Not too late to get on the bandwagon boys. Check out the sig.
I think that Turner and White would split time actually, with Turner filling the KR need.
You're STILL doing this???Colin, you shouldn't post after Friday night happy hour.I think that Turner and White would split time actually, with Turner filling the KR need.![]()

If the Titans are burning a first round pick (no pun intended), then they would definately give Turner the majority of the touches and they wouldn't have him in a kick return role.
If it is a 2008 pick, then they can draft a WR/Kick returner in the first couple of rounds this year to replace Pacman for the upcoming season. Ginn would fill that role nicely if he is still there with their pick in Round 1.Mop up?Turner has looked o.k. in mop up duty, but how this guy is worth a 1st rounder in 08 when teams couldn't give away RBs 2 months ago is beyond me.
Kick returns?
Thanks for the laugh guys! I bet you guys continued to pass on Priest Holmes year after year thinking his talent wasn't real.As a diehard Raider fan and Non-LT owner.. week 1 or sooner would be great. So the eternal pessimist in me has to ask.....what's the over/under on which week LaDainian goes down for the year?![]()

I'm thinking the better question is who will the Chargers draft to back him up?So the eternal pessimist in me has to ask.....what's the over/under on which week LaDainian goes down for the year?![]()

Could Pinnock or Sproles not fill that role?Andrew Pinnock Scouting Report from Scout.comI'm thinking the better question is who will the Chargers draft to back him up?So the eternal pessimist in me has to ask.....what's the over/under on which week LaDainian goes down for the year?![]()
Year after year? Holmes had 2 years on top of the world. Actually I did pass on Holmes in 05 and took LJ in the 5th.So Turner is going to get 20+ next year? Who are the Roaf and Shields in Buff, Tenn or GB?Mop up?Turner has looked o.k. in mop up duty, but how this guy is worth a 1st rounder in 08 when teams couldn't give away RBs 2 months ago is beyond me.![]()

I'd be shocked they were able to get a first rounder for him and a mid first at that. Bow down to AJ if true.1090 reports Turner to Titans for 1st rd pick. More to come.
If true I hope the Titans trade down first - or get SD's 1st pick back while giving them a 3rd rounder - or something.1090 reports Turner to Titans for 1st rd pick. More to come.
Yes, I would hold off on believing anything until we get more details. The guys at 1090 are not always reliable.I can't find any conformation, it sounds like the local radio hacks may be just talking about something they don't have all the facts on.
The 19th pick for a guy who hasn't played a full season. This when Edgerrin James and Alexander couln't fetch a 2nd round pick two years ago. What am I missing?I've seen it posted on three different Charger message boards that 1090 is reporting that Turner was traded to the Titans for the 19th pick. But none of them gave any more details than that.

My point, which I admittedly did not make very well, is that I expect Turner (if he is a Titan) to have a more diverse role then simply "starting RB" and I expect White to have a more significant role then "backup RB".Colin, you shouldn't post after Friday night happy hour.I think that Turner and White would split time actually, with Turner filling the KR need.![]()

I think he's better than Edge, in addition to being cheaper. And he's way cheaper than Alexander.Ability over Edge and Alexander of two years ago - tall order.Contract status, age (in terms of not having wear and tear), ability.Could be contract status (Turner is not going to have a huge base salary with him...)The 19th pick for a guy who hasn't played a full season. Think you're wrong if they give up a mid first for him and more than likely pay him 4-5 million a year. That's starting runningback value. White might get a few series but I'd be shocked if they didn't have 300 carry plans for Turner. They don't have a lot invested in Lendale.

Not to mention, Marshall Faulk who was traded for a second and a fifth round pick. Hats off to AJ Smith, if he gets the 19th pick.Ability over Edge and Alexander of two years ago - tall order.Contract status, age (in terms of not having wear and tear), ability.Could be contract status (Turner is not going to have a huge base salary with him...)The 19th pick for a guy who hasn't played a full season. I'd rather sign Chris Brown, draft a CB and trade up in the 2nd than either of those optionsWhile I'd prefer they not give up 19, I try to think of it liek this: if Marshaun Lynch were on the board at 19, and the Titans were set on taking a RB, I'd rather it be Turner then Lynch.
That is a bit of an oversimplification though. Antonio Cromartie, signed at 19, got a 5 year 12.5 million dollar contract with Maroney, drafted at 21 , signed an 5 year, 8.75 million dollar contract. Turner will cost far more. While I'd prefer they not give up 19, I try to think of it liek this: if Marshaun Lynch were on the board at 19, and the Titans were set on taking a RB, I'd rather it be Turner then Lynch.
But we padded the thread's posts by a bunch. That's worth sumthin.5. Meanwhile, nothing actually happened.
I vote we change the thread title to the above.Meanwhile, nothing actually happened.

If you think that Turner is worth as much as RWillI don't remember saying that. But it's worth pointing out that age and contract issues make a huge difference to a running back's trade value. Ricky Williams commanded a lot in part because he was young and fresh, and would play under a rookie contract. Edge, Alexander, and Faulk all had much more mileage and were much more expensive.Saying that Turner isn't worth a first because Edge, Alexander, and Faulk weren't is not a meaningful comparison. He doesn't have the huge negatives against him that those guys did.On the other hand, how much did the Saints give up to get Ricky Williams? Not to mention, Marshall Faulk who was traded for a second and a fifth round pick.Ability over Edge and Alexander of two years ago - tall order.Contract status, age (in terms of not having wear and tear), ability.Could be contract status (Turner is not going to have a huge base salary with him...)The 19th pick for a guy who hasn't played a full season. Turner's been traded to the Padres? They have a terrible O-line.Apparently the 1090 report came from the Padres game announcer.
