Not surprising Cody leaving.

He left to create an alternative. AEW has become WWE-lite signing literally every former WWE/NXT performer when they said from the beginning wasn't going to be the case.

He sees AEW isn't growing in popularity/viewers whatsoever (only in payroll) and the ex-WWE/NXT guys are taking all the spots. They've got their little niche audience and they've got that rasslin 5 stars crowd that'll watch anything with wrestling in the name.

Fantasy Booking Question:   IF, and still right now an IF, IF Cody Rhodes (and I assume Brandi) are signed by the WWE, what story do you want to see? Or do you even care?

I’m not sure there’s one that wouldn’t involve fart jokes and back shaving.

But seriously...something with a WWE lifer could be great. Edge would tell the story the best, and they'd put together a good high-profile program.

Hope it's the Cardona track.

Otherwise really don't care. Good for him if he got the payday he wanted from WWE. I don't blame AEW for not paying him main event/top guy money either. Fairly obvious from his statement that Cody holds some resentment of tony Khan taking over from what he built/initiated and cut him out and turned it into WWE-lite. At that point, why not just join WWE?. Both companies programming are bad. One just may be longer and worse. You think about how many hours of programming both companies offer a week.....and how few minute(s) of those are worth actually sitting through, it's astounding.

Would love to see something super-meta with HHH. HHH makes fun of Cody getting booted out of the company he created. Cody can come back with comments on how NXT isn't even HHH's baby anymore. Couple of indie guys show up to help out Cody. Couple of NXT OGs (Ciampa, etc) come to help out HHH. I would watch that blow off one-on-one at SummerSlam.

Daddy pulling back the checkbook from Tony.

Look at the payroll at debut. Look at the payroll now 2 years later. And ratings have been down consistently 25-50%. Conservatively, I'd say payroll is up 50x.

Can anyone explain what these guys are even doing: Big Show, Henry, Christian Stunt, Stunk, Malakai Black, Miro, FTR, Andrade, Matt Hardy?  😂 Remember when WWE were "misusing" them? Really believe any of them are making peanuts?

Did Tony take your girl or something? Lol...you seem weirdly defensive about AEW.

Honeymoon phase is over. They've had no growth. At some point they'll cut all the useless excess. Khan just does debut after after debut after debut and then that person is just cast aside for a new debut.

So yours truly did some digging here.

Lets start with the contract. Cody wanted big money to continue but TK and others didn't think Cody deserved it. Another issue is because of fans turning on Cody TK and creative suggested to Cody the best thing for him to do was turn heel which he was unwilling to do.

Cody has heat with the Bucks and Kenny. If you remember me talking about why IMPACT partnered with AEW to begin with it was to use Rock and IMPACT's better relationship with NJPW to get back on track. AEW had a rocky (unintended pun) relationship with NJPW over some stuff that happened early on especially with how Moxley was treated with the US IWGP title. From what I was told most of that blame was put on the Bucks and Cody. I didn't get much in terms of what Bucks and Cody didn't like and caused a stink about however from what I was told recently most of the issues was put on Cody as he was suppose to be the guy to bridge the partnership. Apparently he was disrespectful to some NJPW reps as well. Kenny Omega had to intervene and  Chris Jericho got involved considering his relationship with NJPW and Don Calis to help out. They had to smooth things over with NJPW and this was a pretty big deal as TK and AEW wanted this relationship with NJPW to succeed similar to ROH and NJPW.

Also going back Cody backstage with Omega and the Bucks has been uneasy for awhile, hardly talk to one another anymore and said talent was uncomfortable with the situation. Some likened it who were part of WWE as Cody becoming a new Triple H with the ego and attitude. Cody would help wrestlers and talent but it was only those he was friends with while others he was off putting. If you remember a report awhile back about Cody's behavior backstage it sounds like some of this was true accusations wise. There was also disagreements on creative for certain wrestlers and Cody was not a fan early on of TK taking back more power on finishes as he thought in the beginning the EPs put themselves over a little too much and had to real them in the only way he could and that was having final say on booking finishes and pushes. Another issue was a disagreement on signing or releasing certain talent. Was not given specifics on this though.

