I dont get the "Do you smell carrots" answer. I understand the purpose, but why would one silhouette say that to another?But probably meaningless--it's just the password for Desmond's replacement.

Another thing I noticed while re-watching some of this ( 
) is that Desmond didn't notice Jack when he saw him through the telescope thingy ("who's that").Some had speculated they came across each other again, and Jack noticed him right away. Why wouldn't Desmond have recognized him?

Dude has been cooped up for nearly 20 years or so. Desmond said some inspirational things to Jack that probably stuck with Jack moreso then Jack's face stuck with Desmond. Plus, after being cooped up for so long why is Kate still clothed? Seriously, tie the dude up and get to work. Start with a good candy bar dinner and get to the rough stuff.
The riddle is awesome. Do you smell carrots? LOL... All snowmen have carrots for noses... that is pretty good.

...or one polar bear was shot and killed in the same episode that Walt was reading a comic book with a polar bear in it. Not necessarily linked, but there is a polar bear theme happening here.
Seriously, rent the DVDs or something. The writers are going to be dropping stuff like this throughout the series I think.

I'm living in the '90s and still use a VCR. In the rush to set the timer and play with the kids, I taped CBS for the first 20 minutes.What did I miss? I gather there was a shark incident early in the episode because Sawyer refered to "teeth."Picked up where Desmond said "I can't believe it, you are here" to Locke.Love this show, but am disappointed that this week's episode ends in the same spot as last week's regarding the hatch. We have more info now, but there was no progression...Jack just said "You..." to end the show for the second week in a row.

Don't think this has already been posted, but the symbol is a stylized swan with the word "DHARMA" across the middle.Also, the symbol on the shark is basically the same, but has a white line across the middle instead of "DHARMA" and doesn't have the swan insignia.
