As far as I know Kodi does not use any form of pseudo streaming. It's true-streaming which means if you loose your internet connection you are going to loose the stream and playback.
FWIW, I'm running Kodi Krypton Beta on the new firestick and it's working for me (minus my initial note re. some movies not having streams, but I think in my case it's lack of streams and not an error like yours.) I did have an odd occurrence where Exodus showed up with nothing in it one time. I just deleted it and re-installed and it fixed it. Maybe try that?That was my first thought. But it's everything. Movies from years ago, TV shows, etc. I can do everything I've always been able to with my old one, but not the new one. I can download different builds, etc but no shows. I even deleted and reinstalled Kodi, but the same results.
I wonder if there's some kind of block built into the new Fire Stick
Just loaded Tomb Raider for Krypton. Looks good so far. Can you load multiple builds? Was looking at either Beast or No Limits.

I travel with a battery pack that outputs 2A to charge phone and use to power fire stick if can't access power easily.

was definitely where i was leaning - though the couple folks i know who got the jazzed up stick recommended it highly .... but i did some digging, found a wealth of walk-throughs out there, and the process seems easy enough.
K so you can push the apk from your droid to the firestick or use icons method or use a laptop to push the apk using adblink

To be fair, there is a slight degree of unreliability where sometimes things just don't work quite right (some folks never experience this, others do) and a risk that somehow there will be a shutdown/crackdown on this from a legal or provider level that may interfere with service. There's also the ethical dilemna that some may wrestle with regarding consuming/viewing content you'e technically not paid for. Same thing happened with Daddy's Home. Happens all the time with new movies that aren't out yet that have the same name as an older movie. The scrapers can't tell the difference.

I Havnt looked into it much but I think the channels may change weekly. The ppv events they have multiple streams in different quality to reduce buffering according to your download speeds.
