Not a surprise to any wrestling podcast listeners, but it's amazing as to how bad Peter Rosenberg is as a wrestling podcast host. He's actually gotten infinitely worse in the last year. Not only does he show up to his own show to get informed by his cohosts as to current wrestling news during the show, but he still genuinely believes he's such an informed insider.

David Shoemaker is great, but it's embarrassing to see him hitch his wagon to Rosenberg every week. Sad.

They do. It has moved off the dead carcass of Grantland and has it's own feed.

I still like the show, and it along with Sam Roberts ( Katie) are the only shows I make sure to listen to every week. I don't hate on Rosenberg as much as others, just because I think he is a necessary sounding board for Shoemaker. As annoying as Rosenberg can be, he is the more polished broadcaster and I think Shoemaker alone would be a tougher listen. The addition of Greg The Virgin makes for a nice three man podcast at this point.

Do you listen to the fight network shows? LAW or review a raw? Highly recommend and you get a nice weekly roundup. On the LAW meltzer does a 20 minute spot that's worth it(those hosts are a bit annoying). On the other shows john pollock and wai ting are awesome

My prediction is that it will come down to Lesnar vs Reigns as the last 2 in the Rumble Match. After a stare down, Lesnar says "I'll see you at WrestleMania" before eliminating himself.

I think this is pretty predictable after Monday. Lesnar is winning the RR, and Roman will fight against odds to earn the title shot at WM.

And I have a feeling he will be going over Brock this time.

I for one think this would be great. We need another 1-2-3 KId beating Razor Ramon moment. And why not? There's simply no one outside of Reigns/HHH/Lesnar that are built up enough to come out with the belt. I simply refuse to believe they'll throw the belt on Owens and try a Lesnar program at Mania. Just not realistic looking having a sub 6 foot fat guy (dont believe the billed height) vs. Lesnar.

I just don't see it with Ambrose. What is his character? A lunatic? He really just overacts terribly. Brian Pillman came across as a lunatic.......Dean Ambrose, not at all. Good hand. I've never seen a main eventer with him personally.

If the right story was there, I could see doing something with Bray. And I don't disagree he'd be the guy most capable of making the leap. There's simply not anything interesting that could be built with him (as a solo) between Rumble and Mania......to keep things continuing to roll. It's just terrible creative that they've not gotten Bray high on the card as a singles guy. They've made him irrelevant for so ####### long, pushing him to the top all of a sudden (ala Sheamus) just doesn't come across as realistic and IMO with the creative future plans will flop.

I agree here, and I'm not a Bray fan (just meh).

Yeah, it's at least an hour too long. 2 weeks in a row New Day had to go 30 minutes (promo + match). I LOVE New Day, but that's too much. You don't want them to get stale too quickly.

Is it too early to be worried about the WrestleMania card? Just feels like with all of the injuries and MIAs, that this is going to end up like WM 27 where somehow The Miz gets the Main Event slot, which just shouldn't have happened.

I'm worried about the rumble. Not enough potential surprises? I'm fearing it's basically Reigns or Brock winning it an outside chance HHH is in it.

With a bunch of fodder like Konnor and Victor.

I do hope Cody Rhodes enters and then StarDust plays dumb the next night.

Was hoping for 40 people so they could have a bunch of surprises. Roster isn't deep enough for that.

That he took on heels and Reigns all the same at the last RAW makes me think he'll get in there early and just dominate.

I have to imagine they're bringing Zayn in....but at this point, isn't he kind of buried? He got minimal exposure on the main roster before he got hurt and is just getting back on his feet in NXT. I could see Samoa Joe getting in as well, but since they've got that 3 Way dance scheduled for NXT on the 27th....any entrance by those two into the RR will be anti-climatic.

Daniel Bryan would get major pop.....but at this point in the game, could you ever watch him again and not think that you're watching his last match? Kind of mutes any comeback if the guy perpetually has the "one injury away" hanging over his head.

Roman will then celebrate in shock and extreme jubilation which is when Lesnar will run into the ring and destroy him setting up a match at Fastlane.

