Personally hope AJ doesn't debut at Royal Rumble match. Unless they have him win  I've never felt that match is a great way to debut a non-physically imposing talent (that you plan on getting over in the future) only to have him not win it. Frankly it'd only show off AJ's lack of size. And won't showcase what AJ does best -- wrestle :2cents:

Current rumor is they'll be debuting him the night after Rumble. I would defiitely have at least a few weeks of vignettes of his work, etc... so he quickly doesn't become Neville. Most people in the crowd won't have the first clue who he is.

Just sat down, for some reason I'm excited to put on Raw, turn it on and within 2 minutes I've got Wyatts vs Dudleys for the 500th time and all the life has been sucked out of me. What a slap in the face to still book this match. What a complete waste of the most interesting and one of the most talented performers I've seen in a long time in Bray.

Well I watched the first 1/2 hour and then had to take my daughter to dance and planned to watch the recording when I get home. It sounds like I am not missing anything.....

Blah blah blah. The Rumble sure looks like a good card to me.

New Day vs Usos

ADR vs Kalisto

Charlotte vs Lynch

Owens vs Ambrose (last man standing)

Royal Rumble

That was a strangely booked Raw. A lot of stuff felt thrown together last minute. It felt like they were phoning it in. 'Who can we throw together in a tag team so we can kill 2 1/2 hours before our big final segment'? Maybe they're looking at Smackdown as the "go home" show now because that didn't really seem to qualify.

There were a couple things that worked. Thought the funeral for "Francesca" was funny. The Becky/Charlotte feud is good. The final segment was ok. At least it elevated the Wyatts a little.

The rest was garbage. I was especially annoyed that they apparently turned Paige babyface again, and for no better reason than to promote Total ####### Divas. Is that what the women's division is going to be about again? Short matches and commercials for their Pseudo reality show? As NXT has shown us, it can be so much more. And why is Tamina still employed there? She offers nothing. No mic skills, rings skills, or charisma.

Jericho was my favorite of all time, but oof on these past 2 weeks.
Yeah, he's lost a lot off his fastball. He now reminds me of the celebrity comedians they bring in from time to time who think wrestling is corny and behave accordingly. He was a little better in the last segment when he was trading barbs with Heyman. But the comedy act is not good.

As for the Rumble, yes, RAW pretty much sucked, but hasn't the IWC been pushing for a Wyatt push for as long as they were pushing for a Daniel Bryan push? It seems like, due mainly to injuries, that Vince, HHH and creative are giving them just that.

Having Bray come out of the PPV on Sunday as champion makes a lot of sense.

I really hope so. My short time being back I've really been drawn to Bray and already expressed my love for New Day.

A "Reign of Terror" type champion would be cool I think.

I don't see how Roman can come out of the Rumble as champion. With Lesnar in the match and starting at #1, there wouldn't be any more mountains to climb. This is a chance to move the title to someone new without having Roman eat a loss via pinfall. I think there's a very real chance Bray wins the title. I also think Owens has a chance, but I'm starting to think Owens and Ambrose won't even be in the Rumble since they'll be selling injuries from the last man standing match.

With Cena out for Mania, Brock is probably going to work face. I think we're headed for this top of the card:

Wyatt vs Lesnar

Reigns vs HHH

Owens vs Taker

Ambrose vs ??? (probably someone from League of Nations, depending on US title situation)

I'm actually scared for the opposite. I hope I'm wrong but I have a sneaking suspicion that Roman not only wins the Rumble but breaks Rey's distance record. It has to irk them showing Rey as the record holder now that he wrestles elsewhere.

??? would be Jericho for Ambrose's opponent if they had any idea how to continue past storylines. They swung and missed terribly not turning Jericho last night.

He fits the group. And gives them the desperately needed mouthpiece they need.. Christ that promo was horrific last night. ADR was awful. Russev was a joke. Sheamus his normal terrible self. Not even sure the best talker of the group Barrett even talked. At least he showed up this week. At some point they've got to cut the cord with Barrett as an active performer if he can't stay healthy.Jericho is trying to cut Attitude Era promos on non-Attitude Era performers/era who arent given the same leeway. Comes off as complete ####.

