Official ** KODI ** streaming thread (tips, help, add ons, etc) (2 Viewers)

Sweet, thanks! I hadn't ever clicked on it thinking it was a bad stream or something.
If you're using a keyboard the back button often circumvents the need to pair (not Kodi's back arrow, your keyboard's), but I'm in the habit of pairing my device before looking for a movie now. Also, Openload streams work great without Kodi from any browser.

17 is working great for me. I put 16's skin on it for familiarity.

Suddenly having issues with Kodi. Used to use Phoenix & Exodus to watch movies.

Now no mater what movie I select I get "stream not available". What do I do?
Purely anecdotal solution here. I had the same problem with a new stick/install. tried numerous reboots, cache clearings, different builds, etc. Then, kind of on a hunch, i installed a VPN and viola! Everything works.

ETA: If indeed this was a case of my internet provider (who also happens to be a cable provider) blocking this, then Comcast can kiss my petunias

since ive been using kodi and cut the cord

my internet useage has gone from 3GB a month to 227GB last month and 161GB this month and we are only 8 days in  :lmao:

I'm trying out No Limits Magic build. Has been recommended by Husham and is one of the top downloaded for Krypton. Will let you know, but, has one thing I wanted that Titanium didn't; synopsis of shows and movies up front before you load them.

setup titanium it works well on fire tv box
I'm a little lost on this. Not sure how ours was set up but we have Exodus, Phoenix, and something Bob as the programs in the stick. Does that sound familiar? Always have quite a bit of lag and takes forever going from one screen to the next. So slow. Maybe it's our Internet

Fire box shouldn't really be slow at all. Unless you mean when it says 'working'

for a tv box yea that's a decent deal

it costs $95 for the box

shipping is around $6.50

101.50 for shipping and product

38.50 for jailbreak.
Thanks, I'm willing to pay a little extra to make sure it has all of the important software, auto updates enabled, and a simple interface. I want the v17 released last month - basically I'm willing to pay more for simplicity.

How much extra to also have all the video games loaded too? You know anything about that?
you can probably find another seller on there that has all of those pre loaded

if you're going to do that id recommend the tv box with the amazon gaming remote

something like this. but the remote he has might be a pos so don't buy from him. also his build hes selling is NO LIMITS which is kinda meh

Yea, he also has over 2k feedback at 100% so I'd assume everyone is happy. Worth an extra $10-$20 for piece of mind and someone that will provide phone support.

@fantasycurse42 I think most here would agree that buying a blank Fire TV box and loading Kodi + Titanium is a better choice than buying a preloaded box.  It's honestly 30 minutes following 2 Youtube videos to get it installed the first time.  Many people in this thread have waded in with no prior experience and gotten up and running very quickly.  Doing it yourself shows you how easy it is and makes you confident in upgrading to 17 when there's a good Titanium-quality build, then 18 when it's out, etc.

If you want it for gaming, I could maybe see buying preloaded, but I wouldn't get a Fire TV and expect it to provide better gaming than an ipad - for gaming, get a gaming system.  You could probably pick up an old xbox 360 with tons of games that is a way better gaming system for fairly cheap (first hit on ebay).

Of course this is the thread where you would find the people who agree with that...

Thanks, the games are more for nostalgic reasons TBH.

I'll play them with my son, he just turned 4 - when the time comes, I'll grab a PS4 or maybe 5, depending when he is ready.

I like no limits, going to stick with it for a while.

FC, installing these are as simple as installing any other program/piece of software. No reason to pay someone else to do it for you.

Totally

we can walk you through it

use the money you save to be our guinea pig and try out an iptv pay service

Reasons why I'm liking No Limits Kodi build better than Titanium:

1- Movie and TV Show Synopsis.  This is the one thing I always thought was missing with Titanium.  When clicking through the movie or show panes in No Limits the synopsis of the show pops up to the side so you can read what the show is about.  This is a huge deal for when when just surfing around looking for something new to watch.  In Titanium you had to start the link, then hit pause, before you would get show information.

2- Similar to #1 there is just a ton more information up front:  A) In addition to synopsis the movie year, catagory, rating and total run time is brought up with each pane making No Limits feel a lot more integrated Titanium.  B) When looking at Tv Shows it lists out all the current seasons episodes with name and date whether it's aired or not.  This makes it a lot easier remember and find where you left off when binge watching.  C) There is a weather, date and time widget on the main screen.

3- It has movie database integration, so you can search through movies and actors just like if you were on IMDB.

4- More.  It has a More selection the main tab that separates thing into categories like documentaries, comedy, horror, bizarre, holiday, fitness, soaps and all kinds of obscure stuff. **

I've only been using it a few days, but, I haven't noticed that it's missing anything that Titanium has and it comes with a lot more features that I find useful.

** One note on obscure stuff; I've run into some really questionable content in the XXX and Bizarre sections (same with xxx in titanium) and I'm probably just going to be really careful what I choose to click on.

would be cool if it had rottentomatoes integration.    the rating to me is just as important as the synopsis so i usually wind up hitting up that site to find out something to watch.  or is that where they get the rating from?

I think they are getting it from themoviedb.org

Want to set Kodi to automatically find a working stream so you aren't always searching for one?

Go to Video Addons; Exodus (or whatever you like to use); Settings; Playback and set the default to Auto-play.

Curious, when you click on a stream and its not found does it automatically try the next one?  I've heard people imply that its the former and I'm not sure if mine just did the latter b/c I use realdebrid.

Pretty sure 100% of what you typed there is in Exodus ... plus, for your number two, it also puts a check mark next to episodes you've watched so you always know exactly where you are in a season.  Maybe not the weather, but date and time are in default Kodi and every build I've seen.

I've read that in 17 it tires to find the best stream.  Not sure if that's true or not.

Not on the home screen thumb nails it's not.

Show me one better than this.

Exodus isn't a build, it's an addon.

For the bold; that doesn't do you any good when moving between devices.  I'd rather have aired date and Exodus doesn't list aired date by default.  Plus I'd rather a build do it for me across all addons.

I don't use multiple devices, but doesn't trakt give you that.

Then I must have something ticked that makes it.   You're right though, for movies it doesn't show any synopsis or anything... only for TV shows.

I'm not sure if you're picking up on one key point:  Exodus is an addon, and sure right now most people use it for 95% of the stuff they watch, but this build has imported that movie information right to the movie thumb nails regardless of what addon you are using.

Yes I'm sure it does, I tried trakt it and couldn't get used to it.  I just know what shows I'm watching and when the last episode I watched was.  And if I forget I have it jotted down in my notes on my phone.

Who here uses a VPN? Which one? I have a Macbook Pro computer and want to set it up for my incoming Fire TV - is this going to be easy or a PITA?
