Awful PPV. Another double count out for Styles/Nakumura?? :X And that match was going even better than the GRR up until that point. Not much to even say about the rest. I missed the Miz/Rollins match which was apparently by far the highlight of the whole card.
Maybe Vince likes Lashley but it's not apparent by his booking so far. Just boring, uninspired etc. I'm 44, and I barely know who Lashley is. I wasn't watching WWE during his last run. From what I've heard he's coming off of a pretty monster run at TNA or where ever, but if you don't know that, if you didn't watch the WWE 10 years ago, do the younger fans even know who he is, or care?

I'm not blaming Roman there. I'm blaming creative there. I blame WWE for most of this. I actually know people related to the Somoan Dynasty. Rock has family in Allentown and I know a few people who went to the Samoan wrestling School up there. Roman AKA Joe is pretty down to earth guy. He's pretty funny too. Most of his family hates his character push as well from what I heard. There's some family issues going on right now between the Snuka and Rock side due to the Jimmy Snuka stuff though. I was not privy to anymore info then that on it though but from what I've heard they all agree on Roman needing a character change. Even his brother Matt said Roman needed to go heel

I almost threw up with Nia's Be Star speech. Talk about a hypocrite. On Total divas she's always crying about people not liking her do to her weight and body shamming yet comes out and says she doesn't let it bother her? Also Nia called out a youtube content creator for some things he called her at RR. The dude apologized to her and she accepted it/ However it was posted on her twitter and her fans attacked the user. Making death threats, threatening to call child services to take his kids away etc. Nia was completely silent didn't say a thing to stop her fans from the attack. A few people including other Youtube creators called her out on that. They weren't defending what the content creator said (During her entrance he called her Nia The Battlecow ) something his daughter repeated while playing with her action figure a few weeks before. Ok that was bad but the dude apologized to Nia after being called out by her and she accepted it. No need for her fans to attack her. The whole Be a Star campaign is BS considering Cena's bulling backstage, JBL's on Mauro and many other stories we've heard over the last 5 yrs.

Also how pathetic is it that the WWE Championship is not as important as Roman Reigns right now? Despite the finish that title match should've been the Main Event. There's no need for Reigns to Main Event every PPV. BTW huge groups of the crowd left after the AJ/Nakamura match and during the Main Event. CM Punk Chants, Rusev Day, Beat the Traffic, Boring etc were chanted. I feel awful for Samoa Joe. This guy wrestled better people in a main event in TNA then Roman.

How many of the stories told last night are ones people want to see?
A) The hardest-working face overcomes a mid-match knee injury to defeat the best heel.
B) A near-giant defeats a "bully" just over 1/3 her size.
C) Two old guys have a forgettable match for the #4 belt
D) Two guys returning from injury face each other where the little popular one makes the 7 foot one tap out, only for the 7-footer to destroy him afterwards.
E) Undeserving champ beats the legend-in-the-making immediately after a fluke self-caused injury.
F) The two best workers both get low, both fail to make the count, causing a draw in the type of match meant to guarantee a winner.
G) Two physical giants dominate two popular heels.
H) The most played out face on the roster overcomes a beatdown to hit his signature move and win (i.e.; the most run match in WWE history, dating back to Bruno, and frequented by Hogan, Warrior, and Cena among others).
Give me A and that's it. Maybe D if you end it after the match with no beatdown.
How do they look at that list of results BEFOREHAND and not change things up? At the very least, do something to juice up Hardy-Orton, get rid of the Cass beatdown (and find another way to keep him strong), let Carmella cause Charlotte's injury somehow and give her a tainted win instead of a clean one, Have AJ-Naka end in the double countout after that chair to the knee - richochet to the face (lucky break there that could have been maximized on the fly), and have Reigns-Joe be a straight-up hoss match with no pre-match jump, where maybe Reigns finds a way to win with something other than the spear. And have the match you know will be far and away the best, Rollins-Miz, actually close the show.

The biggest problem with WWE is that it isn't a meritocracy at all, the champions are often the worst people on the show. They have this weird idea, that if someone is popular or at least doing something the crowd enjoys, that they don't need to win or be on every show, because they'll "in theory" stay popular regardless. Its insulting to fans, and the #1 reason why they haven't been able to have a mainstream success other than John Cena(and even that has been a rocky road) in 15 years.

There is the adage that "X doesn't need a belt to get over". The idea stated after the bolded isn't weird, it's a fact. (Playing devil's advocate) Why put a belt on Braun when you're going to pop for him regardless if he chokeslams the entire roster or makes fart noises under his arm? Look at NJPW; everyone would've have bet the mortgage on Naito beating Okada for the title at Wrestle Kingdom. It didn't happen even though Naito is just as (if not more) over than Okada. Japanese wrestling plays a long game with their talent, but WWE does it accidentally and with nothing aforethought.

WWE is just petty. Anything that gets popular not because of them (EX TEN CHANTS, Daniel Bryan, Rusev Day Chants, CM Punk, ETC) they want to keep down instead of going in another direction and using this to their advantage. This is no different then when Vince bought ECW and WCW and made the stars there look terrible besides a very select few. Vince has this mentally if it's not made by WWE it's not good enough. This is why a lot of people hope when the XFL starts Hunter takes a lot more control. He seems more in tune what the fans want as evidence from NxT and 205. Vince is more about the characters then actual wrestling. IMHO you don't need characters if you have two guys who can tell a story with their wrestling. Take Omega/Y2J match. It didn't need much story telling at all.

This is also the reason that Big Show could never gain Andre status. Andre was a huge attraction rarely seen for most of his career. Big Show was seen every week.

It helps that he's one of the lightest performers on the card (205 lbs) and he softens the blow by bending his knees as he lands and shifting his weight so it's not all centered for the blow. That's my observation, at least. I've heard guys say it's like taking a dropkick, but from a different angle.Smoo said:

I may be wrong, but Andre was a freak of nature. He had a gentle giant personality and by booking he could move from territory to territory so he wasn't over-exposed.
BS, by comparison, isn't as large, has a different personality and who wrestled in one organization for the early part of his career. I actually think WCW booked him closer to being an Andre than WWE ever did (weekly face/heel turns, anyone?).
To me, the blame rests on booking. BS can't change his personality, but creative could've used a more silent destroyer type gimmick for him. At this point in his career, it's really too late to change him to anything other than a mid-card attraction.

Also on the injury front, Brandi Rhodes broke her shoulder blade in two places on her recent tour of Japan. She wrestled two matches after that!

I watched the presser this afternoon. Two announcements regarding the actual card:
1) NWA president Billy Corrigan came out and stated the NWA title will be defended at ALL IN. Nick Aldis will take on Cody Rhodes.
2) Rey Mysterio is now on the card.
3) It was previously announced, but CM Punk will be signing at Starcast on 8/31.
4) Tickets are priced from $28 in the nosebleed seats to $153 at ringside. The Young Bucks said they were priced so they get the 10,000 fans.
There were calls for Flip Gordon to be booked. A “reporter” from the Flat Earth News asked if Flip was going to be booked. The reporter was discovered to be Flip & then Hangman Page put him through a table.

For those with the WWE network they finally added all the Sunday Night Heat episodes I was going back and watching the whole INVASION STORYLINE (One of my favorites too this day) and there was stuff from Heat in Matches I missing do to that. So it's nice to have had that added finally. I stopped watching right before the Survivor series and haven't finished.

Russo apparently made some disparaging remarks about Brandi awhile back that Cody and most of Bullet Club did not take a liking too. According to the actual story Russo was never invited to anything dealing with the event. When he first heard about it he offered his services. Since then he's trying to get attention to get on the show.