As for Cody and WWE No one I've talked to have said he's definitely going to WWE. Some feel he might go independent. A buddy of mine at work and I were talking Cody may not wrestler but becoming back as a producer and possible take over NXT (Pun intended absolutely there). NXT is desperate for a better production and WWE did like a lot of what Cody did in AEW.

Either way thats what happened with Cody and it seems his ego is getting the better of him. Overall I've yet to hear how legit WWE interest is or him signing there.

Big Show was Brought in as an announcer for Rampage and Dark/Elevation

Henry with a similar role and he's a trainer and producer.

Christian is there more so as a mentor to younger talent such as Jurassic Express and give them a rub.

Stunt is gone already he was trimmed fat on JE and people liked Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy way more. Stunt redebuted in GCW during the Janela/Cardona match at Hammerstein

Black is doing his gimmick he had as Tommy End at the end of his Indy run prior to signing with NXT.

Miro I'm not sure what they are doing. Maybe he's hurt or taking time off I haven't heard

FTR are just being used as stooges for MJF right now.

Andrade I think they are trying to run him similar to the stable he use to have in AAA. I'm not that well versed in that storyline but I believing thats what they are doing.

Hardy was brought in similar to Christian with JE except it hasn't worked that well. I think Matt Breaks away when Jeff shows up

A lot of payroll will be off the books soon. TK didn't want to release people during a pandemic if he could help it. Now with things more open he can release or let contracts run out on guys that were enhancement talent.

Don't care and neither should anyone else. He'll be brought back as a huge deal at first and within a year he'll be back to the stardust gimmick jobbing to Omas or someone like that.

Buddy, I type this in all love:  a fantasy football message board is not where you are going to hit your dreams.  You obviously want to be the next Meltzer, or whatever.  djax.pwinsider.com ftw for you.

IF they can get him to work heel, jump Riddle, take him out for a few months, and go straight after Orton.

Appreciate it.I've said this numerious times including the Eagles Thread. Not looking to post breaking news or stuff.I'm fortunate to know a few people and sources in a few topics I discuss and honestly anything I find interesting for discussion purposes I'll post it on here. People can take it how they want. Some get upset with me because they think they have sources (especially the Eagles) and to an extent last year with wrestling on another forum because I basically showed what they posted was just BS or fake news as people like to say.

I don't care. Unfortunately thats gotten me kicked out of two groups, a wrestling FB group I joined last year that they didn't liked me because most of my info was right and I was becoming too popular to some of the older group members who didn't like it. I even said I wasn't trying to steal anyones thunder or be the most popular guy. Just handing out stuff I thought was interesting. I did call one of the guys out but it's because he was being disrespectful and trying to give a BS take as fact despite multiple dirt sheets not even me proving what he was posting was a lie

Was kicked out of the Football group for I don't know why I guess because my info was too good and never mentioned to anyone theirs was wrong. Found out after I left my Cousin and Uncle who were In the group along with several others who questioned the mods kicking me out also got booted.

Again I don't know. I just will post stuff I think is interesting or worth a topic on things I am allowed to put out in the public. If people don't find it interesting so be it

Tom Servo said:
Who needs Dave Meltzer?

Dave and Wade Keller are both getting way off these days. The brandi stuff was pretty bogus as a lot of the girls loved her and he probably talked to someone who defended Big Swole as I know Brandi and her had heat with one another. Swole thought Brandi was being disrespectful to her when Brandi was just trying to help her out. But like I said a lot of people said Swole comes off as someone who thinks she's much better then she really is.

So according to dirt sheets it sounds like Buddy Matthews is joining the House of Black and many in AEW knew he was coming with Big plans for him since Jan but weren't given specifics.

