Pretty much on board with this

Except I'd flip the order of #2 and #3 outcomes. And I'd be okay with Teddy at #3 but tepid at best on Manziel in the same spot.
I'm with you on flipping 2 and 3. I am not onboard with trading up. We need those picks. I am a believer in Teddy. I know he's "falling", but based on watching him the last couple of years, I'm good with him. I am also a JFF fan and would take no issue with his selection.

Just curious on how most of you Jags' fans feel about Manziel? My brother is a huge Jags fan and I follow them the most besides for my team (Steelers). I really like the direction your franchise is heading. I feel that Manziel is the only pick for you guys at 3. Whether or not you feel his talent is worthy of the number 3 pick. The attention he will bring to the team will be huge. I am a pretty big Manziel fan by the way, and feel he will have success in the NFL. What are your thoughts on Manziel with the 3rd overall pick?

I think that if you asked 10 different people, you'd get 10 different answers, all for varying reasons. He's just a polarizing guy. I'm a fan and would be good with him to pick number three. I'd like it even better if we could trade down and then select him.

This is the same "logic" the national folks tried to use with Tebow.

Not trying to be negative towards you because the national media has perpetuated this whole "jags need to draft X to fill the stands " nonsense.

The facts are that as abysmal and talent-deprived as the Jags have been, their attendance has been reasonable.

You draft Manziel at #3 if you think he's a franchise QB and the best one available. Period. End of story.

I don't agree with that assessment but IMHO that is the ONLY reason why they should draft Manziel.

I much prefer Manziel to Bortles, though. And if Manziel were to make it in the NFL, Fisch is a pretty creative OC who could probably get the most out of his strengths.

I never said anything about attendance at the stadium. I'm well aware of the attendance numbers. I feel he is the only pick for a couple of teams. Whether we like it or not the NFL is an entertainment business and there is no bigger entertainment right now in football than this guy. I agree with you about taking the best player but with Henne you're not going anywhere. You can have 4 Sammy Watkins and 11 Clowneys, and you're not going to the playoffs. You need a QB, but the other 3 QB's aren't going make the Jags relevant, JFF can. When the gap between evaluating the QBs this year is so small and unknown I think he is the best option. Like I said just trying to get opinions from true Jag's fans. Thanks and good luck in the draft.

Kiper/Mcshay mock had this:

3. Jacksonville Jaguars - McShay's pick: Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo

Analysis: We need a quarterback, but Mack is one of the four elite players in this draft class, and we think he's long enough to play the "Leo" role (hybrid DE/OLB) in Gus Bradley's defensive scheme, but if not, we can move him to linebacker. Regardless, he's an every-down impact defender.

39. Jacksonville Jaguars - McShay's pick: Tom Savage, QB, Pittsburgh

Analysis: Savage is the fourth-ranked QB in my board, and with Mack being our choice at No. 3, this is a good spot to try to land a quarterback whom we can hopefully develop into a starter.

70. Jacksonville Jaguars - Kiper's pick: Josh Huff, WR, Oregon

Analysis: With additions to the pass rush and a QB prospect in the fold, Huff comes in as insurance with the uncertainty surrounding Justin Blackmon. Huff will make the contested catch and is underrated as a playmaker with the ball in his hands.

#### all that.

These picks are awful. Just awful.

Yup. I'd quit watching this draft after those three picks. And I kept watching after they took a punter at 3.70. So there's that.

I keep hearing that Jags fans would only like to draft one of the quarterbacks at a later pick, such as pick #6. I don't get this. Quarterback is the most important position on the field. I know the media says it's not worth it, but if you feel he's a franchise QB, then you draft him at three. Really, what's the difference between 3 and a few spots after that?

It's clearly not worth trading back to 6 if you view a QB as a franchise guy. That's just silly. I do t see a franchise guy in this class but that doesn't mean there isn't. If Jack does, then they should take him at 3. Moving back only risks he won't be there.

I think people view it as Mack or Watkins > QB. But Qb + and extra pick > Mack or Watkins.

Personally I think if you trade back to 6, you either take Evans or you try trading back again.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- EverBank Field's new video boards will be put to the test for the first time with a Carrie Underwood concert on July 26.

The concert will is part of an unveiling event at the stadium, which will kick off at 6 p.m. for a friendly match between Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan's Fulham FC team and D.C. United.

According to a release from the Jaguars, the video boards, measuring 60 feet high by 362 feet wide, will be unveiled after the match. Underwood will then take the stage for a 75-minute concert.

Jaguars season ticket holders will be able to get into the evening's events for free, requesting as many tickets as they hold seats for.

Non-season ticket holders will be able to pre-register for and purchase available tickets at a later date by visiting this page on the Jaguars website.

