Going to Twins/Mets tonight. Biked from work. There is 4 inches of snow on the ground, it is 30 degrees out, and it is currently snowing. Great night for baseball!!This is dumb. But at least I am getting hammered at Fulton Brewery while I wait for friends.
Live me some Fulton. Stop by whenever im in town. Hope to be threre in a couple weeks.

Hopefully you see a better game and it isn't ####### snowing.

Quite a stroke by Gattis. Dude took a 96 MPH Strasburg heater up around his nipples and crushed it to left center. Short, quick, and powerful swing on that one.

Ryan Howard is the slowest runner I've ever seen in any professional sport. He makes Rusty Staub look like Vince Coleman.

Doc scoreless through 6. 63 pitches so far in a AAA start.
It was the Marlins but he threw strikes (just one walk) and he threw to ground balls. I won't trust him against anyone good until he proves he can do it against a good team, but today was encouraging.

Yeah, he looked pretty good. Now blowing them away but threw strikes and pitched to contact. Had some late movement. Next up are the Cards who I'd probably stay away from then the Buccos who should have a similar result.

And probably can't underestimate the confidence he'll get from this start.

I hope RN's preparing a quick recap of the NFC Championship Game.
My bad. I was off the clock today.

7-0 ... NYG TD - Phil Simms to Mark Bavaro, 8 yards

7-7 ... CHI TD- Jim McMahon to Willie Gault, 55 yards

10-7 . NYG FG - Raul Allegre, 32 yards
Funny, I was talking about a different game, but that one ended up working out much better.

Cubs really came through on that one.

MLB already taking some heat for having just nine games on Jackie Robinson day. That's like having Black History month in February, we're always getting screwed over by the man. :hot:

Packed, raucus crowd at Yankee Stadium for some Sunday Night Baseball, huh?

Indians announced attendance for an entire 3-game weekend series with White Sox: 34,968.
Marlinsesque
Weather has been predictably terrible, but that's just atrocious. Too bad they aren't playing today, great day, rest of the week? Not so much. If they don't top 50K with the Red Sox in town though...

Jose Reyes was smiling again Monday.

Reyes found out that his left ankle injury was a little less serious than first feared, and that he may be able to return in about eight weeks. The Blue Jays had originally estimated that their shortstop was expected to miss three months.

Their name escapes me, partly because it's a painful memory, but who were the two big FAs Colorado signed about a decade ago that were epic flops???

Brandon McCarthy is looking to add his name to the list. I can't believe he hasn't given up any runs. 2 walks and 4 hits in 2 innings and zero runs scored...lol

Mike Hampton

Oliver Perezish is what's going on here.
Denny Neagle was the other. Hampton had an 8 year 121 million dollar contract while Neagle had just the 5 year 51 million contract. Hampton's contract would still be big in today's standard while Neagle's was a bit more manageable.