That promo and the Vince/Steph Rumble draw segment make me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. Someone please answer this for me, why does Stephanie ALWAYS beat into the ground EVERY SINGLE POINT that HHH/Vince make? It's too bad she's the remaining McMahon in the company and not Shane.

The only good thing I saw from last night is the Wyatts standing tall at the end. Should have happen many months ago. Now let's hope they're not jobbing to Dudleys again this week on Smackdown.....

They have been known to be petty like that (AJ Lee). And the more they say he has no chance, the more I think it's going to happen. Stone Cold said on Jim Ross's podcast that he thinks they should keep the belt title on Reigns until WrestleMania (at least).

If they don't turn Jericho to join League of Nations here, they squandered another big opportunity
Aaaaand oppurtunity squandered. Can't believe I lasted 30 minutes into Raw. Time to shut off.

It's not like he's Canadian or anything. Oh, wait...

Well, they've got Barrett. He's been in the WWE for years and has been hurt for 70% of it. If that's not part-time...

And it's already been rumored Jericho current run is full time. Write him off when he goes on tour. Pretty simple.

My favourite part of Raw was the clips/stills of the tour of India featuring New Day w/trombone immediately followed by the Death of Trombone segment. WWE can't even get the little things correct.

There are no tour dates on Fozzy's website. Guess he could hang around for a while.

LON probably won't even last much longer. Very ill conceived.

WCW used to do stuff like that. It worked out fine for them!

I don't think the Wyatts end up with the belt and headline WM. You might see them show up at the end of the WM Main Event, bushwhack the champion and start a feud for the new year.......but I don't think Brey main events it.

If I'm Vince, I'm setting up a Shield reunion v. Wyatt Family feud for 2016.

doing a quick headcount of the roster, it just seems like they're going to be very few surprise entries in this. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the best part of the whole night

Let's expand on this:

Reigns, Brock, Y2J

Assuming they count New Day and Wyatts and Outsiders and Leag e of Nations all separate, we are at 18.

Let's throw in Mark Henry and his group from last night which included Neville we are at 22. We have the Luchas and Cody to make it 24. Owens, Ambrose and the Usos make it 28---who am I missing or mistakenly adding?

I really like the idea of it. Execution -- like most of what they write --has been terrible. No excuse for not having a mouthpiece. And there's been no consistency with them at all. Some weeks they're all together......some not at all. Wade Barrett shows up once a month on TV.....And then you get the drizzling #### promos between Russev/ADR like we got last night.

ADR's return has been an abomination since beating Cena. Whoever thought to put him with Zeb Coulter in that program should never have a job in the wrestling industry again.

I just realized they are going up against the NFC title game with the rumble. Are these dolts brain dead? It used to be a nice little event in the Super Bowl bye week

I think Barrett is on the IR

Hhh?

Taker?

I will predict IRS as a special guest, we get a moment with bo, bray and him

Wow it shows how forgettable Big Show is in I completely excluded him. So let's put Show in Barrett's spot.

Add in Ryback and Ziggler that's 30.

Now UT is interesting. He shows up, gets the belt and does a swan song 3 month run with it culminating in a 3 man battle with him, Brock and Reigns at WM. Where he drops the belt to Reigns

Rvd is always a candidate.

I disagree 100% with you on Rusev's promo. He was excellent as usual. I don't know how anyone could watch that opening, and think he came off badly. Del Rio I'd agree with, he went down the "perro" hole really quick, but Rusev was the only one(including Reigns and Jericho) who had anything even remotely interesting or useful to say. He pretty easily won that segment.

Jericho is an alignment issue, not a "he doesn't have it anymore" issue. Jericho has always been kinda lame when he is a face, and the best in the world as a heel. Think about the Jericho you(and we all) liked. Was it WCW conspiracy victim, collecting trophies from cruiserweights Jericho? Was it suit wearing, slow talking, $5 word Jericho in his heel run from 08-10? Or was it catchphrase champion Jericho of the last couple years, and most of his post undisputed champion run.

I bet it was one(or both) of the first two. There isn't a guy I can think of, who has ever a bigger difference in quality of work when a heel vs. when a face.

