Porto look pretty good here, but they haven't gotten anywhere near the net. It feels weird seeing Barca with a different sponsor on their jerseys.

Really happy to catch a reply of the Benifica-Twente game. I hadn't seen Aimar play in a long time. He was fantastic. Recognized a lot of Benifac players. Really enjoyed their game. Going to make a point to catch some more of them. Especially the CL games.

Yes it does. I hate it. I don't want to wear anything with that country's name on it. Messi strikes again!!!!!!!!

MLS starting to look a lot like Scottish Premier League

I think this chart is just before Keane so LA is likely much higher.
Except that Rangers and Celtic EACH actually win things as opposed to this.
Would you consider this the biggest fail in MLS history if red bull finds a way to miss ten team playoff? If not the worst it has to be darn close.

Hey, at least you have a real team, real stadium, real field, real players. I am stuck with a total embarrassment up here where the latest is a new policy to throw any supporter out of the stadium who swears. I kid you not.
Biggest FAIL by far. It's shameful that they can't produce, given that lineup. I haven't seen them play live since the beginning of the season, when they seemed to be clicking. I have no idea what's going on out there- but from a TV point of view, it still seems like they're not generating consistent attack from the middle of the MF or defending from the middle of defense. Marquez seems a bit lost, IMO.

Why NOT play a soccer game in three 30 minute periods?
Soccer fits extremely neatly into a 2 hour window for most games which is important for tv. 3 periods might push it over that edge. Just a thought, might be bogus. Oh and never forget that unless FIFA is being bribed, they move like tectonic plates when it comes to looking into changes in the sport.

You will be thrilled to know they just announced that they will be bidding bribing on the 2020 Olympics.
Fixed.
Oh you are so jaded. How could you ever believe the World Cup voting process was anything but honest?Lol

LA would most likely win the league in a single table format. Last year they would have won it and in 2009 they would have lost by one point.
I think by "EACH", he was pointing to NY, not LA.As a side note, because every team played each other team twice in a balanced schedule, the league is basically a single table for Supporter Shield purposes. Top points would be top of any single table format.

Balanced schedule may be gone next year though which makes Supporters Shield less valid in some ways.

Yeah, oops.

I have no idea what Chivas USA is doing. They have now passed on three players in the allocation process, two of which they could have signed and traded at worst in Benny and Adu. Today they skipped on the returning Sammy Ochoa. Seattle traded up to get the Fire's spot to pick him up. He is not a game changer but does give fat Sigi another piece for depth with the glut of games they have coming up.

Former U.S. Youth International Forward obtained through allocation.RENTON, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC has added former U.S. youth international forward Sammy Ochoa, 24, to the roster through Major League Soccer's allocation process, the team announced today. He is expected to join the team next week.Seattle obtained the Chicago Fire's No. 4 position in the allocation order in exchange for its natural third-round pick in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft.Ochoa signed with MLS earlier this week after spending the past five years at Mexico's Estudiantes Tecos in Guadalajara. He had trained with Sounders FC in June, and scored the lone goal in a 1-0 Reserve League win over the L.A. Galaxy on June 13.A member of Sigi Schmid's U.S. team at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Ochoa started three of the four matches in the tournament. He later was part of the U.S. U-23 National Team in the friendlies played prior to the 2008 Olympic Games."We're happy to have Sammy join our team because it gives us a little more depth at forward," said Schmid. "He did well when he was here on his trial. Now it's just a matter of getting him fit and getting his game legs and he could help us.""He's a good back-to-goal player and a good finisher around the box," Schmid added. "Those are qualities that he's had. In all his time in Mexico he was in and out of the lineup because they had so many head coaches so it was tough to establish a rhythm."Born in Mexico, Ochoa later moved to Riverside, Calif. and attended Riverside Poly High School. He is a U.S. citizen. Ochoa signed with Tecos in 2006. He made 27 appearances, scoring twice.Jesus Ochoa, Sammy's older brother, played for Schmid while with the Galaxy. He later played for Chivas USA.Sounders FC hosts the Columbus Crew on Saturday. Good stat from Opta today.

FC Dallas strikers have accounted for a whopping 4 goals all season. 7 other MLS teams defenders can top that.

It is amazing that they have been such a solid side in all competitions this year and so little production from the forwards.

Kyle Beckerman will not be on the team for the Costa Rica game due to wanting to play in an RSL game. Klinsmann gave the ok.

Probably works out since he was likely to only see action in one of the two US games any way.

I'm on Amtrak just outside Newark and we just went past Red Bull arena. Looks like a nice stadium. Quite large. Too bad the land around it looks like a dump.

And that's saying something considering I live in Baltimore.

If you look back a few pages there is an article someone posted. The stadium was the first part of a large development of that run down area. Some of the economic problems have slowed development but they still plan to build numerous items around there. I am surprised the stadium looked big from the outside (I have never seen it myself live) as it only holds 25k.

Is everyone else's FSC on dish network schedule fudged up? They're changing the channel number and there is nothing listed on who is playing tomorrow morning on either listing.

The stadium is gorgeous and it does look huge. It's in Harrison (I believe) which is not a nice area, but it's a soccer hotbed, and it's right next to Kearny, which prides itself on being Soccertown U.S.A. I've been to a few games there and it's a great experience.

So I wake up suddenly just after 6 am and figure I could watch Wolves pretty much live. Glad I did, my DVR never started. Son of a.... Drab game so far.

Yep. Woke up at 5:55. First half was an absolute crapfest. At half the announcer says, "if you're just waking up you haven't missed much." No #### Sherlock. Could have had an extra hour of sleep for all it was worth.

:lmao: at Wigan's Di Santo.

Teammate about ready to fire a shot at the goal, Di Santo just takes it away from him, dribbles back, stops, fires from about 5 feet out from the box and scores.

I could see in the replay that, even after he scored, his teammate was still like "WTF?"

Aston Villa woke up at about the 50 minute mark and put a lot of pressure on Wolves for about 20 minutes. The left wing in particular Agbanlahor just dominated for that stretch. Stearman at right back was possibly the worst player on the pitch if it wasn't for the complete absence of the Wolves midfield save Henry defensively. The center backs were solid save a couple runs past Johnson setting up quick crosses that Hennessy was forced to intercept. Hennessy show great anticipation all match. The ineptness of the midfield meant the disappearance of the forwards.McCarthy substituted in two full backs for his wing players with about 20 minutes to go and all of sudden O'Hara woke up in the middle and Wolves created some danger yet never connected with Fletcher or Doyle in any position to score. Earlier, Ward was serving up nice crosses but Hunt blew the best chance of the match. All in all, not a great debut game witnessing my new side, but I am sure they will take the point and be happy.

Well, ####.
The good thing for us is that Jarvis and Hunt both were playing opposite leg strength in an inside forward type of responsibility when attacking. I am not sure if that is normal though and obviously it wasn't working too well overall today.
