Any word if Concacaf overturned Klinsmann's suspension for the final? I looked a couple places and haven't seen any updates.

Suarez is not worth 40mil, imo
Agreed 100%.
Now that Higuain's gone, I think he is. They don't have other options in the market, that is unless you'd instead like Rooney, who I view as being inferior at this point. Lewandowski looks like he's just going to stay at BVB for another year before leaving on a free to Bayern. Who else is left who's in his prime, proven and available?

Higuain seemed like more of a "sweet spot" meeting of value and cost, and I'd like to know why they didn't end up getting him for 31M. And of course they'd have been paying a non-English team for him.

Rooney inferior to Suarez as a player? What're you drinking' son? Suarez may be a better pure striker. But Rooney brings so much more to the table it isn't even a contest who I'd rather have on my team.

If you're talking about raw talent, I agree. What I'm saying is that I see Rooney tailing off. He doesn't perform at elite levels all the time, and he's got the type of body that's going to pack on the pounds if he lets up. I trust Suarez far more to stay hungry (the good way, and no pun) over the life of a four year contract at this point in their respective careers.

Higuain would have been a great move, but missing out on him doesn't mean they need to over pay for someone else. The window has time and other players may become available. Even a veteran rental until the January window or next offseason would be wiser than breaking the bank for Suarez (again, David Villa looking like complete robbery) who can't even play in a big chunk of games and is a risk to be suspended for even more time. Why not take a poke at Lewandowski? How about Fred? Is there a Ba type that will become available in January again? Just because Beneteke resigned does't mean he's off limits, does it? We've seen resigns and then transfers.

Or Rooney. He's better than Saurez and cheaper.

Reputation points? Significant enough to drop it and actually sign someone.

Why don't they get Fellani for a fraction of the price?

The problem is that they simply can't do nothing. The amount of top clubs in transition this year in the PL is very rare, and that combined with the new spending ability after years of relative austerity means that the club needs to move to regain credibility both in the transfer market as well as with its own fans.

I'm not advocating to spend for its own sake, but they've been much too passive in the transfer market by allowing other teams to make their moves, before completely fumbling the thing with Higuain.

NEW Fulham owner Shahid Khan has cut the club’s ties with a mysterious money-lending firm.

Since buying out Mohamed Fayed this month, Khan has repaid a £15million loan plus interest which Fulham had taken out with the Vibrac Corporation in April.

The Premier League club had put Craven Cottage up as security for the money.

But documents filed at Companies House reveal the charge Vibrac — a firm based in the British Virgin Islands — held over the Cottagers’ home has been paid in full.

Khan’s latest move means Fulham are now clear of significant debt.

This BVB-Bayern game is crazy right now.

Three goals in not even three minutes. :o
It did get a bit crazy. It was an odd lineup from Bayern. I can only think there are a bunch of little injuries that led to it.

Van Buyten was an absolute mess in the back.

Just read that the quarter final on Fox drew a 1.2 which is higher than the Champions League final. Excited to see what the ratings are tomorrow.

Yeah, between Starke, Van Buyten, and the lack of a true holding midfielder, that was hopefully about as weak of a defensive lineup as they'll ever roll out.

Interesting coaching technique from Pep. I'd like to see him try this with Schweinie or Neuer.

He seems to like putting his hand on players' faces. Not hitting, but when they come off the pitch or he's talking to them, I've seen him do it a couple of times.

Maybe that is why Zlatan didn't fit in. Nobody hits Zlatan.

Gotta go to a stupid birthday party in an hour with my son. It's a pool party so it's going to be tough to steal TV time. :kicksrock:
