It has been obvious for as long as I can remember that Flair a dirtbag, so this should not surprise anyone.

I cannot recall which ones, but I know there are a few teams in pro sports where his "woooo!" is used to pump up the crowd. Makes me wonder if they will ditch that now.

Don't think he's gonna be invited to North Carolina anymore for BB and FB anymore

The two cases I know of, both Pirates and Indians fans do it spontaneously. No encouragement from the teams. Fans of both teams hate it.

By the way, can we talk about the Scuds Britt Baker   and Ruby Soho launched at each other. It really hyped their match next week.

Forget that pissant AEW company.

It's time to Max the Max with the greatest wrestling in the world: it's the G1 Climax 31!

Loved all of Night 1. Tomohiro Ishii vs Shingo Takagi in the main was a 5-star special for me. Night 2 is in the books and I'm hearing that Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kazuchika Okada add another incredible chapter to their el clasico rivalry.

Personal ratings:

Yujiro Takahashi vs Kota Ibushi - 3.25

Tanga Loa vs Great O-Khan - 3

Toru Yano vs KENTA - 3 (comedy)

Zack Sabre, Jr. vs Tetsuya Naito - 4.5

Tomohiro Ishii vs Shingo Takagi - 5+

(I don't rate higher than 5 stars)

Finally saw the Dark Side Of The Ring episode, and agreed with everyone here's assessment of Flair, Hall and Dreamer. I was surprised that two of the guys in my local indie promotion (play by play guy and manager guy) were defending Dreamer on twitter pretty strongly. I know he did a show with them years ago, and I'm sure they are blinded by having a beer with the guy or whatever, but it really makes me think I might not support that company anymore.

They also claimed it was a double standard that Hall was fired by Hayes wasn't. So, maybe they just aren't very smart if they can't see the whole picture.

I just got done with it this morning. I had already read the comments on here previously and as I was going through the show, I couldn't understand the anger towards Dreamer. Then right in the last ten minutes of the show, boom, he absolutely scuttled his career with those series of comments. Wow!! How tone deaf can one be?

Flair deserves to be absolutely cancelled for his actions as well.

The amazing thing about Flair's part in that flight, is that not only did WWE condone it, they made it into a freakin' cartoon story for the Network with narration by Flair himself.

The biggest problem is, and we (of a certain age) are all guilty: that's Flair being Flair. "Oldest ride, longest line". "Kiss stealin' wheelin' dealin'". That whole "guys wanted to be him, girls wanted to be with him" was true. The guy would announce on national TV what bar and hotel he and the boys were staying at, and the women would come in flocks. JJ Dillion discusses in 350 Days how it was getting Flair castoffs. These guys didn't wrestle for the money, it was for the women and the vices.

Doesn't make what Flair did right, not at all, but it's almost what he thought he was suppose to do. King of the Jungle with a ton of young lions passing him by, pull out the helicopter trick.

I am sure I'm interpreting correctly, but could I get a cliff's notes on the hullabaloo from that show?
WWE wrestlers on a European tour. They are on the way home and get stuck on the tarmac for seven hours before being allowed to depart. They drink copious amount of alcohol and other substances and when the plane leaves, boys will be boys and various antics get played out. The story of Brock getting shaving cream put on his head by Hennig and the resulting fight, had to be terrifying to witness. I can't image a young, massive Brock picking Curt up and slamming him around that plane. Ric Flair decided to wear nothing but his wrestling robe and dance around the plane with his iguana twirling in the wind. He cornered a flight attendant and was very inappropriate. Scott Hall was drugged out of his mind and before being carried off the plane, made additional sexual advances to an attendant  The flight attendants sued and settled. Hall, Henning were canned. Flair got a pass and Tommy Dreamer decided to commit career suicide by basically victim shaming the attendants. Oh and Jim Ross is still the man.

AEW partners with Owen Hart Foundation

The company announced on Monday that it has entered into a collaboration with the Owen Hart Foundation that will include the establishment of an AEW tournament called the Owen Hart Cup. The tournament will be held annually, with the winner receiving a trophy called “The Owen.” Details on when the inaugural edition of the tournament will take place have yet to been announced.

In addition to the tournament, the collaboration between AEW and the Owen Hart Foundation will include the production of original Owen Hart merchandise. Owen will be featured as a character in AEW’s console video game that’s currently in development, and Owen Hart action figures, apparel, posters and additional collectable merchandise will be released. The action figures will be produced as part of AEW’s line of figures with Jazwares.
I'm happy to see this happen.