SI is reporting Cody will sign with WWE could be at PC this weekend to start work on vigilantes and videos to promote his return. Apparently WWE has big plans for him and he'll have a totally different relationship with Vince and Creative. They also reporter despite wanting to still wrestle Brandi wont be joining him.

Like I stated before Cody was upset about loss of power in Creative. It was reported yesterday Cody lost all creative control but so did most of The Elite EVPs because Tony Khan didn't think they could handle not booking themselves over others. AEW however has a lot of creative freedom and no creative team. TK passes off ideas for talent and tells them the direction they are going in with the character or company and the talent has free reign how they produce and get that to come off on TV AKA no written promos for wrestlers (wink wink nudge nudge Vince ya hear that?) per Miro on the Kurt Angle Show recently. TK took more control after the first year of AEW in final say and many of the EVPs were ok with it especially when TK explained his reasoning for it. Kenny took it pretty well compared to the others and the Bucks and company saw it as a chance to step back a bit and see it through someone else's view point. Cody apparently was livid about the decision and the power struggle started from there.

SI also reported that Cody's road case was empty and he did not go to AC for Dynamite so people saw him good as gone. AEW had also signed other big names recently to more pay. Cody wanted to be paid like a top guy again but TK said no this is my offer take it or leave it. I think Cody felt because he was just going to wrestle more and have less power he should be paid as a top talent. However Cody wasn't really drawing the ratings as some of the others had. Fans turned on him and I think his unwillingness to turn heel didn't help either. Why the fans turned I think thats something many of us are wondering still

Mark Undertaker Calaway is going into the WWE HoF This year a year after his kayfabe brother and real life Best Friend Glenn Kane Jacobs was inducted.

Undertaker was symbolic for not just WWE but wrestling as a whole. He spent his entire 'taker gimmick/persona in the WWF/E and was one of the few who didn't jump ship during the Monday Night Wars. Undertaker won multiple titles as well as having the longest Wrestlemania Undefeated streak in company history. Along with numerous iconic matches he was also known as the locker room leader.

TK says he has some exciting news for Dynamite on Wednesday. Speculation it's not a signing but something related to a possible partnership with another company or something. Wonder if something is going down with NJPW possible? If not it's a possible another signing.

Either way TK does keep the juices flowing weekly for fans unlike Smackdown or RAW where you really don't care anymore besides one or 2 feuds. AEW at least makes me wonder whats gonna happen next week and when the show is over even a bad show still leaves me wanting some more. Haven't felt like this for yrs with a company though other then the NJPW events

Stone Cold vs KO is reported for Wrestlemania.

GIMME A HELL YEAH!

You know WWE is desperate when they are trying to get Stone Cold to wrestle because a few yrs ago there was no chance in Hell WWE would ever clear him.

This has been reported for a few months now Stone Cold coming back to face KO. Not really sure how great of a match this willl be and I'm sure NBC will want Austin's character toned down a ton. It's like bringing back ECW without the violence though whats the point?

So a lot of people here know about my autism and stuff so this is pretty big news for myself and a lot of others. Brandi Rhoades built the KULTURE CITY partnership which helps kids on the spectrum and hand help helpful stuff like ear plugs, figet toys etc for those on the spectrum, having their own quiet rooms as well as catering so people on the spectrum or kids can still go an enjoy and event. Brandi said this was a close thing to her heart on interviews but never specified a reason for it such as family member on the spectrum, friend etc.

Someone asked Tony Khan what was happening now that Brandi isn't there and TK said the partnership will stand and he believes in it. He said he's had positive feedback by many and as long as both parties are ok with the situation the partnership will continue as it always has. This is big for fans of AEW on the spectrum or family or kids on it who can still go ad know they have a safe space for them to still enjoy a show.

Dave Meltzer last week reported that AEW might be signing Shane Swerve Strickland soon. Sean (I wanna wrestle but tell everyone I don't want to be part of the business) Sapp and co reported today Strickland should be signed by AEW as soon as March at Revolution PPV and it's been in the works since Jan.

