And it looks like Drogba is out cold after a collision with Norwich GK Ruddy. Looks bad.
Ruddy missed the punch on the cross and punched Drogba right in the head (unintentionally, I hope). Drogba was out before he hit the ground and fell horribly like a bellyflop on the field. They're putting him in the backboard now.

Chandler and Johnson both went the full 90 again today for their Bundesliga clubs

One interesting item about Klinsmann's roster is I think every single player on it is a regular at this time for their club side. That is something that almost never happened under Bradley for various reasons. not sure if it is just coincidence or it is something that Klinsmann is actively doing.

Tim Howard should be man of the match for Everton today. They could easily be down 0-3 0-4 to Blackburn. He's been all over the place, including a save on a PK.

Blackburn just complete missed ANOTHER PK. Jesus....they can't buy a goal and Everton getting a point out of this would be amazing.

Holy crap...the ref just called a PK on Blackburn in the 90th minute after a player jumped on top of Fellaini in the box after a long throw by Neville. Was a crap call but Arteta buries it!!!Huge ooooooof to Blackburn

HUGE 3 points for Everton

Jesus, Drogba was unconscious for ~30 minutes in the locker room.

Chelsea just tweeted that he has started to come around.

Liverpool look good to make a run this year.

I imagine Stevie G will come on for Henderson when fit. Adam and Downing look indispensable at this point. It's like they've been there for years. With Suarez on fire and Kuyt his usual self, they'll be tough to beat. Not sure how they're going to work Carroll in, but it looks like it doesn't really matter.

Lucas is dominating the HM role. His last two games have been stellar....picking up where he left off last season.

Oh, and.... ;)

I'm on Amtrak just outside Newark and we just went past Red Bull arena. Looks like a nice stadium. Quite large. Too bad the land around it looks like a dump. And that's saying something considering I live in Baltimore.
If you look back a few pages there is an article someone posted. The stadium was the first part of a large development of that run down area. Some of the economic problems have slowed development but they still plan to build numerous items around there. I am surprised the stadium looked big from the outside (I have never seen it myself live) as it only holds 25k.
The stadium is gorgeous and it does look huge. It's in Harrison (I believe) which is not a nice area, but it's a soccer hotbed, and it's right next to Kearny, which prides itself on being Soccertown U.S.A. I've been to a few games there and it's a great experience.
Totally agree- looks pretty big from the train... the canopy is uniform and uninterrupted (monolithic), so that lends to it looking a bit more "massive" than it actually is. Inside, it's very cozy- maybe too much so in the walkway/snack-bar/restroom area under the seats, where it gets to be a logjam before, after and at halftime. Aside from that, I absolutely love the stadium (minus their designing it without considering sun-angles and grass-growth).

I guess I completely missed Lucas not sucking last year or ever.TOtally agree about Adams and Downing. Carrol needs to be on a Bolton type of team that plays more direct and long to a target man- what I've seen of him on Liverpool has not been a good fit. But yeah- Liverpool has looked good... gotta say at this point that they'll push for top 4- but we'll see as the season grinds on and as they play the top teams.

How do you guys think Adams and Gerard will play together? I keep thinking of how high my expectations were for him and Lampard for England... wonder whether it'll work out different here with another dynamic central MF in the mix?

And Chelsea not exactly giving the most awe-inspiring performance, from the bits I saw- was doing Hurricane prep work through most of it.

The Carroll talk makes me think of the best thing about Liverpool this year. Even if he's not on top of his game, Liverpool will be fine. There are other options. In the last couple years, everyone had to be healthy and in form for Liverpool to have a chance. Now we have no Stevie, no Glen Johnson, an iffy Carroll and the team is still playing well.

IIRC, he hit his stride about Oct/Nov last year. Never sucked, but this level of play has been awesome.

Hopefully well ;) One thing that is GREAT about this group that was out there today is the versatility. No serious attack could come from the left the last few seasons. These guys are showing the ability to play anywhere. Henderson(no one here better use Hendo) and Adam scoring with their weaker foots was great. Downing has two good feet as does Gerrard. Move them around anywhere and it's going to be a nightmare for most teams.

Should be a lot less repeats on FSC starting next season.

Fox has acquired the rights to the Europa League for 3 years starting in 2012/2013 season. The firs season will have 205 games shown across the various fox networks with the vast majority on FSC.

Very cool.

Liverpool should've had about 5 today. Suarez jobbed on some PK calls.

