We get Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4th & Wrestle Dynasty on the 5th! Wrestle Dynasty looks like it’s the Japaneese verizion of Forbidden door. CMLL, AEW, Stardom and NJPW

2 epic nights at the Tokyo Dome

Really fun night. Supposedly some fans found Dijak at the event. Really loved the main event and Later match. First time seeing Shibata live again too. During the Bucks match a few idiots tried to start a Punk chant but was quickly overrode with he got fired chants. Crowd was not in Mercedes side and fully in on Vaquer. Mine just looked super sloppy in the ring and a tornado ddt from the ring rope just looked bad. The match wasn’t good and then we had some Boston idiot trying to get himself over so the crowd started chanting F the Celtics and Red Sox and then F Boston. The matches ended like 2-3 mins after that. I missed part of this match to go use the restroom and get something to eat and drink. Best part of this match was when it ended and Britt came out to a huge pop

Pre show matches were very good. Just got home after my GF and I spent the night at a buddies apartment before taking train this morning home. Overall just a really fun event.

Forgotten Door was atrocious.

MJF in his "big return" to hometown fights some nobody jobber to open the show.

Horrible PPV. Horrible Concept. Horrible Booking.

Ricochet's WWE contract officially expired at midnight on July 1. WWE moved him to their alumni section on June 30, just hours before his contract ended. Despite his contract's expiration, he couldn't appear at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event. Both WWE and AEW sources anticipate Ricochet will join All Elite Wrestling. Although there was speculation, Ricochet wasn't scheduled to face Will Ospreay at AEW's All In as of recent weeks. Ricochet had been written off WWE TV by Bron Breakker and was not involved in subsequent TV tapings. Samantha Irvin is expected to remain with WWE.

According to Fightful, as of now, due to Asuka's surgery, she is currently not expected back in WWE for the rest of the year. She suffered a leg injury two months prior to Backlash.

Fightful reports Will Ospreay vs Swerve Strickland took place at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door PPV because Will Ospreay wanted to eliminate the talking point of Swerve being a placeholder for him until All In.

Ospreay wanted to lead by example that anyone should be good losing to the world champion, as well.

Bully Ray Discusses Paul Heyman's WWE SmackDown Segment, Commitment To Story

Reviewing Heyman's performance on "Busted Open Radio," his former employee Bully Ray praised Heyman for his commitment to his story and his character. The two-time Hall of Famer remarked that not enough performers are willing to do what Heyman did in the segment, and gave an inside look at how Heyman likely prepared himself.

"Wrestlers should learn from what we saw from Paul Heyman," Bully said. "Most do not know how to do that. Those are the little things that matter so, so much. It looked like Heyman hadn't slept in days. You know why? Because he hadn't slept in days. I guarantee you that Paul was averaging one to two hours of sleep a night for three to four nights. Probably put himself through that hell to get his eyes where he needed them to be.

"He also is a master of making himself cry. I know exactly where he goes mentally to do this also. That's how you get the welling up, that's how you get the redness, the bloodshot. It's easy to not shave. It's easy to not dye your hair. But when you bring all of that together, you get the look that we got from Paul the other night. And when great characters meet great story, you get great moments like we got in Madison Square Garden."
Have to give Heyman credit here. He really went all out for last week's show. He really had that desperate, conflicted look down. Emmy worthy performance, if there ever was one for a wrestling show.

Let’s cheapen MITB win even more with Punk screwing Seth and Drew again. Now we got to wait a whole year for someone to win the briefcase again. If you want punk to Interfere just make it during the ladder match.

His time is ending!!! You won’t see him any longer!!!

Trish Stratus introduces John Cena who has a "The Last Time is Now" towel. Cena announced that he has officially retired from pro Wrestling. He says he'll be there when RAW moves to Netflix. Cena says the 2025 Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and Wrestlemania 41 will all be his last matches with Wrestlemania 41 being his final match. He will answer all questions in a press conference after the show. He thanks the fans. He says whoever you are. If you want some. Come get some because the last time Is now.

That was pretty lame/predictable.
It’s getting to the point of frustration watching. I just watch PPVs and this is the type of **** that reminds me why I stopped watching most of WWE to begin with. Paul has done some really good things for WWE but his screws have been super questionable at best but get pushed under the rug by the marks and those critics on WWE payroll already.

Nah, that was well done. It keeps the Punk/McIntyre feud as arguably the hottest one going (which is wild considering they have still yet to have a match), and reignites the Rollins/Punk feud since Punk screwed Rollins as well. Should make for a good three-way dynamic between those guys going forward. And continuing to strike the iron to keep it hot with Punk and McIntyre is the smart way to go rather than Punk just not appearing until he is good to wrestle (which could still be months away given that his arm was still wrapped last night, and I am sure he doesn't want to come back too soon and risk reinjury due to a premature return). Priest not kicking out before 3 on the pin attempt before McIntyre's music was bad, though.

Tonga Loa also botched a low blow. NJPW did a lot to mask that guys shortcomings . Just better off tagging with Tama.

Fatu looked like the best talent in the match. He’s really skinned down and he can show more of his athleticism now.

Best feud in wrestling. And they added the Rollins element.

Drew's music was late. You can see Priest's hand motioning to entrance way during the pin. He should still have got shoulder up as looked bad.

Drew has been so good with his promos lately. Few can touch Punk In promos head2head. Drew's done just that and arguably even more.

So when is Reigns coming back? I can see a Paul Heyman, Uso's, Reigns reunion and a feud for control of the Bloodline when he does. Hoping the Rock stays out though.

Agree on that. The botched low blow from Tanga Loa was rough too.

