Supposedly multiple people fell out of the balcony last night in SF during the show.  Including one guy that supposedly jumped and died.  But I can't find anything in the news about it.

JTC just told me that.  That's crazy.  He said it was one guy who purposely jumped.  Didn't land on anybody, thankfully.  Jesus.....

According to twitter and reddit....one was indeed a jumper that did die, he broke the leg of a guy he fell on.  Sounds like the way the levels are tiered there the jumper had to (and did) get a running start and leaped.   From what I've read is that the levels are pretty tight, so this guy jumped from level 3 and landed on level 1.  Hence the running start.

The other guy just fell...from one level to the next is apparently not as bad a fall.    Supposedly he fell on the steps and tumbled over.

I couldn't imagine being there, or seeing it.  And the band didn't stop.  I'm not sure what they should have done, but I couldn't imagine rocking out to Destiny Unbound, guy falling to his death, pool of blood and everything, and the band just continuing.

I've been in a few upper decks that made me feel uneasy.  My wife and I had tickets to a Panic Show at the Arena in ATL  20 years ago.  Been there many times, but our tickets were in the upper deck.  After about 10 minutes we left and just opted to walk around and stay on the ground.

Currently holding a 4 day pass for Vegas and a room at the MGM.  Still haven't booked flight yet.  Really on the fence if its going to be worth it.  I went to Chase Center Saturday Night and Phish was on point so I don't doubt the music will be worth it but outside of that, not sure how much fun its going to be masked up in a casino.

Crazy talk.  Go.

I'm not sure I'm equipped to give a full review of the performance - I'm a casual Phish fan at best.  I probably couldn't name one song they played.  It seemed like their second song went on for 2 hours.

But I loved every single second of it.  They were just incredible.  Just amazing musicians in peak form.  I don't know how they don't get tired.  I saw them one other time in 1997 and I swear they sounded better.  How is that possible?

This was the first overnight my wife and I had without kids since before our twins were born....so 7 years?  This could have been Lawrence Welk and I would have been elated.  But it was Phish and they were spectacular.  Can't wait to listen to the CDs of the show my buddy JTC is mailing me.

Oh, and I got to take my son out to dinner and breakfast - hadn't seen him in a month so that was just awesome.  Great food, great times.  Go see Phish.  They are legends.

Anyone listen last night? How's the new album sound live?
I was at the show, granted it was my 3rd night of Phish in a row but that set didn't do much for me.  Maybe something good will come out of it going forward but it didn't register with me on Sunday night at all.

Of the 3 shows I saw, Halloween was my least favorite.  Think Saturday was the best of the weekend but Friday was really good too.  Thursday I listened to the second set on Sirius and that sounded good, missed set one though

Because I didn't like the Halloween set?  Just being honest, I liked night 2 and night 3 much better than night 4
Don't worry about @shuke.  He does handstands in grand fashion, but he's a genuine #######.

Vegas looked awesome.  Sci Fi Soldier is finally growing on me.  My first listen I was kind of blah about it.

Pretty cool how we were getting previews of the new album all summer/fall and didn't even know it.

Chula Vista was a great show; Piper was the standout if you want to check out one song from the show.

I streamed the Vegas run and the Halloween costume set was suspect at best.

Ended up in Vegas end of the month and went to the 10/28 Numbers show.  Amazing to say the least.  I went to the show alone, picked up a ticket the day prior on the main level on the side in a 4 seat row for $59 after fees/shipping.  A couple dudes picked up on my row being empty and these two guys had probably 300 shows between them.  It was alot fun hanging with them during this show.

Chula Vista possibly the best show from the tour and there were a lot of good ones.

I liked Vegas night 2 a lot as well.

Sci Fi Soldier hasnt grown on me like I had hoped.  Not bad, and I'm sure it will get better, but 10/31 was not the best night in Vegas.

I opted out of Chula Vista...thats why it was the best show.

Anyone else getting 4678 for the total from the 10/28 Vegas show? The band said the sum is 4680. I'll show my work:

First set: 2001+1999+555+46+23+20 = 4644

Second set: 7+(6+9)+5+2+2+1+1+1+0 = 34

4644 + 34 = 4678

Maybe they count a "1' in the NO2 since there would be one Nitrogen atom. Though the one is not shown, it is implied. That gets us to 4679. Blimey.

The encore was Grind 2.0

So is the prevailing wisdom that these upcoming shows at MSG will actually happen? Like, with fans? Sounds like NYC is deep in the Omicron soup. We don't have tickets so it is couch tour or bust for us, but I feel for folks who are planning this run and not knowing what's going to happen.

Seems like it could go either way, but at this point, it doesn't sound like anything local is going to shut it down.  Of course that could change in 7 days if there is a big rise in hospitalizations.

I think Phish would like to avoid cancelling as well for the reasons that you have stated.

Billy Joel is playing MSG tonight so they are already testing the waters.  Really think it depends on how bad it is after Christmas.

Vegas was a super spreader so this has all the makings of the same thing. The people going all 4 nights are definitely taking their chances, then again, if vaccinated, perhaps its not that big a deal even if you get sick.

I think its a full go, with the only exception being if a key member of the team tests positive.  Which, just looking at the state of things, is fairly likely to happen.  I don't see them proactively canceling though.

Its a buyers market on stubhub right now.

dang, just checked stubhub and you are right plenty of good cheap (relatively speaking) tickets for all nights.  Going to check flights now and may try to pop up for a show.  I have a free place to stay, just need to convince the wife she can do NYE by herself at home

Welp, best laid plans of mice and men are often the same

I just changed my NYE plans last night.  Supposed to go to a party now staying in.  Not a big NYE guy anyway
Same.  I always prefer to watch the Phish show over anything going on in the neighborhood.  I got 3 kids under 11 so we're not venturing out anyways.

Now my wife says I cannot back out because I already said I would go and it would be rude to the hosts.  Not sure where women get their life rules from.  So I am going to go to the party early and try to leave around 9.  I wonder if there is a way I can pause the show and watch it from the beginning after it started that way maybe at setbreak I can catch up.

it's on their Youtube channel so pretty sure you can pause and then skip ahead.

Rather large summer tour this year.  I put in requests for Orange Beach and #####.  Never been to a ##### show.

Putting in for the Mann (local to me) and may shoot for Jones Beach just for the heck of it. They are indeed playing a lot of dates. Oh, and I will probably just drive to Atlantic City and sit on a bench on the boardwalk for a few hours. Last summer I noticed how good the sound was even on the Boardwalk. Not only would it be free, if I hold a mug out, might accumulate some spare change while I'm at it.

Ugh.  The Deer Creek dates overlap a trip we're taking.  We get back on Saturday so I'm going to do my best to make the Sunday show.

The Blossom show is on the same date we have Roger Waters tickets.

Someone tell me about Alpine Valley.  Thinking of taking the trek for the three shows there.

RE: Alpine.

Saw Phish play a show there in 2012. It's an outstanding setting, and the acoustics underneath the overhang is incredible. It's huge. Holds 30,000+ and is in the middle of nowhere. Fun pre- and post-show fun, great beer platforms that scale up the left and right sides for quick service and chilling.

I'd rather watch a show there than Shoreline in my backyard.

You're a music dude. Alpine should be on your list of places to see a show.

We did Alpine a couple of years ago and loved it.  There is a heavy police presence, but nothing seemed too over the top.  You'll hear old school stories about all kinds of harassments.  Probably warranted though.

It was an extremely last minute trip for us so we just found a campsite in Geneva Lake.  Had an absolute blast.  Floated in the lake all day, hit up a few nice grub spots in town.  Really cool experience for us Mississippi folk.