Pretty sure that Miro is recovering from the neck injury.  FTR...lol well they made the mistake of being better tag wrestlers than the Bucks.  Can't have that :lmao:

Jim Cornette and Brian Last were talking about FTR recently.  They allege that the Bucks brought them in to bury them.  Have them win the tag belts, then later beat them for them, turn heel and steal their spot.  Logic is pretty solid with this.

Cody was the first domino. At lot of older folks doing #### all in A&W will suffer same fate (not getting offers to their liking ...and Cody is/was a lot more valuable to that company than Big Slow/Henry/Stunk/ Christian Stunt....ones that were lucky to Cash in with the money mark early on. Don't think these guys aren't getting paid handsomely right now.....

I don't watch his matches but Eddie Kingston is as good a promo guy in wrestling today. 👍 Only saw a couple clips but MJF/Kingston were very good promos with Puke/Jericho.  That's the type of stuff that'll attract a new viewers with a story to invest in.

Tony Khan with a big non-roster announcement next week on Dynamite. Really hoping it's some type of streaming agreement for PPVs and even episodes of Dynamite and Rampage. Just throw them on HBO Max. You could do episodes a week after airing or something like that. Everyone can be happy.

You can watch past episodes here.  Usually, the episodes are available after about 10 am the next day.

You'll need a login from your cable/satellite provider.

Bullet Club shake up in the USA. As some know Impact has had some BC run ins and Chris Bey of Impact became the first African American in the stable when he joined Jay White. G.O.D debuted recently and challenged The Good Brothers to a match at No Surrender where Jay White Interfered and hit Tama with a Switch blade costing them the match. This past episode of IMPACT essentially was a promo backstage of White with Bey and The Good Brothers where he essentially told G.O.D they were no more part of BC.

Really interesting turn of events and not what I'd have expected on How Good Brothers go back to BC. It was bound to happen and if it wasn't for the Pandemic would've happened sooner iMHO. G.O.D has Tama Tonga an original member along with Karl Anderson so it'll be interesting to see what happens

Jay White recently debuted on Impact and helped The Elite so we'll see what happens here. Gonna guess Cole turns on The Elite and thats when Kenny Omega comes back and blames Jay White and they finally have their One on One match for BC supremacy finally. Would be interesting in AEW/NJPW/IMpact did a war games type match pitting Whites BC vs Kenny and The Elite. Obviously the story is some what changed with Cody no longer in AEW and probably wasn't going to be part of the storyline anyway. Either way its interesting and one of the more intriguing storylines as it's across 3 different Wrestling Promotions and 2 time zones and countries.

We'll see where this heads though but The Good Brothers back in Bullet Club was always bound to happen like I said after they left WWE.

Ring of HONOR IS ALL ELITE TONY KHAN HAS PURCHASED RING OF HONOR!!!!!!  Very mixed Emotions for DJ right now. ROH originated in Philly my Hometown and my brother when he attended Drexel lived across the street from the National Armory and would stay at my brothers if the show was late. ROH has gone through some changes. Original Dojo was 30 mins from my House. Numerious stars I've seen before they were stars like Danielson, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, RedDragon, Adam Cole, The Bucks, Adam Page, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Colt Cabana, Low Ki, Rodrick Strong, Homicide, The American Wolves, Aries, Jay Lethal, Niguel McGuinness, The Briscos, the list goes on and on. I watched most of these guys before they became mainstream and popular.

ROH with it's partnerships introduced me to new stars in Triple A as well as NJPW. After Sapolsky sold ROH they became nothing what they were. They new ownership moved the HQs and Philly just became another tour stop. ROH Closing back in DEC was a heartbreak. To Hear TK and AEW Purchase ROH is exciting as quite a few of the originals are in AEW now and I feel it's become full circle.