So they gave away New Day vs. Bloodline AND Big E and Roman (with Lashley) on the same episode of RAW? Never allow me to predict a slow burn story by WWE again.

Got caught up with Heels last night. Still a really fun, would even say good show. Mick Foley did a cameo in episode six as a podcaster which was cool. Added another hot blonde to the cast for additional secks candy and a kind of gruesome injury to push the TV-MA rating.

SDL was in the UK ironically so Roman and Bloodline went toRAW. I don't think Roman can travel being immune compromised out of the country right now

Weird rabbit hole I went down today: Coyote Shivers who was in Empire Records is married to Brazilian author and journalist Mayra Dias Gomes, who this group might know as May Valentine on NWA Powerrrrr.

Not wrestling related, but before Gomes, he was married to CSI star Pauley Perrette, and before her, he was married to the 13 years his senior Bebe Buell, who is Liv Tyler's mom, and he was her stepdad during shooting of Empire Records with her.

I think we can declare NXT officially dead. Another borefest tonight. People predicted this if it went to Cable like myself and others. We saw this before when Vince saw ECW popularity streaming on the WWE.com Website run by Shane. Goes to Network TV and starts losing that edge it had. In ECW's case they could get away with a lot of stuff doing it online they couldn't on regular cable. Vince again saw an opportunity with NXT and I think he was insulted how much more popular Hunter's guys were getting on the developmental brand over the main roster guys. Losing the Ratings war to AEW doesn't help NXT or Hunter either but NXT was already losing it's touch after Mauro Left and then Corey.

It was fun while it lasted. I didn't get into NXT at first as I didn't have the network and got into it during the whole Neville and Zayn title chase shortly before Zayn and Cesaro had their epic match (Oh what could've been with Cesaro had they put him on NXT for good) as well as the best of Sasha Banks. Got to finally see my Favorite wrestler outside of the states perform more often in Prince Devitt AKA Finn Balor, got to know and love quite a few, May have been one of the first who was obsessed with Becky Lynch when she first Debuted. Got to see Tay Conti in her raw form and what she's transformed into in AEW has been amazing. Saw one of my all time favorite Wrestlers and good buddy Austin Jenkins AKA Adam Cole get his well deserved chance in WWE, got to see TakeOver in Philly with an awesome match between Gargano and Andrade as well as TMDK one of my favorite tag teams, Tyler Bate in person, Got to watch Black and Cole in an extreme rules match and Met Black a few days prior, saw some awesome women's matches in NXT, Mae Young Classic and lets not forget Tyler Breeze vs Jushin Thunder Liger.

I'm gonna remember these things for years. Dam shame Vince always ruins everything thats good about WWE. might by the new WWE video game when it finally comes just to do my own fantasy booking but other then that WWE isn't getting a dime from me anymore. When do we get to cancel Vince?

The old NXT may be dead and buried, but NXT 2.0 is kinda fun. It has a chaotic early 90s energy. Not saying that's a good long-term prospect, but in the short-term I am enjoying it.

They've got something with Rick Steiner's kid.

I think we can declare NXT officially dead.

NXT 1.0 (or 1.5?) did what it needed to do. It rounded up the best indie guys and gals of the last 5-10 years, and got them a solid payday and exposure. Kevin Steen, Johnny Gargano, Sami Zayn, and others, while the darlings of the IWC,  were wrestling in front of a hundred people and getting paid squat. Also allowed the transfer of some Japanese talent over to the States, because they were going to get well paid. Shinsuke is not leaving his comfy home to come to ROH or Impact.

Now, there are no more "unknown" seasoned indie guys to give a big break too. Jon Gresham is awesome, but he's not going to move the needle. That well is tapped dry. So time to try something new.

I think it's going to be just fine.

Superstar Billy Graham hospitalized.

"Superstar" Billy Graham is currently hospitalized due to a number of health complications, including heart failure and fluid in his lungs. Graham wrote via his Facebook page on Sept. 19 — "Hi fans, There will be no wrestling post tonight. Just this statement from me. I am currently having heart problems which is the title of this message. I am getting ready to go to the Mayo Clinic to be checked out. I am not feeling well and if the hospital admits me, which I am sure they will for future testing tomorrow, I will have Mike, my FB Administrator, give you an update. Superstar B. G." The following day the page confirmed he had been admitted into the Mayo Clinic, with his wife Valerie writing, "They will take good care of him....we have The Lord on our side!"

Great show! I was hoping AEW would smash this show and they did what they needed to do.

Hats off to Bryan Danielson - what a debut into the company! Welcome home.

