Arsenal will allegedly make a statement on this tomorrow
Wasn't the second foul after the incorrect offsides call? I thought it was a makeup from the refs. From EPL Talk. Holy crap.

Worth watching though even if it turns out to be nothing. 4-4 is most unusual. Even if didn't happen here, this is clearly one of the hazards of in-game line changing.-QGSounds like French sour grapes about having a 3rd tier league.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...senal-game.htmlbentley said:From EPL Talk. DC United played a friendly against the Canadian U20 team.Davies got the start up front with Ngwenya. Davies had a goal and an assist in the first half. DC was winning 4-0. Ngwenya had a hat trick.Davies they played up front with Josh Wolff in the second half and was subbed out I think around the 74 minute.

This page has been taken down and the story is nowhere to be seen on the Telegraph website, nor anywhere else. the real funny looking dealThat dude is the real deal.Neymar was pretty impressive vs. Chile
Is he going to Barca? That dude is the real deal.Neymar was pretty impressive vs. Chile
There was that Chelsea rumor... what- last summer?Does anybody think the EPL would be a good fit for him? I got to watch him play live with Santos vs RedMetros and while he obviously has the skills, he also seemed to get knocked off the ball more often than not- although not as easily it might seem given his size. I think La Liga would be a great next step for him, but can't imagine him playing... pretty much anywhere else- at least until he's shown he can take a rough and tumble league. Is he going to Barca? That dude is the real deal.Neymar was pretty impressive vs. Chile
Chelsea is the team that has shown the most interest in the past, but his Brazilian team has made exorbitant demands. Gotta figure with his price tag, he's going to go to a huge club.Is he going to Barca? That dude is the real deal.Neymar was pretty impressive vs. Chile
No freaking way.Fwiw- I played in the same types of leagues here in NYC and in SF... not sure why I'm blanking on the league here, but in SF it was the exact same relegation/promotion set-up as you, although IIRC, there were a couple more leagues (7 maybe). A bunch of older guys from different High Schools in my county (just outside SF) who had all played Div 2 or 3 ball in college (Humboldt State, mostly) and who had played occasionally for better teams in this league got together a local team to play. Even though they were at the least 2nd division quality in this league based on where they had played individually, they had to start at the bottom and work their way up- which they did without fail, winning their league or at least promotion every year until making the Top League (we just called it Balboa, which was the name of the stadium where the games were held). I moved back there for a couple of years between college and grad-school just in time to play with them in their first year at the top.Now that I think about it, I played in that league for an Italian team for a year when I was a teenager... got brought in with a couple of other guys and my old coach to help them try to fight off relegation (they were mired deep in last place when we got there). We ended up losing a relegation playoff to a Honduran team made up of cats their management had brought up from the mother country to play (and work in the sponsor restaurant)... was told one of the guys had been playing in the Honduran 1st Div but wanted a better life in the states (rumor was he making $1,500/game). So even these flown-in, truly semi-professional ringers had to fight their way up to the top flight.Your old team-mate's team should stop their belly-aching and get busy earning their promotion.A little digression from the pro talk - what are people's thoughts on this?As I've mentioned, well, a lot, I do play in the local competitive league. The league has 5 divisions and a promotion/relegation system similar to European leagues, and there are 54 teams total. Some clubs have multiple teams (our club has 2 teams, some have 3) similar to how, say, Real Madrid B play just 2 divisions below Real Madrid). The top leagues are heavy with semi-pro teams, former semi-pro guys, guys who played high level D-1, etc. The lowest division is comprised of, at worst, average/above-average former high school players. Our team (mostly high school/D-3/"club" college former players) recently won the 4th division and were promoted to the 3rd division. One player on our team has quit our team to join a startup team with a guy he works with. The guy on our team was one of our best players, a former college starter who, to his credit, should probably be playing for a better team in a better league. His new team's captain has put together an apparently impressive collection of talent....and has put in a formal petition of some kind to get his team placed immediately into the top division. Top division and 2nd division teams are protesting - they've battled for years to get to where they are and have earned their right to play in those divisions. The lower division teams are raising questions as well - they don't want to play a game where they know they'll get their asses kicked - it's frankly not fair to put this new team in the bottom division.Any thoughts? I kinda think they should have to start at the bottom just like everyone else...but what fun is it playing in a league where you win every game by 6 goals? And even worse, no one has fun playing against that team.
Aren't the foreign teams the best? There are a number of right-off-the-boat teams in our league- Ukraine and Poland being the most notable. Just something funny about watching a bunch of crazy eastern Europeans screaming at each other in Ukrainian when they make a mistake.I agree with you, I guess I just kinda feel bad for the lower division teams that are really just out there to screw around, as they're probably gonna get their asses handed to em. I don't doubt that this new team would beat us as well. I guess I kinda feel bad for my friend, too. He moved back here after college and tried desperately to join a team in a higher league, and no one offered him a spot - although he's certainly deserving of one. Kinda funny, though....these teams afraid to take on players who aren't well-established, don't have any friends on the team....our team picked up 7 starters (myself included) in the past 2 seasons and jumped from 10th (of 12) in the 4th division, 1 spot above relegation, to top of the league and moving up.No freaking way.Fwiw- I played in the same types of leagues here in NYC and in SF... not sure why I'm blanking on the league here, but in SF it was the exact same relegation/promotion set-up as you, although IIRC, there were a couple more leagues (7 maybe). I get what you're saying... the bottom leagues in SF didn't seem like they had an end goal other than just having fun and if the byproduct was winning, getting promoted and getting to play better teams, :confetti: . Meanwhile, the upper leagues are far more dedicated and serious- almost business-like... most of the teams that get relegated ended up bouncing right back up.Seems like maybe there should be an A and B set of leagues in place to provide for new serious teams getting a chance to not have to waste a few years... that said- I'm going to change my mind... new teams NEED to sludge through a few years to make sure they're intransigent and/or worthy of playing against teams that have been doing it for a long time. And from what I saw, the cream always rose to the top (my old team and that Honduran team).Aren't the foreign teams the best? BEDLINGTON, England — The phone first rang a year ago in January. The caller identified himself as Bob Rich, a billionaire American businessman and sports team owner. He had English royals among his ancestors. For Christmas, his wife had bought him the title Lord of Bedlington. And he wanted to do something, well, lordly.
In particular, he wanted to sponsor the Bedlington Terriers soccer club. This had to be a joke. A guy named Rich wanted to help finance a team that played at a stadium called Welfare Park? Right.
Americans invested in English soccer teams, but they opened their wallets for big clubs in the Premier League: Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa. Who would possibly be interested in the Bedlington Terriers?
This was about as far below the Premier League as one could get. Bedlington was a ninth-tier team from the northeast of England, near the Scottish border. Its players were semiprofessional. Matches drew 60 to 100 fans. The team’s video department consisted of a guy who stood behind the goal and captured highlights on his iPhone.
“I thought someone was winding me up,” said David Holmes, the team’s chairman.
But Mr. Rich was serious. He was a frozen-food mogul from Buffalo, the chairman of Rich Products Corporation, ranked 488th on the Forbes list of the world’s richest people, with an estimated wealth of $2 billion. A former athlete, he had tried out for the 1964 Olympic hockey team. And he knew a thing or two about sports marketing, since he already owned three minor league baseball teams, including the Buffalo Bisons, the Mets’ top minor league affiliate.

