Can anyone describe how Jordan Kent has performed? I also see that Courtney Taylor caught 2 balls.Where did these guys line up? What patterns did they run? Who is looking like most likely to get the most targets once the games are for reals? On one team I have all 3 of the young Seattle WR. I like Kent best myself. But will keep whoever will get the most targets.TIA for any info on this.
Courtney Taylor looks to be the starting flanker.Payne played with the first teamers, was lined up in the slot.Obomanu played a bit with the first team too but he came off the bench after Payne and Taylor.Kent's playing with the 2nd and 3rd stringers, I don't think they're looking at him for this season.
Thanks for the info.

At first I was psyched Rivers was all about targeting Chambers, but then he totally switched over to JacksonSwitched so much to the point that he started scrambling before he even would look over to Chambers. This just reiterates why Rivers is not very good. He's not bad, but if he's ever in the Top 10 QBs in the NFL talk, hes overrrated
Couldn't agree more. He's locking in on his first read like he's a rookie.
And Jaws was still saying that hes impressed with Rivers..Take away the wide open bomb to Jackson - where Rivers double clutched even - and hes like 7/14 for 70 yards in the first half..and I think most of that, as is typical in the regular season, is due to the explosive running of LT and Sproles.

And if you take away the 17 yrd, the 15 yrds, then hes like 5-12 for 40yards or something. heck if you take away his 25 wins, then hes 0-7 as a starter.

i just got home from work and watched the 4th quarter....but does espn think maybe someone actually is interested in watching the football game they are showing ???? have they ever considered that there just might be something to comment on,,,, like a block, run or tackle durring the game instead of putting the game off the side and interviewing people ??? wow i have never seen such a poor showing of a football game . those anouncers are the worst ever . they rival the old enberg/oleson combo who could always make a football game seem like a "pillow fight" . i might have to turn the sound off for monday night this year . ...rant over.... :football:

hah...somebodys a homerdid you actually just bring up the score in a preseason game? and one where the other team's QB didnt even play? or is that his record, i dont know?did you ever think he might have a good record due to a very good defense, the best TE in the last 5 years, and the best RB in the last decade? probably not, but im sure that has nothing to do with Rivers' recordRivers is average, deal with itETA: is your avatar a pic of merriman juicing? have fun without the stallone of football on your D

I was just saying the same thing to my brother. I don't know why they feel the need to step all over their flagship product. Constant interviews and conversations about nothing except rumors and gossip. Let the game speak for itself. At least there was no Kornheiser. Hopefully the regular season will be better but ESPN is really starting to circle the drain in terms of sports credibility.

Burleson came out of the game with an injured arm, no word on what it was, doesn't look serious though. Tatupu also came out of the game with a bruised knee, Holmgren said no ligament damage, but he will get an MRI tomorrow.

Per the Tacoma News Tribune:

http://blogs.thenewstribune.com/seahawks/

Nate Burleson is standing on the sideline wearing a big Ace bandage on is left arm. Through my binoculars, it appears as if he has a bag of ice under the bandage. He doesn't look too concerned, talking to a bunch of teammates, so I am not sure what is going on, if it is precautionary or he is out of the game because he could not continue...Seahawks PR says Burleson is OK and was yanked so the coaches could look at the younger receivers.
Lofa, on the other hand, left the locker room on crutches and looked very stiff. He made the comment that he was not going to be able to drive home once they landed.

Ouch. I didnt know about Lofa. I had to go coach my sons flag football team. This could be very bad. thanks for the info.

I enjoy PTI a lot, for both Wilbon and Kornheiser, but Tony def seems out of place on MNF. He doesnt follow football quite enough. That said, about half of what Kornheiser says is actually funny on MNF I think. At first I was apprehensive, but his MNF style has grown on me.Personally, I think Jaws is terrible as an analyst, and that kills it. Theyd be better with Steve Young in the booth than Jaws as far as im concerned, and thats sayin something. ESPN needs to find a more objective analyst with some neurons still firing

Rivers is a bit over-rated by the media, but it's hard to blame them. He is very media-friendly, and the whole playing with a shredded knee thing was quite amazing. He's still young, and it can take a QB 5+ years to fully develop. From the second he stepped onto the field at NCSt as a frosh, he seemed to have "it", whatever the hell "it" is. I think he plays like a pro-bowler for the vast majority of his career...time will tell...

Every time I see Rivers, I think of him yelling and #####ing at his home crowd. I think he is a very emotional QB, even in tonights game you saw him jawing at Seattle players while he was on the sidelines.

Homer as I may be, I find it comical anyone who plays the "If he didn't throw that 50 yard bomb he would have had a subpar game" card, its laughable. That doesnt just go for Rivers, its for anyone in the NFL.And yes. it's his record, yep he has been starting for 2 yrs and is 25-7. If he goes 25-7 the next 2 seasons he will be 52-14, most Charger fans will take it, the haters can hate on. And the avatar is Igor not Merriman.