I know I shouldn’t have laughed, but Arn Anderson failing off the edge of the ring before the planned spot made me chuckle.

That whole series with Cody was a major botch all around. He is no spring chicken to be doing stuff like that.

Punk has the bigger overall fan impact coming in, but Danielson is by far the more impactful signing as far as in ring product. What a match. I have a ####ty memory, but that is one of the best singles matches I've seen I AEW. Classic slow burn wrasslin

Agree with all of this. Still amazing they gave us Omega v. Danielson on free TV to open the freakin' show. Match was stellar, lived up to the hype, and with the run-in left me wanting Omega/Danielson for the title, Adam Cole/Danielson, and Young Bucks v. Danielson with mystery partner.

Punk probably has a year to 18 months of being hot and him interested. Danielson feels like there could be another 5 years if he wants to.

G1 Climax Night 3 (A Block Night 2) Review:

Tetsuya Naito has withdrawn from the G1 Climax, having suffered a knee injury. Being a Naito fan is suffering.

There will be exhibition replacement matches, but don't think I'll be watching them unless one gets a particularly good review. The G1 is a marathon; one must pace their viewing wisely!

Great O-Khan vs Toru Yano - 2

Yujiro Takahashi vs KENTA - 3

Tomohiro Ishii vs Kota Ibushi - 4.25

Zack Sabre, Jr vs Shingo Takagi - 4.75

The finish of ZSJ and Shingo Takagi was AWESOME.

I had the match rated at 4 and the finishing sequence bumped it nearly all the way to 5.

New Japan is in my backyard this weekend, and I totally didn't know. Looks like tickets are mostly sold out for both nights, but might try and scalp a ticket if I get motivated.

You should definitely go. Went to my first nJPW show Sept before Pandemic. Met Tanahashi, Lance Archer, Mickey, Ibushi and GOD. NJPW is doing 2 night in OCTOBER weekend in my backyard but I might miss the Saturday show given I'll be traveling to come back from Vacation. Sunday show is doable but I can't seem to find anywhere they has tickets. I might ask a buddy to go who isn't into Wrestling but the only wrestling he ever saw with me was the Smackdown after the Royal Rumble that Rousey Debuted at. I think he might enjoy NJPW a bit better as it's more personable, up close and can meet some of the guys. At the old ECW Arena too Problem is I can't seem to find any tickets online and don't want to hedge myself into tickets I won't be able to keep either. AEW is also coming that Wednesday OCT 6 not sure if I can get out of work early ('ve been working early on Wednesday so I can send a note in). Might see if my one coworker is going because he just told me he's all AEW and stopped watching WWE completely. If he goes I at least have a ride.

Rampage was a fun 2 hours.

Best match on the Arthur Ashe card was Danielson vs Omega, but numbers 2-5 were taped for Rampage imo. I really liked SuperKliq vs Jurassic Express

The weird heartbeat convulsing Balor comeback was cool, right up until he rose up, and then they still played his music. I kill the sound right after he rises up.

And clearly God acknowledges the Head Of The Table.

Am I the only one who really hates this Becky heel run? If they're not careful,  they're going to ruin her too.

It's not great. It feels like during her time off her and Seth talked about all the costumes and catchphrases he didn't get around to during his biggest heel turn.

She is best as the scrappy underdog babyface or bada$$ anti-hero. I'm sure they were feeling like The Man gimmick was losing steam before the baby, and they made a decision, but I would have gone a different way for sure. Give me 6-9 months of a comedic "new Mom trying to wrestle" until someone pushes her too far, and then The Man comes back out.

So I heard Extreme Fools was pretty bad. No tables no TLC's, no chair shots, kendo sticks, but we had Alexa destroying some doll. Vince doing his best to make ECW an embarrassment these days. Co worker went to the philly SDL show. Apparently Pat McAfee did commentary and did a tribute to Sandman coming out with a Kendo stick and Enter Sandman. Also he rewatched SDL and WWE muted a lot of ECW chants. Typical WWE.

I need to get to the Sunday NJPW show after my vacation now. NJPW just announced

Street Fight

Suzuki Goon Archer/Suzuki

vs

Mox and Kingston

Take my $$$$$ you sexy Beasts!!!!!!! Also Osprey is wrestling that night too.

I'm so far behind it's not even funny. Im on vacation in almost 9 more days so I'll have time to hopefully catch up before I go to the Philly show on the 16th. When is the G1 final this year?

October 21, I believe.

We are about to start Night 5 now. So hard to keep up.
