Those games are an exhibition against Campbellsville University (my alma mater) and the 1st reg season game against Morehead. I think we might survive w/o him. The interesting thing to watch is how Bledsoe plays as the starting PG. He has looked just as good as Wall in recent scrimmages. BTW, Wall donated the money he had to pay back (a little over $700) to an organization in Lexington that will help provide the homeless w/ Thanksgiving meals.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. As I've said all along, Wall is a good kid, and a phenomenal talent. Can't wait to see him scorch the heels this year.

Curious what most of you have for your top 10 early on, POY and COY would be. I'll keep a running list of who you have and we'll see at the end of the year who's closest. A point for each preseason top 10 team you have that's in the final ranking of the top 10. You get an extra 3 points if you have the exact end of year ranking for that team. So, if you pick say Texas as #3 and they finish the last regular season poll at #3 then you'd get 4 points for them. Five points for the correct player of the year and 7 points for the correct coach of the year.

3. Texas
4. Kentucky
5. West Virginia
6. Villanova
7. Washington
8. Tennessee

And I think Michigan and/or Ohio State finish ahead of Purdue in the Big Ten

I'm not sure. I haven't seen the invite yet, but he said it was coming. I know he said he was debating between a 9 or 10 week season, so that would lead me to believe we might not start until conference play. Could be better since by then we'll have a good idea of the top players.

Sounds good to me. Pretty much everyone that talks hoops is in the league. It looks likely that Trevor Mbakwe, formerly of Marquette and some JuCo, is going to be suspended from the team. He was arrested after being identified as the dude who rode up to some girl on a bike and punched her in the face. Everything I've read basically clears him, he has something like 20+ people who can place him away from the area at the time of the assault, but it looks like AD Maturi is going to be a giant ##### and suspend him anyway.
Mbakwe would have been a likely starter for the Gophers, so this hurts. There are plenty of other guys who can step in, but this still sucks, especially since it's just some administrator trying to cover his own ###.
Honestly, I don't get it. This allegedly happened before he was ever on the Minnesota campus, so even if he ends up being found guilty how can this hurt the University?

No stats, but from what I'm hearing Drew was not terrible but certainly not special, and the play at the 2 and 3 generally was disappointing. Graves played a lot of minutes I think. Strickland disappointed and Roy sat him for the whole second half. Henson was what you'd expect two weeks into practice- raw but talented. The Wears apparently are more polished than most think. Deon Thompson is Deon Thompson.There's some mild concern from the UNC faithful but plenty of perspective. Two national titles in five years will do that for you. Also, last time we won a title, our first game of the rebuilding season was a close three-point win ... over Gardner-Webb. That March we buried a loaded #1 Duke team in Hansbrough Indoor Stadium. Thank you, RW.And since I've now had to read your posts Ripleys ... how is calling UNC "Chapel Hill College," throwing up smiley faces and LOLs at UNC's performance, and saying that a team was "embarrassed" in a scrimmage that no one saw relevant to college basketball? Feel free to explain to me how any of that is "relevant to college basketball." I'll be happy to read your next post.

I'll try and make this as simple as I can for you to understand. Chapel Hill College has a men's college basketball team. A greatly over-rated one, but basketball team none the less. This thread your in, right here, its about college basketball. This top 10 preseason team, it has more fans that post here than any other program. Your program was EMBARRASSED (a word used by one of YOUR team's players, who's coach made him delete it off his twitter account) by a vastly inferior Vandy team. If you don't understand why this isn't relevant to this thread, I can't help you. I can assure you, if Duke lost its 1st scrimmage by double digits, there would be plenty of posts here about it. Anything else I can explain for ya?

it really has been strange. Everything seems to indicate that KU is a long shot, yet he went to their midnight madness. Of course, this can be chalked up to the fact that it was his official visit and they paid for it). I say 65-35 Duke over UNC.Iowa St. fans over at Rivals still think they have a shot. If i were someone who enjoyed fishing, i'd have a field day tugging at their heartstrings.

I'd say if UNC makes significant contact with Adonis Thomas over the next two weeks, we'll have our answer. I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Count me in the Purdue is overrated camp. Yes, they're experienced, but Duke demolished them on their home court last year. They have good players, but i would bet my house against them winning a title. An athletic team like KU or UK would take them apart.

Fair question, and here is my answer. When your fan base calls our program DUKE, and our Coach "K" I'll happily call your team UNC. And again, a fun wager, I'm willing to bet you $100K that if we do a search for "dook" vs "chapel hill college or tarholes" you'll find FAR more "dook's" on these boards. So perhaps you should ask that same question to all your other unc buddies here. And since you are concerned about annoying people, and lowering the level of discourse, i guess you have no issues with the posts made at me right? Most hated, ####, etc? That's only because you couldn't. Duke won 30 games, the ACC Championship, and beat GT easily. GT was last in the conference. You run your mouth and take as many shots at Duke as anyone here. Official announcement made, and Mbakwe will be "held out of games until the situation is fully resolved" although he is still practicing and attending classes. Hopefully this goes away sooner rather than later.

I don't know what you want to use as qualifications for worst, but Andrew Brommer of Iowa was 5-22 last year (23%).

Back to the topic at hand, can you guys believe the season is almost here? As much as I like the NFL, when your favorite teams are the Panthers and Redskins, you get REALLY excited about basketball starting again!
I am so excited for this season, more than any other in my memory. UK starts tonight with an exhibition against Campbellsville (KY). Cal named his starting 5 for the game. CousinsPattersonDodsonMillerBledsoe

Ga Tech scrimmaged Western Kentucky and their coach was impressed with both Favors and Udofia. Shumpert did not play.

Favors is gonna be an absolute killer. I could see a situation where a team takes him # 1 over wall in the draft. (Favors plays great and leads GT further than people thing, UK struggles with youth and chemistry and Wall shows a lack of a jumper)I love watching Favors. The kid tries to dunk everything around the rim but he's got just enough of a game outside 10 feet to make you believe he could get there some day. Kinda reminds of when i saw Howard in HS (although Howard had a better body and was a lesser shooter). I would take Favors over Ed Davis, and thats not a knock against Davis.