I dont pull the subtract-the deep-throw typically, but Jackson didnt have anyone within 15 yards - and he still double pumped. It wasnt about his skills, it was that he had a WIDE open WR and double pumped. Answer me why he double pumped and maybe ill back off.And like I said, the Chargers are good because they have the best RB in a decade, the best TE in a decade probably, a great OLine, and a very good D. The Chargers are good because of that, not because of Rivers

Very true..I might upgrade him to an 84 in Madden instead on an 83

I don't mind Kornheiser--I at least find him humorous--but every time Jaws opens his mouth I want to turn off the TV. I hate him on the Sunday morning pre-game show and, by far, preferred Steve Young when he was there. Not only do I find Jaws unintelligent about football matters, his overdramatic style and the fact you can always see right through what he's saying are just irritating.

kind of the same for me. Jaws is good but not great. His style gets a little repetitive. I actually liked Dan Fouts analysis when he was on MNF but they had him paired with Dennis Miller. Fouts is covered by the stink of failure because network execs were grasping at straws.

Jaws is an excellent analyst, but now that the ESPN MNF schtick factor has infected him too, he just clowns around in the booth and sucks along with the rest of them. I'll never forget how good that second team of Nessler, Jaworski and Vermeil was two years ago. That was the best MNF broadcast in years.

terico could make the earth exploding sound borring . and ive never heard a guy that claims to watches so much film make such poor comments as jaws. remember all the spitting and "no pro potential" he spazed about colt brennon in the draft ?

in contrast i will say how awsome the sunday night broadcast combo of sharpe, faulk and deon s was sunday night . i was very sceptical because although i really like sharpe i have never been a huge fan of faulk or deons comments . i loved the combo of these 3 guys . it was much more "insightfull" to watch the game with all 3 guys being former players . i liked the comments about formation strategies and such . i thought it felt like you were on sidelines on a team almost with these guys . :pickle:

does anyone have some insight into Forsett's performance last night? i imagine they were giving duckett and jones time to really see where the depth chart order rests but 4 attempts for 9 yards isn't building a compelling case to move up.

His kickoff returns weren't impressive either. As a hopeful Forsett owner I don't want last night's performance to be decisive in their decision to keep him versus Duckett.

i apologize for the long quote, but

Sproles has pretty much made Michael Turner look average based on the past few years. I know its preseason, but his instincts are fantastic. Its like he instantaneously makes a decision, goes right to 4th gear, and his brain has already mapped out his next moves.I havent seen 1 LT owner pick him either
LT owner here. I drafted Sproles and was not going to keep him. I was going to keep Vick as WW fodder (contract league and he is still under contract) for later in the season. Listened to too much hype about the white kid from LSU. After last night, I dropped Vick (eating his salary) and inked Sproles for the next 2 years at the league minimum. I wasn't going to sign Sproles after he tore it up early because I saw Hester trot out there to punch it in from the GL. I didn't want a guy that was only going to run to the 5 and have the FB come in for the TD. But then Sproles had that GL TD. That tells me that the hype for Hester is a load of crap and that the coaching staff will give Sproles GL touches should LT get injured...

Very, very :scared: Jaws has gone downhill from that game, IMO.

I grabbed him late in a dynasty draft. i read somewhere that it looks like they'll keep him. i am hoping that the running game sputters enough that Holmgren gives him a shot mid-season. I don't think he has to do much to get ahead of Duckett or Jones.

That's my thinking too. Fortunately our rosters are deep enough that I can find a spot for him to wait a while this year.

You two are clueless about this subject. I can think of at least 5 separate plays in last night's game alone that Rivers went through his progression and hit the open guy even though it wasn't his first option (often times it was his 3rd or 4th). Yeah he should have gotten the ball out to Jackson quicker on the 50 yarder, but he still completed the pass. Rivers is going to have a big year this year.

On a night where literally every other SEA RB looked like a world beater due to the lousy SD defense, Forsett looked bad. And he his carries against the 2nd/3rd string SD defense (although that might have been an improvement over the 1st string SD defense). I had my eye on Forsett as an early WW pickup, but I'm thinking he'll start the year on the practice squad now - I think T.J. locked up a roster spot last night.

does anyone have some insight into Forsett's performance last night? i imagine they were giving duckett and jones time to really see where the depth chart order rests but 4 attempts for 9 yards isn't building a compelling case to move up.

He wasn't given a whole lot of opportunity last night to run, though that fumble was bad. I don't know how you can say TJ locked up a roster spot, as Forsett has outperformed him in 2 of the 3 games this preseason. I think it will come down to the fact that Forsett will have value on special teams, while Duckett won't. Seattle already has Weaver and hopefully they retain Schmitt as well. The Schmitt and Weaver back field looked to be pretty good in short yardage situations.

Special teams is important, but I don't see Forsett and Ducket as having the same skill set when it comes to RB, Forsett looks to be more like Morris/Jones. I didn't think Schmitt looked good at all when carrying the ball. Weaver's the FB and is guaranteed a roster spot. We'll see. I know Forsett has been a sleeper darling for a decent number of people here, but I didn't see it last night. Putting the ball on the ground drops you on the depth chart pretty quick. I think they can safely stash him on the practice squad. :goodposting:

Then Duckett's two fumbles this preseason must have put him last on that depth chart. I am not talking sleepers at all, I am talking about who makes the team. Forsett will be needed in the return game, because it has been speculated that Holmgren is wary about have Burleson (the only healthy veteran WR) returning kicks. Schmitt carried the ball once last night that I saw, on a FB dive, I don't know how you can make an extrapolation on his running skill from that. From all three games that SEA has played, Duckett has had at most 4-5 good carries, and two fumbles. Taking in the big picture, Duckett hasn't shown anything on the field that someone else on the team cannot do, and Forsett has, imo. His return game was a little off last night, but he has been more the most consistent return guy so far this preseason.
