Dempsey had a nice first half for Fulham today. Game is on TV. Fulham is up 1-0 at the half on the road against Odense.

Just saw the clip on Ives. A true striker's goal. Held off his run to stay onside, controlled the ball first touch, and finished in the corner. A real quality goal.Jozy scored again today for Alkamar in their Europa League game.

My linkyou guys need to give me things you want me to look for at the Ecuador game- I tend to obsess on the central MF and runs the forwards make.
German, dual citizenship.Danny Williams (Hoffenheim) german or us player in germany?

I think he plays for the same team as Fabian Johnson. He likely took Johnson's spot on the US roster after Johnson got hurt. Are all these guys products of US servicemen banging German chicks? Also helps to sport dreadlocks.JK, digging deep. I went with a team that got hosted by Hertha Berlin in the early 80s. They had a few US servicemen kids on the youth squad- but they all seemed pretty "American" to 13yo me.I think he plays for the same team as Fabian Johnson. Maybe you can see him play tonight.Man, a healthy Gooch would be huge for us.Still no Adu...![]()
I was hoping someone else saw this game to make sure my eyes were not deceiving me. I did feel encouraged though when the announcer gushed a bit over him towards the end of the game.Man, a healthy Gooch would be huge for us.

Any and all overlapping runs by the RB and LB. If they do overlap, can they get back into position quickly or can the defensive MF cover the space in the back line. Also, look for the amount of pressure put on the opposition in their half vis a vis how much they pit on the US.you guys need to give me things you want me to look for at the Ecuador game- I tend to obsess on the central MF and runs the forwards make.
Yeah that wasn't pretty. I was having 2010 Seitz era flashbacks on that run.I have a feeling you were sitting closer to Najar than anybody defending him on that 2nd DC goal.

Game was very entertaining. The atmosphere came across nicely on TV. The space available in that game was just sick especially when Phili attacked the right side of the field. The Najar goal was funny. To run 70 yards with the ball that easily was like he was radioactive. Farfans's assist was as nice as his goal. I know Freddy was not quite 100% but he did not look good. He had a chance to rip that game open numerous times but never got it done. Is Mwanga in the dog house?Fun game. That loss by DC was critical to teams like NY and Portland who are trying to sneak in the playoffs.Yeah that wasn't pretty. I used to follow Cameroon because- and I'm sure I've mentioned this a billion times already- I got a chance to play against them when I was in Germany with the NCal u-19 state team. I got megged about 60 times. Also got to have a drink with Roger Milla (I had no idea who he was) and talk about nuclear proliferation and Ronald Reagan along with my gb (who was also on my club team) who happened to be going to the Naval Academy the next year. We had different takes on the whole thing (I was on Milla's side... and I also spoke a smattering of HS french, so I was doing some translating). I hit the best shot of my life that game- dipping and bending into the upper V- that Thomas N'Kono, who was standing on the PK spot, took one springing step backwards into a massive leap to get to the upper right corner and punch over the top. The game, that shot and save, and the drinks with Milla- massive highlights of my life (Cameroon game, Kid #1 birth, high score on Missile Command, Wedding, other stuff, kid #2 birth)Pretty good article on the challenges facing Bradley in Egypt. Kind of interesting because I have never had a tie to African soccer. This gives me some one to follow during WCQ

If you look back at the video at roughly the time the keeper catches it, there are about 7 players with in 25 yards of the goal including I think both the left back and the left half, which is why the whole side was open.It was a very nice outlet by Hamid who recognized the space instantly and then Najar really ate up the space quickly, pulling away from defenders who were chasing while he was dribbling.More than the not closing down for the Union was the fact that there was no one on the left side of the pitch for almost that entire run. It was a good move and finish to beat the lone defender and keeper, not to mention the speed and stamina to get there, but there's really no reason that there shouldn't have been a left sided player there occupying some space to slow the counter attack down.Obviously the left back made an error in not challenging Najar before he got into the box, but that was pretty poor defense for a counter. Was Philly pressing hard at the time?

Poor kid twoDo we really think Dolo will be where we need him to be in 2014? This is only my opinion but I don't think a player has the ability to develop at the national team level. The national team should represent the best we can offer at any given time. A player needs to develop at club level, and through his play at club level, force his way into the national team lineup. (Brek Shea is a great example of this). If and when we have players at club level who are playing better than Boca and Dolo at their respective positions, then they should be replaced. Looking at the roster, and knowing that Chandler will likely be playing left back, the only other candidate to replace Dolo is Spector.Do we really think Dolo will be where we need him to be in 2014? agree. and add that the players need to prove it in USMNT camp, too- not just at club.and WCQ is no place for developing anything other than getting the results to qualify- which goeas back to andy's point. This is only my opinion but I don't think a player has the ability to develop at the national team level. A ridiculous straight red to Rodwell. He got to the ball at least a half second before Suarez collapsed. What a crap way for the ref to alter the dynamics of the game only 25 minutes in.
horrible.nobody is saying that, I'm talking about now in friendlies.Dolo is likely going to be subpar by 2014and WCQ is no place for developing anything other than getting the results to qualify- which goeas back to andy's point.
Seems like JK has been trotting out new guys for the friendlies... or did I totally miss your point? I understand his question, i just don't know how to address it besides what I already posted. He is predicting that in 2014, Dolo, due to age, may not be up to snuff and if so, they should they start replacing him now.Seems like JK has been trotting out new guys for the friendlies... or did I totally miss your point? My main guess as to why there's no Adu is that the Union and Sounders have a league make-up game from the summer that weekend and they're the only MLS teams playing. Of course his form isn't all that great right now so he may not have been selected anyway, but the Union's game is crucial for the playoffs so I could see Novak asking JK to pass on Freddy for next weekendMan, a healthy Gooch would be huge for us.Still no Adu...![]()
How did he look in the 2nd?Danny Williams is starting today against Bayern Munich and looks pretty good. They are holding a very good side still level 0-0 early in the second half.
