I really love watching the Spanish team play. IMO it's soccer at its purest -- pass and move and work for each other. Just love it.
The Irish are still singing, and the game has been over for five minutes. Kind of like '40' at a U2 concert I guess.

This is back of the envelope stuff, but it's incredible IMO...
Let's say Spain completed 800 passes today. Assuming 95 minutes of play that's a pass completed less than every seven seconds.
But Spain didn't have the ball all the time - according to Soccernet they had 66% of the possession. And the average game features something like 67-68 minutes of actual play, so let's call it 69 minutes to be conservative and make the math easier.
66% possession from 69 minutes of play is roughly 46 minutes of Spanish possession. So Spain completed 800 passes in ~2760 seconds.
Which works out to a completed pass every 3.5 seconds.

Unfortunately, I didn't see the game, so I can't comment on el niño's play. From all accounts, he had a great game. Maybe he needs more Spaniards around him to allow him to shine?

I didn't see all of the game either. The first goal he just picked Dunne's pocket and finished very emphatically. The second he ran in behind the defense and finished well at the near post. He looked a touch awkward shifting to get his shot off, but he was effective enough.The supporting cast he has on the Spain side is ideal for him.

You can attach me to Juventus. Not sure why I didn't say that in the first place since it they were my intro into club football. And since they dominate the Azzurri XI, I find myself cheering for Italy as well. Wolves didn't work out so well so I might be adding an EPL team although I am not leaving their side. I am hoping to add the soccer channels this fall so I might find favorites in La Liga and the Bundesliga.

Not sure I've heard anything like it from a fans' whose team that was so thoroughly thrashed. Goes on for several minutes after this video ends as well.

Depends. Before the game? No. If it's 2-2 or 3-3 in the 85th minute you might see both sides start to do a lot of passing around between their back 4s.

The German feed captured this moment pretty well, and the announcers mostly kept quite during the 6 minute rendition of this powerful song. Also, for anyone who had doubts, Roy Keane is possibly even more of a ##### bag in retirement than he was when he played. I hope Ireland revoke his citizenship and he lives out his life as a begger forced to sell sex for food in Kabul. God I hate that guy.
