they were talking about this on local Boston sports radio yesterday. The local fans seem obsessed that Liverpool is going to be the ruination of the Red Sox. Just another black mark on the sport of soccer in the eyes of the neutrals in my sad region of the country.
Two for one deal? Awesome!Edit: What he said.
Just wait until Liverpool rips up the Fenway grass and some fat Red Sox baseball player pulls a hamstring and is out 75 months on the DL :)

24) 52 Paul Bravo

I played state-ball with that guy. I knew he played MLS, had no idea he was so successful. Funny- like my club-mate, Peter Woodring who ended up playing for Hamburg- Paul wasn't a guy you'd look at in the youth level and think too much of. Obviously grew into his game as an adult.

He even has 4 caps and a goal for the US. Never a great player but more than good enough to hang on and contribute for 6 seasons in MLS and was an all star a couple of years in Colorado.

Ah- good stuff.Peter got a call-up or two as well, IIRC. I know I saw him play a friendly vs Brazil (only available on Telemundo of course) where he made a run down the wing and put the ball back to pk spot... something our club team practiced 80billion times a week. I actually cried watching him play- equal parts pure admiration/pride in seeing my pal out there, and equal parts misery that it wasn't me.

I saw Peter play a lot in 1996 as he played for the Revs that year.

Chelsea bids for Battersea PowerStation. Seems like a pretty cool idea. Don't really want to think of Chelsea everytime I put on Animals though.
The site seems cool and there's a nice mock up on twitter (I don't have the link now), but good luck with the CPO.
Pass that along if you find it again por favor. Maybe it will give The Quarry a run for its money in awesomeness.
This isn't quite it, but it's very close.http://1-ps.googleusercontent.com/x/www.sportskeeda.com/liveuploads.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/550x335xAsDPVkXCMAA_Y29.jpglarge.jpeg.pagespeed.ic.lhUMdyINjP.jpg

The Quarry looks awesome.

Today is round 34 of the Bundesliga :kicksrock:

There are still a few things up for grabs.

Dortmund, Bayern and Schalke have all secured group level entry into Champions League and Gladbach has secured playoff round entry.

Leverkusen and Stuttgart are in for Europa, but their entry stage is in the air. Leverkusen is a point ahead and is currently looking at group stage with Stuttgart at playoff stage. They could switch.

Hannover currently are in position to enter Europa at 3rd round qualifying at 45 points. But, Wolfsburg at 44, Bremen and Nürnberg at 42 have chances.

Kaiserslautern have secured straight relegation. Köln is in the relegation playoff position with Hertha Berlin two points back in a straight relegation slot.

I still want him to come to the nyrb

The Arsenal / Norwich game had a really exciting last 15 minutes.

Arsenal can miss out on CL quite easily if they are unlucky. Spurs and Newcastle have good chances although the Newcastle / City game is the big one tomorrow.

I didn't feel confident before today's match, and it looks like I was right. Also, my DVR didn't record. <_<
great game to watch for a neutral. thoroughly desrved result, imo. good to see NC come out and play vs Arsenal instead of the usual cynical bunker lesser teams take at Emirates.I'll admit to being a huge Ramsey fan before the leg-break... but he just seems off since. and damn this squad could use a healthy Wilshire. The MF just wasnt clicking for ####, on either side of the ball.

I think he was one of the team's best players in the first half of the season, but I agree that he has been way off lately. Obviously I didn't see today's match.

Speaking of Euros, would there be any interest in a Euro fantasy league like the one I ran for the World Cup in 2010? I would be willing to run it again, provided someone can help me (I know Derek helped last time, not sure if he has time this summer). The rosters would need to be smaller but the premise would be the same.

Just a quick question. Why do it manually instead of using what is likely to be numerous free online sites? Is it the type of league (draft) you want to do?

Specifically the draft, yes. If there are customizable sites out there that allow you to draft, set scoring requirements, etc., we'll probably use them. I think the World Cup league went pretty well (of course I'd think that, I won it).

So sick of Reina giving up easy goals this season. If it's not right at his hands, i have no faith in him saving.

That said, Enrique got toasted

ok I would be interested in participating and helping. You lead to set up and point me in the proper direction and I will have the time to do the crunching every day if we do it all manual.

After playing Barca for 180 minutes it must look to Chelsea like Liverpool are playing in slow motion. Which they pretty much are, I guess. Apparently the game plan is to pass it between the left back and the left mid for 90 minutes?

Getting beat near post from that angle is pretty bad. He does seem to go through bad spells. He had one at the beginning of the season as well.

I might be interested in defending my title if that's what you mean. :coffee:

So....anyone playing this summer?

Our season starts tomorrow, and I think we're in trouble. We've only had 1 practice so far, which consisted of 6 of us playing pickup with random guys in the park. This is our second season in the "league one" of our local soccer pyramid. We tied for 11th out of 14 last year after being promoted after the summer 2010 season. We finished above relegation, but due to some major shakeups, the competition looks a lot stiffer this year. The teams who finished 10th and 13th folded altogether, and 14th was sent down. One team dropped all the way from the premier league into our league after a winless season last year. We play them tomorrow night, and I have a feeling it might be a bloodbath.

Hope there are some more guys with great YouTube videos out there to acquire in the summer, because Liverpool really sucks right now.

I play indoor so my season is over. It's way too hot out here in the Summer to be beating it in the heat for 90 minutes. I generally just play with my kids and help coach a bit.

Carrol is all over the place and Drogba has taken to flopping around feigning injuries again. He really needs to mix it up a bit though. I don't think anyone is falling for the groin thing anymore.

 yeah, it's the opposite here. Why aren't your winter seasons outdoors? I actually didn't play at all this winter indoors. I'm starting to get butterflies a full 30-ish hours ahead of gametime.

I don't know if that's a goal or not (doesn't really look like it on the one replay angle, but who knows), but Carroll may have been able to punch it in if he didn't immediately start celebrating.
