ok thank you.Did the series get cancelled before they could shoot a proper ending? Just trying to figure out why the movie was made.

fair enough. Just need to find the movie. I got all 4 seasons from my library but no one seems to carry the movie. May need to buy it.

Ok I finished all 4 seasons and watched Final Break as well.
I went into this knowing I was not watching Babylon 5, The Wire, The Shield level quality so I kept my expectations in check.
With that in mind the entertainment was decent. Writing obviously got more absurd as it went. The show would have benefitted from shorter seasons I think.
Only character I really liked was through out the series was Mahone. The actor who played T-Bag did a great job with some horrendous writing.

Stop while you are ahead. While it isn't as horrible as it got, season 1 was the pinnacle.

Yes, please listen to the others and stop with Season 1. Seasons 2+ are downright awful.
Instead, give Homeland, The Americans, Game of Thrones, or House of Cards a try (if you haven't already). So many better options than Prison Break S2+.

That article seems to indicate it is not a reboot but simply a continuation of the story with the same actors.

That's what it is. When they say reboot, they don't mean reboot like in movies. They just mean they are firing it back up again.

I have been thinking about what time frame the restarted series would take?
They almost have to ret-con the scene of Micheal's grave in The Final Break since the date on the headstone means the entire 4 seasons of the show took place in around ~8 months of time from when he enters the prison in season 1.
The time between the end of The Final Break and his death must have been only a couple of weeks at best.