I tried watching Serie A last year, but got bored. I'm going to try watching La Liga this year. I have Fox Soccer and GolTV. Spanish Primera is what I want to record on Gol? I see Real listed in a match which airs at 10pm EST with Zaragoza vs Real Madrid, but considering I don't know all the Spanish clubs, I'm not sure if this is "La Liga" or some other version of Spanish soccer... like the Carling cup, I guess.

I tried the same with Serie A last year and felt the same way. Great way to fall asleep on a Saturday afternoon after the Premier League matches.

Here is the La Liga fixtures so you can double check what you are watching. The link below shows the Madrid Zaragoza game starting at 2:00pmhttp://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer/laliga/fixtures

A season defining game for Dallas tonight

1) Dallas plays 45 minutes on Wednesday in Toronto and games gets postponed due to weather

2) Dallas plays a full 90 minutes on Thursday in Toronto

3) Dallas plays to a over flow capacity game in KC on Saturday at the leagues hottest team over the last month

4) KC jumps out to a 2 goal lead

5) Dallas pulls one back at the 69th minute

6) Dallas ties the score in the 88th minute

7) Dallas gets the winner deep into injury to pull off an extremely improbable win considering the circumstances.

Last two Dallas goals were on inch perfect crosses from Shea. He is playing at an exceptional level now. I would not be shocked if he gets the MVP this year, just brilliant stuff.

Just check out the la liga page on ESPN Soccernet. That will give you the gist of what's happening in la liga. The top flight is called "Primera" there. The big domestic cup is called la copa del Rey aka king's cup. "El clásico" is any game between Real Madrid and Barça. There's always bad blood between them but it's ratcheted up in the last year with Mourinho managing Real.

Typically, it's Barça and Real Madrid for the title every year. Valencia, Sevilla and Villarreal have pretty good squads. Athletic is very tough at home. Atlético de Madrid will break your heart if you pull for them.

Z Machine's la liga prediction:

Barça

Real

Sevilla

Atlético

Villarreal

Athletic

Valencia

Espanol

Betis

Racing

Málaga

Getafe

Zaragoza

Osasuna

Mallorca

Levante

Rayo

Real Soceidad

Gijon

Elche

Let's talk about Malaga. I do not have a La Liga team, and I like their purplish/pinkish uniforms. I just looked up their roster, expecting to have never heard of anyone, only to find that they do have a mildly impressive team - Ol' Horseface van Nistelrooy, Dutch international Joris Mathijsen, former Arsenal man Julio Baptista, Santi Cazorla, Martin Dimichelis, Jeremy Toulalan, and they're managed by Manuel Pellegrini.

Interesting stat from Seattle's 6-2 destruction of Columbus today.

Within 30 seconds Josh Gardner scored a goal and then immediately had an own goal. I know they don't keep any records on this but I bet that is some sort of MLS record.

fox soccer plus' free week isn't exactly making me want to pay for it. right now, they are showing crystal palace vs. blackpool ... while it has been a bit entertaining, it isn't exactly a great match.

Heath Pearce's spot on the latest US roster may be up for grabs. He hurt his hammy in the game against RSL and had to hobble off the field. Did not look good.

Malaga has rich Middle Eastern ownership. Most of those name players were part of a 60 million euro spending spree this offseason, and the owner has said that there's a lot more where that came from.Edit to add link

Love this attacking lineup for City with Dzeko, Aguero, Nasri, Silva all pushing forward.

Edit: Michael Dawson, that was some of the worst defending Ive seen this year!

Just looking at the Arsenal players' faces, I don't see any confidence. There's a bit of indifference and a good bit of fear from the younger players. I'm surprised Ashley Young hasn't eaten Carl Jenkinson alive yet; it's only a matter of time. You look at the United players, and they're upbeat, comfortable, confident...and I just don't see that from Arsenal yet. Still an exciting first 17 minutes though.

Jenkinson caught way upfield, Walcott has to cover defensively. Walcott gets in his face, Jenkinson clearly tells him to "#### off". Moments later, Djourou is beaten miserably (why is he still on the ####### team?) by Welbeck for a goal. Wenger shakes head in disgust.

Welbeck impressive again
The scariest thing, I think, is that United hasn't even looked good in the first 25 minutes.Walcott dragged down from behind in the box for an Arsenal PK. van Persie's shot saved by De Gea. He looks shaken. You know that's a bad thing when the team's captain and generally one of the more stoic, balanced players, is walking around with his head down.Ashley Young with an unstoppable shot and the wheels have fallen off in the 28th. Coquelin gives him too much space and Young makes him pay.