Lesson learned from watching many Rumbles, they change the rules to suit their booking every year. Royal Rumble '92, Macho Man jumps over the top rope himself and is allowed back in because he jumped over by his own power. How many times have we seen that happen and they are eliminated? I know Andre did running from Jake's snake.

Rules indicate that you can be on the floor as long as you don't go over the top rope (which is always applied). Early Rumbles stated that you cannot be out of the ring longer than 2 new entrants, though, or face automatic elimination. However, in 1999 (in the worst Rumble), both Austin and McMahon enter the Rumble at #1 and #2, are hardly ever in the ring, and re-enter toward the end of the match for McMahon to win the Rumble in the dumbest finish ever. Even worse since they had Austin win back his title shot at the next PPV, making the Rumble win for McMahon meaningless and did nothing to promote anyone.

I'm sure there are more that I cannot think of right now.

Yeah I agree he can't physically pull off a match but you have to have him involved somehow in WM---even if he is In the corner of a Diva or young NXT guy. There is no way they can just have him come out at the start of the show like they did before with Hogan and Rock and drink a beer.

I think this would be great, but I don't see WWE having the balls to do it. They simply aren't that creative anymore. I just don't see Lesnar/Reigns at Mania again (this soon anyway) with them hell bent on super babyface Reigns. I think there's like a 1% chance we don't have Reigns/HHH at Mania at this point. I'd think differently perhaps if they were fighting at the Rumble. And I simply don't think they have the talent pool on the roster to do a HHH/Reigns/Lesnar 3 way.

Hindsight being what it instead of fellating triple h's ego and beating sting in the "final battle of wcw", they should have booked the match everyone wanted in taker-sting Then you would have taker-Wyatt now which makes for sense from a character perspective.

Wyatt is the most fantastical character on the roster and lesnar is the most reality based so I don't know how they'll mesh them.

Personally I'd rather

Samoa joe vs lesnar

Balour (as the demon) vs wyatt

But that would require getting joe and Balour and joe heated up quick.

I would have joe debut at 1 in the rumble and book it so that he eliminates the first ten guys before a third man gets in the ring. They've never done that before. Let him be a snarling monster while he throws the social outcasts of the world out. Then at 11, maybe new day comes out as one group and that finally evens the odds, you get a nice rub and pop for both.

Yeah Beer Money (Bobby Roode and James Storm) just reunited. Back when they were together at their peak, there's little doubt IMO they would have been the top tag team in WWE. Great characters and great workers as well. Their matches with Motor City Machine Guns (MCMG) Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley were among the best series of tag matches I've ever seen. While TNA finally got the clue to let them headline shows they missed the boat big time with capitalizing on their tag division overall. Fairly certain at one time they had the following teams under their roof at the same time: Beer Money, MCMG, Young Bucks, Hardys, Dudleys, Christopher Daniels & Kazarian.

And last night just looked...forced.

As to who TNA had in the tag division, I believe you're right. If not all, then the vast majority of them. It was stacked.

Just watched this week's show (well FF thru it in about 15 min). That Beer Money segment was brutal. I couldn't watch it w/o skipping after about a minute of back and forth.

And even worse was Mr. Anderson's segment with Matt Hardy. I can't stand the guy's character (Anderson) whatsoever. He is a lot more tolerable out of character.

Then....the we get the "IIIIFFFF YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING"....... Rock comes down...helps his cousin. A few guys later..... Lesnars music pops, he comes down and The Rock gets tossed. After that...place is a madhouse; guys getting in between Lesnar and Reigns are getting tossed into the third row...it's like Ground Zero, hard fought match....we're at 30......and the lights go down and we get the ringing of the bell. Undertaker comes down, gets in and ends up winning.

That sets two stages for WM on the following RAW.

1) McMahon can call The Rock out as interfering/part-timer/retired whatever and that he stuck his nose where is shouldn't belong. HHH takes up the flag for the McMahon family and we get Rock v. HHH.

