SD has gotten a stale to me.  Just no interest in their storylines anymore.  The whole AJ vs Owens/Sami thing has been done to death. The Bryan vs Shane thing is annoying, and I wouldn't be surprised if it led to a match at WM for control of SD.  What was once the land of opportunity has become a wasteland.
they don't have enough guys and too many guys are lost in the shuffle on raw.  Why exactly did Bray Wyatt go to Raw?  Or Apollo Crews?

They just need a few new bodies to make things interesting

At least we'll have another shake-up in a month after WM.

But then AJ, KO and Naomi will go to Raw with Matt Hardy, Sasha, and Bayley going to SD.  We'll see more of the same old crap, while they try to bring up a few more NXT names to stoke the flames of a smoldering product.

Two reports about the future of the biz have me hopeful.

Vince has fully given the reins of 205 Live to Triple H. I watched the first two episodes that Triple H and crew have produced and they have a much more CWC feel. The wrestling was always good, and now the presentation is getting better. What remains is moving them out of the completely dead post-SD spot.

Secondly, it is rumored that Triple H will be taking more on for Raw and SD as Vince focuses on the XFL. Not full control as he has for NXT or 205, but more.

Triple H seems like a good delegator and not nearly as controlling as Vince - which he'll need to delegate as he becomes more and more responsible for 7 hours of programming. May the XFL prosper for years to come imo.

New Beginning had two fantastic matches for their Jr and Heavyweight titles.

And at the end of the night...

Okada challenges Ospreay at the Anniversary show for a "return to tradition."

That's an awesome match!

Emma signs with Ring of Honor and is entered in the Women of Honor title tournament. She wrestled under her real name of Tenille Dashwood. LINK

I know that it’s not going to happen (John dropped a hint about the Undertaker returning to WM: “when legends can return from the dead”), but I think it could be smart for WWE to have Cena beat Lesnar for the Universal title.

  • Brock’s contract is up after WM
  • John would get his record 17th title
  • John as the part-timer champion would be much friendlier toward the WWE than Lesnar
  • it’d be a way for Cena to draw out his road to retirement

What might’ve been...
Growing up in the 80s in Fort Worth, I have an admitted huge bias for anything WCCW and Von Erich, but I really think the business would have been completely different if David had lived. He and Flair would have traded the title back and forth multiple times in the late 80s, no doubt doing great business in Texas, keeping Kerry there (maybe Kerry doesn't get into drugs if David lives, which creates a whole other "what if"). A strong promotion in Texas that could have worked with Crockett, Watts, etc could have been an interesting challenge to Vince. Not saying they would have won, but it would have been fun to watch.

Man, I'm getting old. I still remember having the Pizza Inn posters of David, Kerry and Kevin in my room as a kid.

David was a huge player one way or the other. I don’t know if we could have had anyone keep the others head on straight. But maybe David goes to New York and headlines wrestlemania 2 or 4.

I’ve also heard pointed out, David was younger than Nash and hall during the Monday night Wars. He is another interesting chess piece there

That would have been interesting. Hogan is 6'7", where David was a legit 6'8". Vince probably saddles him with an evil cowboy gimmick, but again, fun to think what if.

If David lives and if Magnum TA doesn't get hurt: me and my wrestling dork friends would fantasy book forever just around those situations.

:goodposting:
Those Parade Of Champions cards at Texas Stadium were as good as any early WrestleMania.
With David still around as a headliner, maybe Dallas absorbs Mid-South and adds some of the talent Watts assembled with his UWF run, including Jim Ross.

:lmao:  maybe he’d make him Pecos bill the 7 foot cowboy.

Just a head's up: Wrestle Circus has a card running tomorrow night - available for free on Twitch. The main event is Tessa Blanchard v. Brian Cage and it's title for title. Tessa puts up the Sideshow title (but not the women's belt, obviously) while Cage will defend the Ringmaster title. Tessa Blanchard could walk out of the ring tomorrow night holding all three singles titles in WC.

Tessa might be my favorite female performer right now this side of Alexa Bliss. I really want to see how this match goes off. If I didn't have kids, I would be making the drive down to SA.

What’s going on with wrestle circus? Was this a money laundering front?

There was more cryptic stuff than that though right? Didn’t they say they were shutting down at one point. I’ve never seen it but heard raves about it
You mean like one of the founders having to deal with a health issue?

At first the online community was irate that the card had been cancelled at such short notice, but it soon emerged that it had been for very just reasons. Co-owner Al Lenhart had been dealing with serious medical issues and he and his wife, co-owner Lexi Lenhart, needed time to pull back from the business to work on his health.
Al is in better health now than when we started WrestleCircus. During the break we got him on a new treatment plan and new doctors.

It was a very important and needed break to focus on his recovery from a neurotoxin he suffered back in 2015.

Thank you for asking. https://t.co/MfJFZTUMao

Wow!  You guys watching this Satuday Night's Main Event?  Already a classic!  I'm a bit surprised Greg the Hammer Valentine pulled out a win against Brutus the Barber.  Beefcake had the upper hand a vast majority of the match. I guess that's the advantage of having the Mouth of the South in your corner.

