I'm saying owners being disappointed with his production so far and considering benching him in all but the worst matchups had unreasonable expectations from day one. He was drafted hoping for continued improvement, but it's not like the guy has regressed. At worst he's the same guy he was last year.
Matt Moore has never in his career had a month like the June he just had. He walked 6 batters twice (6 walks three times now this season; he did that 0 times last season). He walked 6 batters in 2.1 innings! That's a stunning lack of control for any pitcher on a bad day. If you can't look at these recent numbers and understand why owners are concerned, you're being willfully difficult. His overall numbers have evened out ... Well, sort of. He now enjoys a career worst ERA, WHIP and walk rate, which after his nice start is pretty remarkable. At worst, he's a worse pitcher than he was last year. At best, he settles down and claws his way back and makes a modest improvement on his sophomore season numbers.

As for why I drafted him? He was the guy in his tier who fell to me. Of course I hoped for continued improvement, but I guess that hope was unreasonable.
He walked 4 or more in 8 of his 31 starts last year and had a BB rate north of 4/9 IP, how are the walks a surprise? As eephus pointed out, his numbers are inflated because of two horrendous outings. Maybe I'm too patient when it comes to my guys, but this just looks like panic to me.

That "panic" kept me from starting him his last four times out, so I'm not complaining. Keep patiently banging your head against a wall, fantasy pro.

The problem with Wang, Dickey and Johnson is they all face stiff competition in that tough division. You stick Dickey in there vs the Yanks and he explodes, put your Johnson in against the O's and he's gonna get burned. Wang seems to be rising though, he's getting a lot of downward action on his balls and he's also penetrating with a ton of consistency. I think Dickey is best coming from behind because he can go deep into games, always pounding the zone with the "Knuckler." Now if Johnson can get over the hump and squeeze every inch of talent out of his potential, I think he'd finish first in a Wang/Dickey/Johnson poll. :2cents:

we can only hope

The Indians need to stop sending dudes with 2 or less syllable last names to the mound, and the White Sox really need to stop sending pitchers with 3+ syllable last names ending in 'o' to the mound.

Pulled his lat again.

If you had to pick between Erasmo and Cingrani on who to own...which would you pick? Seattle GM said Erasmo would be up very soon.

Career minor leaguer Stephen Vogt got his first career hit tonight after an 0-32 start to his MLB career. A home run. Seriously cool.

Eric Davis Jr. is fast! His run from first to home on Marlon Byrd's hit on Friday looked like the video was sped up.
