I'm watching this pregame show on univision (I'm not sure why) and they just interviewed Landon (didn't know he could speak Spanish). He told them he had no preference between Mexico and Honduras. That's an interesting viewpoint.
Landon grew up playing with Spanish speaking kids which is where he picked it up.

I am very impressed with Honduras. After a rocky first 20 minutes they gave as good as they got. Not sure they can do it for another 45 though.

So first off- #### TIME WARNER CABLE.

Thanks for cutting out my DVR at 7 minutes into the US game. Really- thanks for that. And especially after cutting out of the Euro CL finals AND semifinals too. And thanks for sending a technician out (and thanks for your nice 4 hour window) after the latter ####ups to "fix" the problem. Thanks x ####-you squared.

I raised the question after the Jamaica game of whether any credit for that great performance/result should go towards the suprise of throwing a new formation at them- something Jamaica probably hadn't even thought to game-plan.

From your guys' comments, it sounds like Panama mebbe game-planned a bit and wasn't too surprised.

What happened? Sounds like high pressure... but what happened to that great spacing Jones/Bradley/Sascha had going? Was it just the high pressure... and that's all? We really don't have players who can handle that? (I know the answer to that- rhetoricalish question). How'd the US look defensively? Agudelo do much?

Nice goal though- and great to see Freddy contribute. Was he able to handle what sounds like a physical game?

Still ####### fuming that my cable company ####ed me here. AGAIN. But at least I get to kill another 4 hours on Friday for them to "fix" the issue.

wow... still 0-0 for Honduras and Mexico... lol- my CRT TV is so old, I can't even read game clock. 60-something? 80-something? no idea. Funny to me- my Spanish is non-existant, but I'm getting the impression the announcers and broadcast are decidedly pro-Mexico. Every Mexico thing gets replayed and the announcers go crazy over their touches. Honduras draws crickets. Or I just don't speak spanish and am wrong.

Did anybody catch the Copa Libertadores final? I caught the last 15 minutes or so... and then the all out brawl after the final whistle. I really was wishing I spoke Spanish right then- I had no idea what was going on, but it was pretty intense. Anybody know more about it?

60th minute from my feed. Mexico not pressuring as much. Listening to Pandora and not the game.

Honduras looks to have the better chances right now. I'm pulling for Mexico, but this is a nice game both ways.

It was chippy at parts, too. Mexico is pressuring everything and I would expect an early 2nd half Mexican goal. I don't see a Honduran goal coming.
I am still very impressed. This half is very even. Still think Mexico is going to break through but Honduras is not playing scared at all.

Makes sense. Mexico in the finals means huge ratings for Univision.

Damn nice save!

Wait- so btw- the US had that much trouble with Panama, and Panama was missing arguably their best/most dangerous player in Perez?

It was not a good game at all for the US. If you watched the post game they made it seem like the US played well. They did not. In fact the goal came slightly against the run of play.

Ugh.I didn't watch the post-game... I was on the phone screaming at Time Warner Cable.

Like you guys, I'm liking the high pressure Honduras is bringing. Would bet that they run out of gas and either have to drop back in extra time, or get tired and make a fatal mistake... but I'm still liking it as a blueprint for the US.

So.This GC making anybody else nervous about WCQ, especially given the new format?
The new format was tossed. The format is now the same as it has been for a few cycles now. US does not enter until 3rd round. Needs to finish in top 2 to make hex.

wait... what?when did that happen- and more importantly, did I already comment on it? it's not even ringing bells right now.
Right after CONCACAF did not get the 4th WC spot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification_(CONCACAF)

US V Mexico it would seem.

Adu get a shot at super-sub in that game or does Bradley keep him off the bench? I know he is too slow, short, small, lazy and fat...
