 at the announcers gushing about how amazing Greece getting out of a group full of mediocre teams is. They're likely getting Germany next. Winning that would be something.
Or Denmark. Tomorrow's games are going to be awesome to watch live. Really pissed I'm going to miss them. There's no DVR'ing anything like that either.

Watching the last 20 or so minutes of both games knowing that one goal from Poland or Russia would send somebody else home wasn't too bad.

It was fantastic.

I had Russia and Greece, in that order.

Excited for today. I'll have Germany v Denmark on the tv and Netherlands v Portugal on the laptop.

If Germany wins the group then the match against Greece will be the Euro Bailout Cup.

Let's get some picks in for today's games.

Denmark 2 - Germany 2

Netherlands 4 - Portugal 1

Too little, too late for Holland. Portugal, suck it.

I just got a chance to finish up the Russia-Greece game and while Russia is the better team Greece really deserved that particular match. They got hosed on the penalty and had the best chance at another goal.

I honestly have know idea why there are five referees. The head referee calls everything but offsides. I know they are all connected with headphones, but you can see that the decisions are made instantaneously even if the view is sub-par. It makes no sense.

Some juicy matchups this afternoon. Would be an amazing turnaround if Holland advances after losing their first two but they actually have a fighting chance.

Holland has looked terrible the last 30 minutes. Noone working to do the hard work and regain possession. So much firepower on the pitch for them all going to waste.

Portugal on the other hand has looked dangerous moving forward and has controlled the midfield.

What an abysmal tournament all-around for the Netherlands. Robben and Sneijder were, frankly, terrible and van Persie was largely invisible. Wow.

Eta - damn auto correct

Really think the Dutch problem was lack of a central midfield. The gap between the offense and defense was immense all day and there was no one showing inside. It made build up play impossible and left the only switch of flanks being long cross field passes.

De Jong sucks. He wasn't even doing the heavy lifting defensively. The second goal was all on him imo - he was too deep and reacted slowly to the ball being loose. Then ran towards the ball with no shot at getting there leaving the back exposed on the counter. Honestly that's when you do the professional foul but he didn't even bother. Van Bommel's decline hurt them more than anything because it exposes De Jong for who he truly is, a defender trying to play midfield.

seriously, though, why 2-2 and not any tie?
Tiebreaker is head-to-head, then goal differential in games amongst tied teams, then total goals in games amongst tied teams.Italy-Spain and Italy-Croatia both ended 1-1, so Spain-Croatia ending 2-2 (or 3-3 or any other higher draw) would give those two the tiebreaker.

The tiebreakers are:1) Higher number of points obtained in the matches played between the teams in question2) Superior goal difference resulting from the matches played between the teams in question3) Higher number of goals scored in the matches played between the teams in question4) Superior goal difference in all group matchesItaly has 2 goals total against Spain and Croatia; both of those teams have one against them. If they tie 0-0, then Italy's 2 goals would be enough to win the third tiebreaker. If they tie 1-1, it would fall to the fourth tiebreaker, which Italy would have a chance at if they score enough against Ireland. But if they tie at 2-2 or higher, both Spain and Croatia would win the third tiebreaker against Italy, no matter what the result in their game.