As we approach another draft and are no mortal lock to draft a QB this year, it needs to be pointed out that this franchise has drafted 5 quarterbacks. In it's entire existence. Hard to fathom really.

Don't know if it's been mentioned before but the Jaguars have a fans group (they prefer the term 'supporters group' a la English soccer) called Bold City Brigade. They're mostly 20-somethings that have grown up with the Jaguars.

Anyhow, BCB not only has a contingent heading up for the draft, they also have a tent set up in in JIA concourse for those departing

Although it's an independent group run by fans, the team has been very appreciative. This morning they sent over Jaxon de Ville to send off a few of the early birds.

ETA apparently Jaxon got put to work

It's pretty cool that the team set all of this up for the BCB. And it really shows that they are more aware of what's going on with their fan base.

Rotoworld:

According to the Houston Chronicle, "word's spreading among media" in New York that the Jaguars will take Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel at No. 3.
Most pundits have the Jags targeting Buffalo OLB Khalil Mack or Clemson WR Sammy Watkins. But when your starting quarterback is Chad Henne, nothing can be ruled out. "Manziel would probably be the one guy you could plug in there sooner rather than later just because his style of play isn't going to change much from Year 1 to Year 2," GM Dave Caldwell said last week. Making Johnny a Jaguar would energize an organization that has been crippled by the Blaine Gabbert pick in 2010.

So a Houston newspaper has the scoop about who a team wants two picks behind the Houston team?

Sounds to me like someone is looking to build up a trade market for pick #1.

Certainly could see it happening and that it's a reasonable fit, but the fact that it comes out of Houston was interesting I thought.

My thought is the Rams trying to build interest im the #2 pick. Freakin' Jeff Fisher getting one over on the Jags...again.

Take Watkins #3 then best QB available with their early 2nd round pick. That offense needs playmakers! I'm sure Caldwell can make that defense tick with the later round picks and all the D-line FAs he picked up.

Rotoworld:

Citing a source, ESPN's Britt McHenry reported Wednesday that the Jaguars "aren't as high on Teddy Bridgewater as some other teams are."
Bridgewater isn't in play for the Jaguars at No. 3, and it's probably a legitimate question whether they'd snap him up at No. 39. The Jags used analytics as they determined Luke Joeckel would be their top-rated player in the 2013 draft. Analytics suggest Bridgewater's small hands will be an impediment to his future, though his completion rate would help him in a metrics-based approach.

If Buf is serious about moving up, I think Jack should be on the phone with them. Move back to 9, draft you're QB of the future and gain a 2nd.

The Jaguars just paid the tab for an hour of drinking for 130 BCB members. Twitter is gonna be great for the rest of the night.

Rotoworld:

Appearing on Thursday's SportsCenter Special, ESPN's Britt McHenry confirmed Sammy Watkins and Khalil Mack are "in the mix" for the Jaguars at No. 3.
Per McHenry, the Jags are also open to taking a signal caller, presumably Johnny Manziel. The Jags have needs across the board, and are a good bet to take the best-available player unless they have their heart set on Johnny Football.

Related: Jaguars, Khalil Mack
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the "widespread feeling" around the league is that Johnny Manziel will come off the board between No. 3 and No. 13.
Schefter lists the Jaguars at No. 3, the Bucs at No. 7, the Vikings at No. 8 and the Rams at No. 13 as Manziel's most likely suitors. According to ESPN's Ed Werder, "some people in the league" who know Texans coach Bill O'Brien "well" believe he wants to take Manziel at No. 1 overall, but "can't justify doing so" with Jadeveon Clowney and Khalil Mack on the board. Werder hinted Manziel could be a possibility for the Texans in a trade down. Browns coach Mike Pettine has said Manziel is "in the discussion" at No. 4.

Related: Texans, Vikings, Buccaneers, Jaguars, Rams
According to Profootballtalk.com, the Jaguars are "believed to be seriously considering" Buffalo OLB Khalil Mack at No. 3 overall.
PFT's Mike Florio acknowledges Clemson WR Sammy Watkins "could be in play" at 3 as well. This late in the draft process, the majority of mocks have Watkins going third to the Jaguars, though Mack would more logically fit a team building to play strong defense and run the football with Toby Gerhart. That said, drafting A.J. Green first and Andy Dalton second in 2011 worked out reasonably well for the Bengals. There are more than one ways to skin the cat.

I like this pick for the team and player. Bortles is my favorite QB in the draft from a potential standpoint, but I don't think he should start day1.

Ugh. Don't like it. Thought Bortles was overrated. At least he can sit behind Henne for awhile.

They couldn't Buffalo to trade up with them?