From the beginning, Mr. Rich made it clear that he did not want to buy the Bedlington team. American owners of English soccer clubs have been met with great skepticism after frequently incurring mounds of debt. Instead, Mr. Rich bought a jersey sponsorship for about $16,000 a season and a new scoreboard costing “well north” of $50,000, but he never promised to “splash the cash,” as they say around here.
He intends to foster a kind of mentor-student relationship, lending his company’s expertise in promotions, groundskeeping and customer relations in hopes of creating a cultish buzz about the Bedlington Terriers as plucky underdogs.
After Honduras asked Osario to quit his club job immediately to take over Honduras he has officially declined to become head coach of Honduras stating that he believes in fulfilling his contracts.* One Honduran item that is confirmed is that former Red Bull and Fire coach Juan Carlos Osario has been named the head coach of the Honduran National Team
That was a fun game to watch. Yeah, this got some local publicity maybe 6 months ago when he started backing them. I actually nearly bought a jersey around Christmas-time just for the gimmick of it, but ended up passing on it.The Rich family is very, very well-known locally. Rich Products is HQ'd in town (about a mile from where I live, actually) and is one of the biggest employers here. I'd have to imagine that it's one of the country's largest privately-owned companies - I looked this up, it's #161. As the article states, Bob Rich Jr (company was founded by Bob Rich Sr.) does own the Buffalo Bisons (AAA baseball, Mets affiliate) and you may remember the old name of Ralph Wilson Stadium, where the Bills play.....Rich Stadium.Hey Steve... do you know this Rich character? Maybe he can back your team too? Interesting (excerpted beggining of a) story in the NYTimes today...

Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose has been linked with a possible move to Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls.
The team are looking to add a third Designated Player to their squad list after former River Plate and Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel's contract expired with the club and subsequently moved to rivals Los Angeles Galaxy. He would join former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry and Blaugrana defender Rafael Marquez as Designated Players at the Red Bulls.
According to Sportal, the German international's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and could move to the United States to finish off his footballing career.
Clubs such as Juventus, Real Madrid, Lazio and Racing Santander have reportedly shown interest in the Polish-born 32-year-old.
Klose has scored 58 goals in 105 international matches for Die Mannschaft, including 14 World Cup goals.