2) Heyman comes down and reiterates that his client hasn't been pinned/never lost the belt at WM 29 and the he should be in the Main Event. Reigns comes down and invokes his rematch for WM. 3 Way Dance between Taker, Lesnar and Reigns for the belt at 30.

And in WM...you can either have Reigns win a stiff, STIFF match for the belt....or have the Taker retain it....and then retire on the RAW the next night....setting up a tournament.

Well, if we are going to the 2 wrestlemanias ago rabbit hole, I would have had the Shield/Evolution match happen at Mania, and have had Bryan win the Rumble and beat Cena for the title at Mania. Plus that saves us from that Wyatt/Cena feud, that Wyatt still hasn't recovered from, as well as giving the Shield something to do that year, besides squash the Kane/Outlaws team. Then you have Wyatt beat Taker for The Streak, and he's over forever. I don't know where that leaves Lesnar. Maybe Punk stays if its him and Lesnar at Mania? Otherwise maybe Lesnar/Jericho? Lesnar/Cesaro? Lesnar winning the first Andre battle royal?

Not a surprise to any wrestling podcast listeners, but it's amazing as to how bad Peter Rosenberg is as a wrestling podcast host. He's actually gotten infinitely worse in the last year. Not only does he show up to his own show to get informed by his cohosts as to current wrestling news during the show, but he still genuinely believes he's such an informed insider.

David Shoemaker is great, but it's embarrassing to see him hitch his wagon to Rosenberg every week. Sad.

They still do that show?

They do. It has moved off the dead carcass of Grantland and has it's own feed.

I still like the show, and it along with Sam Roberts ( Katie) are the only shows I make sure to listen to every week. I don't hate on Rosenberg as much as others, just because I think he is a necessary sounding board for Shoemaker. As annoying as Rosenberg can be, he is the more polished broadcaster and I think Shoemaker alone would be a tougher listen. The addition of Greg The Virgin makes for a nice three man podcast at this point.

For a guy that constantly brags about what a professional he is, he's so incredibly unprofessional and unpolished. Showing up late to a show he hosts? Check. Showing up unprepared and uninformed to a show he hosts? Check. Constantly being rude to his own cohosts (and not just shtick)? Check. Constantly being dismissive of large swaths of his audience? Check.

ETA: Greg and Shoemaker alone would be more than sufficient at this point. Hell, Sam Roberts, Shoemaker and Greg would be the perfect trio.

NXT in Green Bay was an excellent show.

Enzo and Cass opened the show and did a great job warming up the crowd.

Balor went over on Sami Zayn in a great match in the main event. Zayn raised his hand in the end. The crowd loved them both. Balor teased the Bullet Club again, making guns with his fingers.

Was a blast to see Bayley. My favorite wrestler on the planet right now.

Crews vs Corbin was a great match. Probably my favorite. Their power moves are so much fun watching live. Unlike Takeover, Crews got the win. The crowd didn't really react to him, but he's a beast in the ring. Would have been fun to see End of Days, but I was pulling for Cruz. Crowd was split 50/50.

By far the most heat of anyone was Eva Marie. The crowd HATED her. I really don't know why, but she's doing something right.

Asuka and Samoa Joe weren't there, which was a little disappointing.

Fun night.

The Kingdom had their last match on RoH TV this weekend in a Philly Street Fight against ReDRagon and The Young Bucks. This match was insane from the jump. Even Maria took a couple of bumps in this one.

Taven didn't wrestle as he was legit injured and will be out up to a year, leaving Adam Cole all by his lonesome. It'll be interesting to see if Taven is able or will move to TNA after his contract is up. Of course, Dixie is dumb enough to throw money at a lame horse...

The Young Bucks are very over - at least in Philly.

It's tremendous. I watched it a second time to make sure I wasn't blinded by the DDP/Jake/Steve Yu Q&A/Meet and Greet after the first time I watched it, but it is simply a great story told in a very watchable way. Everything Beyond The Mat wanted to be, but wasn't.