Still under contract to TNA. He's doing a farewell tour.

Just got done watching a pretty wild Philly street fight on ROH between Red Dragon, Young Bucks and The Kingdom.

The highlight was Maria Kallis being the recipient of a 5 star pile driver by the Young Bucks with assistance from

A. J. Styles.

Angle will be working in the UK for TNA I believe Jan 31 so he won't be in the Rumble. He's contracted to them through at least that date. Pretty sure it does expire well before Mania however. He can still work but he's really looking rough. It'd be nice to do one final Mania match but hope he transitions more towards acting or MMA commentating, etc..

If I ever watch Impact, its either fast forwarding through a recording or going to the Impact Wrestling Youtube page which is about giving Impact wrestling clips of their latest shows. I can't sit a whole show anymore. I saw Matt Hardy won their world title last night. After watching the camera work last night, whomever made the comment about Reby Sky in the Anderson/Hardy segment was spot on. I couldn't sit through that Anderson/Hardy interview segment more than a minute to even notice Reby Sky then.

I really don't see EC3 as a face working out....if that's what they do. Guy is a born heel. And maybe the best heel the company's ever produced.

Rewatched the opening segment. Wade Barrett sure found most of the segment funny as ####. I was laughing just watching him crack up the whole time.

I've enjoyed him both as a babyface and a heel. I don't remember him ever doing anything as lame as "rooty tooty booty" or whatever it is. His insults aren't very good anymore either. Maybe he's just a little rusty from not doing it as much anymore.

MONSTER SPOILER (sorry if you saw this before I put in the tags. I had a Botchamania moment)

Former NWA, TNA and IWGP Heavyweight champion AJ Styles will begin his tenure with WWE this coming week, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Styles is scheduled to be at the Royal Rumble this Sunday in Orlando, Florida as well as this week's Raw and Smackdown tapings in Miami and Tampa, respectively. Styles teased his debut over the weekend in The UK, noting on the mic at a RevPro event that should a Rumble match slot be "open for him", he would take it.

Whether he debuts at the Rumble PPV (and how he debuts) remains to be seen, but AJ Styles will be making his WWE debut very soon.

As previously reported on PWInsider.com, TNA made a heavy play to bring Styles, one of their original stars, back to the fold with a big money offer said to be 3-4 years in length, but in the end, Styles opted to sign with WWE.

Styles, 38, first came to prominence as an early standout in the first year of Ring of Honor before cementing himself nationally as one of the cornerstone stars of TNA's X-Division when that company was founded in 2002. He rose to World title main event status as well as becoming the star most associated with the TNA brand. Styles departed TNA at the end of 2013 when he turned down a reduced contract from the company during a time when they were cost-cutting at all levels.

Styles immediately returned to ROH and debuted as a regular for New Japan Pro Wrestling as a member of the Bullet Club, putting together an incredible string of in-ring performances in each company. In New Japan, he won the IWGP Heavyweight championship almost immediately and had two runs with the belt. He finished up with New Japan on 1/4 and this Saturday, will make a signing appearance that will double as his farewell appearance in ROH in Duluth, GA. For tickets to that event, visit www.ROHWrestling.com.

My dream result for the Royal Rumble match:

Brock comes in at 30 and clears the ring, throwing everyone over the top, except one that goes through the ropes instead of over. He and Reigns are the "final 2" and they both go over at the same time ala Bret Hart & Lex Lugar in 1994. They continue to battle, as the wrestler who never got eliminated rolls back into the ring. It's R-Truth! The announcers go crazy and R-Truth is handed the belt with that look of confusion he gets when he interrupts the wrong promo. Then he realizes he won and his music hits and he starts dancing and celebrating as the crowd goes wild.

It'll never happen, but it would be fun if it did.

your dream is for R-Truth to be champion. That's...interesting?

I wouldn't mind seeing Vince bend some rules. Maybe send a few extra guys in if Reigns has cleared the ring in the early part of the match. Or send out more guys after #30. Have a few tag teams go in together.

I seem to be in the minority, but I am really looking forward to Sunday's event. I think the undercard is stacked with good stuff and the Rumble will have plenty of drama with Brock Lesnar involved.
