think renting a floor at a trump resort is gonna get them access,  They  are morons.   That boat has sailed, if it was ever in port.

They should go ask Clinton foundation for a refund.    but that would be commingling of funds and the clintons give money back.

I am bothered by that stated outcome. The causes and the solutions, IMO, are different from yours.
You are middle of the road tim.  Maybe once you knew the reason America became the most powerful country in the history of the world.   But you forgot, or you never really understood.

Also, you guys kept telling us that unless we have definitive proof of an actual quid pro quo, we have no basis for complaining about the mere appearance of impropriety or conflict of interest.

Still think that way?
depends.   if we are talking a about a democrat or republican.

unleashing clinton inc.  that was what you supported for 2 years.   jesus tim.   jesus.

By the letter of the law, Hillary is a felon.  The intent thing was invented by Comey as it is not in the law, at least not in the applicable law to this case. I don't think there has ever been a case where so much classified information was so recklessly exposed.  Comey ignored the law since it had not beeen used before.  But yet why was the law written if it is not to be enforced? Insisting it is absurd to think Hillary should have been indicted is really to be ignorant of what the law says.

The bolded is abunch of garbage. They found 34 (give or take a couple) emails, half of those classified only to NOFORN (the lowest level of classification, of which CAN legally be discussed with ANY citizen). Then, without looking at the specific emails, you're assuming that a large quantity of information was exposed...a truly terrible assumption. A simple reference to a secret meeting could make a document classified. A single reference in a single line of a 10 page email could cause the document to become classified. Claims of huge quatities of classified material falling into the wrong hands are ridiculous. Without looking at the specific 34 emails in question, there is simply no way to know.

I love when people defend Clinton's email situation.  We will never know what was on thousands of those emails since they were deleted.  Having her own server was no accident.

Silence is deafening on this one....glad it's something most of us can agree on....let's chalk this up to a learning opportunity and move on

I recall our discussions around the 2008 election, and it appears your political ideology has shifted significantly. Just an observation as I once appreciated your unbiased opinion.

YUP, Trump's talking to world leaders over unsecured lines.

huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-meeting-foreign-leader_us_582cecace4b030997bbd71fb …

- Squiz you're late to this story, it's been discussed plenty in the Trump thread.

- But do you understand why speaking about classified matters over unsecured lines is a problem?
Gee, I wasn't aware Trump related subject matter can only be brought up in one thread. Seems to me Hillary's emails were not discussed exclusively in this thread, but I could be mistaken.

the clintons where offering a quid pro quo.

you think that you can get a quo pro quid.

What you think they can say...."i rented a floor for a week.  how bout if i rent the floor for a month.  can i talk to trump if i rent it for two months?

MORONIC.
That's a weird misspelling that keeps happening.

squistion said:
No I didn't. I am just pointing out more hypocrisy and inconsistency from Trump supporters and Hillary haters.
These are weird posts. They involve issues you don't care about personally. You claim Hillary critics don't raise them when they do. And you won't look at demonstrations of that.

Point was it was brought up elsewhere but you're 48 hours behind even caring about this issue so you don't even realize that.

It wasn't brought up here and I don't read everything in the Trump as compulsively as some (and 3-4 pages sometimes are added since my most recent log in).  And of course, over the duration of this thread people have commented on "news" critical of Hillary that had raised and linked ad nauseam, yet rarely any complaints about that from the anti-Hillary crowd.

People aren't commenting on it here because the election is over. Hillary is retired.

Its also being discussed in the Pidge of the day thread
Also in the hypothetical questions thread where some people get outraged and refuse to answer variations of questions posed in past presidential debates (How dare you ask me what I would do in that situation! Beyond the pale!)