Some really fun moments too though. Always amazed these guys don't hurt themselves on these crazy ladder matches.
I hear that. That spot near the end when Knight was belly to belly suplexed over the top rope and on to the ladder literally made me wince. I know those guys know how to fall, and those ladders are gimmicked in a way to where it makes the falls far less painful than a normal ladder, but there's no way that doesn't hurt a little.

The payoff with McIntyre in this storyline should be epic, if done right. His eventual turn back to being a face will be epic as well, as you can tell the crowd is ready to cheer for him like nobody's business, but this feud with Punk has to run its course as well. If Punk returns to action and can stay healthy, a double turn late in the feud could be the way to go, as he is more of a ntaural heel, although nowadays the lines are often blurry between face and heel.
So when is Reigns coming back? I can see a Paul Heyman, Uso's, Reigns reunion and a feud for control of the Bloodline when he does. Hoping the Rock stays out though.
That is unknown, but it's a virtual certainty Reigns comes back as a face to take on the Bloodline members who have taken control in his absence, and since there is no way they don't do Reigns/Rock at some point, it will likely eventually come down to them duking it out to settle the fight for the title of tribal chief once and for all. It's kind of funny that after years of never really being over as a babyface (how many Wrestlemanias did he main event as a face and get booed pretty loudly), it took Reigns having a long run as a heel to get him totally over. His cheers when he returns as a face will be much louder than they ever were when Vince was pushing him too quickly.

Overall I missed a few matches went back and noticed the night was a botch fest. Started with KO show and sound and through the night. The laddies MITBM was lucky no one got hurt or killed.

The event was 3hrs and 20 mins with 1hr and 24m of actual in ring time.

Cena clarified that if everything works out he will wrestle through December of 2025 and his last match won't be at WrestleMania 41.

There’s plans to use Joe Hendry “heavily” as part of the NXT/TNA crossover in the coming weeks/months.

Fightful Select claims fans can expect more teases building to Hendry’s next appearance on NXT.

How about some more positive news on the WWE front?

Its been rumored that the WWE women's division is set to receive its own WWE United States and Intercontinental Championships in the near future

There's some talent on the roster that seems to get overlooked when only the top tier get to fight for the main championships. These will give some of the newer talent a chance to shine.

But I do wonder how they will fit all of these into the shows - building the storylines and the characters. There's a lot of talent on both shows (men and women), so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Less titles is better imho get rid of the women’s tag titles been awful and seemed curse since day 1

Logan is banned by the Japanese government do to a video he did awhile back. I won’t go into detail but if you look it up it’s pretty bad and was incredible disrespectful to the Japan Culture.

PWInsider is reporting that Logan Paul will not be on WWE’s upcoming tour of Japan because of “other commitments”

This will always be Brays best work. I think had they let this marinated more they could’ve done a lot. Had Bray as a manager occasional wrestler cult leader. Maybe held a mid card belt or something. Added one more after Braun plus sister Abigail.

11 years ago today (July 8, 2013) The Wyatt Family made their WWE Main Roster debut attacking Kane.

An update on Stephanie Vaquer's CMLL contract from LuchaBlog. LuchaBlog is basically your best source for AAA, CMLL and other Lucha Libre news:

"A source tells me Vaquer is under contract to CMLL at the moment, and has significant time left on that contract. The length of her contract is also not expected to matter much. CMLL has let wrestlers out of their deals when they have a big US offer, as long as they’re kept in the loop about the situation. Mascara Dorada/Metalik handling his departure to WWE so CMLL could say goodybe was the good ending, Rush posting a video from ROH declaring he’d left CMLL was the bad ending. CMLL wants to avoid is the Mistico to WWE situation, where they came off publicly as foolish and unaware that he had left the promotion, but the leaving itself for a better deal is not going to cause any trouble. Vaquer has a lot of loyalty towards CMLL, but any serious offer from AEW and WWE will likely be more than CMLL is willing to pay."

New York Post reports that ESPN announcer Joe Tessitore is joining WWE, and he will begin calling the action later in the summer of 2024.

Per sources, Tessitore will remain with ABC and ESPN; he works as a broadcaster for college football and Top Rank boxing.

Glasspiegel writes that Tessitore will lead a three-man booth with Wade Barrett and Corey Graves

Finn Balor tells What's the Story that he signed a 5 year extension with WWE:

“I have expressed my opinion to the Office. I would love to get to that (GUNTHER) match in the future.

So fingers crossed, I’ve got 5 years on me deal so we can get it done in the next 5 years. —

Yeah another extension for 5 years.”

Lol, what? This is, literally, the hottest (and most interesting) thing going on in wrestling right now. Who give a rat's *** about the briefcase? It's a tired trope anyway. The feud is absolute gold right now.

He hates WWE, and he really hates Punk, so he is always going to find fault with him and/or ignore it. Punk/Rollins had a great promo battle last night, yet he he didn't mention that in any of his 318 posts since last night. It's why this thread usually sucks, because he floods it with constant updates about the minor leagues (and often doesn't provide links with his "updates," meaning any of us could just make up stuff and post it as if it were fact as well) and ignores the big stuff happening.

I know, that's why I so seldom come to this thread.
I find AEW absolutely unwatchable. Every now and than I'll seek out a match I hear good things about, but I can't remember the last time I did that. The stuff with the Bucks and Perry is just one big circle jerk. All they do is kick out of finisher after finisher and no-sell everything like they're the freaking Road Warriors reincarnated and not some 180 pound , scrawny douche bags that look like they should be working at the local Walmart.

BREAKING NEWS: Stephanie Vaquer has LEFT CMLL.

CMLL and NJPW have announced her departure.

It's been reported that Vaquer has interest from both WWE and AEW.

It’s pretty bad dude if this was AEW or another promotion you’d being ****ting all over it
