***Official Jays Thread*** They spent $234 Million on this? (3 Viewers)

OK...Lets start to speculate the Play Off roster. I Think the pitchers are the toughest to nail down.

My list:

Martin

Navarro

EE

Smoak

Colabello

Goins

Pennington/Barney (I like Barney here)

Tulo

Donaldson

Revere

Pillar

Bautista

Pompey

Carrera

That is 14 position players, leaving 11 pitching spots.

Price

Stroman

Dickey

Estrada

(I assume they will use a 3 man rotation, but need a 4th in case)

Hendricks

Lowe

Cecil

Loup/Buhrle

Hawkins

Sanchez

Osuna

It is hard to keep Buhrle off the roster. They need a second lefty, and Loup has pitched better down the stretch. I think I go with Buhrle.

Ideas?

Barney cannot be on the playoff roster (was acquired after Sept 1).

Very tough decision on what to do with Buerhle. Definitely not starting him. Would hate to see him come out of the pen in a high leverage situation. He could be the long man but you're better off putting Hutch on the roster for that position.

I think Carerra gets left off in favour of Muni. Need more than just 1 backup IF imo.

I can't see Buehrle being used in the playoffs.

If you're not 100% sure of Tulo's health, Kawasaki and Pennington both likely make it, which means only one extra OF, which I think should be Pompey but will be Carrera.

Looks like it's a nothing game after Osuna pissed away a chance at the division last night. May as well let him get it. Was really surprised they pulled him Friday with aa 4 run lead.

The nice thing about Cito throwing out the first pitch tomorrow is I won't feel like I'm missing anything when I get there 2 minutes before the game starts (because it starts in the middle of the damn day).

Best of luck to you guys, although you won't need it. The experts have spoken. They will probably just call the series after 2 games.

My favorite team to play on Ken Griffey's Baseball on the SNES was the Toronto Blue Jays. The lineup of Henderson, White, Alomar, Carter, Olreud, Molitor, Fernandez was just too much to stop (Confession, I moved Sprague from 3B to C and renamed Alfredo Griffin as myself and put him at third. He couldn't hit so his job was to take pitches, but he had a max defense rating and I could turn triple plays with him and Alomar fairly regularly).

Anyway, good luck. This speed bump on the way to the WS should be fun for you guys.

Texas scares me,if they steal today's game, then come back with Hamels tomorrow, thats trouble.

I do think Toronto is the better team and the Jays bats should mostly have their way with the Rangers non-Hamels lefties but I'm nervous as hell despite Bogart's reverse jinxing here.

Price and Stroman can both come in relief anytime IMO, worry about game 5 when you're in it, all hands on deck till then IMO, ended up not needing Price but a runner or two on in the 8th, needed him ready for the lefties. Do it again tomorrow.

Yeah, I have more confidence in Stroman anyway, Price is now multi inning relief and Cecil replacement for these two games, maximize both pitchers innings?

This reminds me of the '01 World Series game 6 when Bob Brenly refused to take the Unit out of game 6 - so he could pitch in game 7 - despite having like a 15 run lead.