Then Hogan had made short work of "King" Harley Race.  I don't know about you guys, but i think Rave is past his prime. The WWF needs a new King. How about King Dino Bravo (bench press world record holder)?  Or, thinking outside the box a little bit, King Haku?  Unexpected,  I know,  but I think The Islanders aren't long for the tag team game. Haku is getting held back by Toma. He should go solo. Maybe get a manager...

Anyhow,  Hogan was impressive tearing through Race even while looking forward to Wrestlemania IV.  Let's just hope np fake Dave Hebners show up.

So far this Macho/Dibiase match has been fun. That Virgil is a scumbag. I'm glad they sent him back to the locker room.   Unfortunately,  Dibiase still has Andre lurking about - Objectively speaking, a wise investment by The Million Dollar Man.  Let's see how this turns out!

What crap!  Dibiase. with a HUGE assist from Andre, absolutely stole a win. Thankfully for the Madness, the lovely Ms. Elizabeth went and got Hogan for the save!  I could see this Mania/Madness team working well for years to come. Nothing could get between them!    I can't wait for Wrestlemania IV!!!

J - E - DOUBLE F J - A - DOUBLE R - E - DOUBLE T
DOUBLE J!!!!

He was so good at making me hate him.  Which I suppose means he was really good.

Saw him wrestle in person once: SummerSlam 1999.  He was the opening match against D'Lo Brown for the European Title.  Jarrett came out to a mix of boos for him and wild cheers for Debra.  Jarrett got the win after Mark Henry turned on D'Lo.

(Other matches from that card included a hardcore match between Al Snow and Big Boss Man that spilled out of the arena and into a bar across the street.  A urinal cake was used as a weapon in the bar bathroom.  Test defeated Shane McMahon, but not before Shane put Test through the Spanish announcers table with a phenomenal flying elbow from the top turnbuckle.  Billy Gunn told my group "MOVE!" while carrying the Rock because we were leaning over a railing he wanted to drop the Rock on.  And the three-way dance main event was Stone Cold, HHH, and Mankind with Jesse Ventura as the ref.

After the show, we happened to walk up the parking ramp with Terry Taylor, whom WWF fans might remember as "The Red Rooster".  He was working for WWF at the time, scouting talent and developing the undercard.  He started a conversation about the "Tag Team Turmoil" match, a gauntlet match that got a lot of undercard talent in the ring.  "I thought the Brood and the Hardys put on a great show.  You're gonna see a lot more of them.")

Surprised there's no chatter about the gauntlet match on RAW.  Technically one match that lasted close to 1:50:00, with Rollins wrestling for over an hour; unreal in this day and age and the best RAW I've seen in many years.  That has to be a star-making performance for Seth Rollins.

Everything I've read about it has been rave for Seth. I'll watch it tonight.

It appears I may need to start tuning in for all the weeklies and not just catch spoilers and highlights. I wonder if this has any of HHH's influence behind it; I've caught up on his post-Enzo 205 Live shows and they are getting really good. I think the crowd will get livelier if 205 Live continues at current pace.

And speaking of this, I can't believe I wasn't watching the year prior for Seth's "greatest heist in history." That's one of my favorite clips ever and during I time I didn't even watch! It had me really pumped to watch Seth live (injured) and I remember feeling a bit letdown with his return.

I hope they let him loose - think he can be a white-hot babyface.

I thought Seth was already a star? One of the better things they have going for them.

So they basically gave away Elimination Chamber a week early?

I really liked throwing backstage to the live interviews after guys were eliminated too. Nice way to get the guys to state their motivations...thought Cena did well in his spot, finally starting to question himself.

It wasn't giving away the chamber because all of the work was 1-on-1 and there wasn't a gimmick...just a two hour stretch where they showcased their upper tier guys. Really important to note that Elias does not look out of place whatsoever.

Its funny that the 25th anniversary on Raw was last month, because Rollins gave a better performance last night than anyone in that 25 years ever did. Over an hour straight, and beating the 2 biggest stars in the company completely clean. This was the Seth Rollins that anyone who watched him pre-WWE saw. The one who should have gotten an actual main event match with Lesnar.

I don't think Seth is as polished with the mic yet as some of the big stars but he has the other skills down.
I've always thought Rollins is one of the better talkers in the company. Just among full time guys, I can't see him not among the top half dozen or so.

Everyone wants to walk with Elias. Most everyone in that company should be taking tips from him on how to cut a promo and control the crowd.

I'm sure they'll do Reigns, but I'd go with Braun/Lesnar at Mania. Time to pull the trigger on him and move on from Lesnar as title holder. Braun will get more out of beating Lesnar than Reigns. Let Reigns chase and turn him heel to win from Braun down the line.

I'm stunned they haven't ####ed up Braun or Elias. Glad they're finally pushing guys that look like stars and not the Dean Ambrose's of the world.

Brand split is so stupid. They have such an amazing roster and can be doing so many cool programs and dream matches, yet they handcuff creative with this idiotic make believe brand split.

Rollins-AJ; Roman-Nakamura; Balor-Roode; Wyatt-Owens

So much potential and you’d never run out.

I'm not walking with him, but the gimmick works, so I'll give 'em credit for this.

I'm also convinced Vince still wants Reigns to have his babies, so we'll get - YAWN - Reigns in the main event...AGAIN. Dude's hard-on for big guys never ends.
