Can someone provide a rough translation for me? From what little I can make out this sounds like it is related to a combined Concacaf South America tournament we have long hoped for.

@ESPN_JorgeRamos: Copa America extraordinaria x 100 años se esta programando en conjunto entre #CONMEBOL & #CONCACAF. Si esta #Mexico o no... NO cambia nada"

More talk of a Pan-American Cup

USA To Host 2016 Pan American Cup Featuring Best Of CONCACAF, South America - Report

May 25 7:33p by Ryan Rosenblatt

Read More: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, United States, Uruguay

Rumors of CONCACAF and CONMEBOL teaming up for a tournament featuring the best teams from the Americas could soon become reality. According to ESPN Deportes' Jorge Ramos, the two confederations have agreed to put on a Pan American Cup in 2016 that will be hosted by the United States.

Initially it was thought that CONMEBOL would invite the best from CONCACAF to play in a 16-team Copa America, but that appears to be off the table. Instead, CONMEBOL will continue to play Copa America for the South American championship and CONCACAF will continue to play the Gold Cup for the championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Then, in the year after those two tournaments, there will be a Pan American Cup with the best of the two confederations.

The idea of a 16-team tournament with the best teas that the Americas have to offer is tantalizing for soccer fans in the region. While there is no doubt that the South American teams are superior to the CONCACAF ones, putting some of the bigger teams like the United States and Mexico up against the best of South America in a serious tournament will be a joy.

Copa America is a brilliant tournament, but gets little attention outside of South America. The Gold Cup is largely ignored even in North and Central America. Right now, there are two major international tournaments -- the World Cup and Euro. A Pan American Cup has the potential to resonate not just in the Americas, but around the world as another major tournament.

To this point, there is no confirmation that the tournament is a go and in world soccer it is dangerous to go with anything before it is confirmed, but Ramos is often reliable and this tournament makes too much sense. Putting the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and the rest of the top, most popular teams in the Americas in a tournament that is hosted by the U.S., with its huge population, stadiums and corporations is too big of a potential moneymaker to pass up.
My linkJorge Ramos is calling it "confirmed" on his twitter:

Confirmado: COPA PANAMERICANA 2016 de Selecciones #CONCACAF vs #CONMEBOL. La primer edicion se jugara en #USA . Via @ESPN_JorgeRamos

No doubt. Smaller leagues than Wales already exist in Europe - the Faroe Islands field an international side and, IIRC, used to have only two teams in their league. Not sure what they have now.
I am fascinated by sport in smaller nations like this so I looked up the Faroe Islands Football Federation and they have 40 teams with a population of only 50,000. Amazing. Premier League champ BC36 Torshavn just drew Northern Islands' Linfield in the first qualifying round (a home-and-home) of the 2013 Champions League. If I could find those games to watch, I'm silly enough to do it.
For some reason, I have had a strange fascination with the Faroe Islands international team over the last few years. Not a joke. Welcome to the club.
:hifive: Beat the filthy Northern Irish!

Not a huge surprise but Becks was not picked for Olympics.

Leaks have come out that Britain's three overage players will be Welsh stars Ryan Giggs and Craig Bellamy and English defender Micah Richards.

This will probably be the biggest international team stage Giggs ever got to play on. I don't think Wales ever qualified for WC, Euro or any youth WC's in his time.

Extremely happy for Giggs. Just an amazing player who will probably get underrated historically for not having those sublime moments on the big international stage that lesser players from bigger countries get.

Bert van Marwijk takes the fall for Holland's poor performance and resigns four years before the end of his contract.

Let's all pray to the Gods of the Round Ball that we get a better game today than we saw yesterday. I may have doomed us, having just placed a small bet on over 2.5 goals at +140.

I am expecting Luuuurve to revert to the normal German lineup today. Will be heading out soon to join a bunch of strangers at a local watering hole for the afternoon.

Here are the two lineups

Germany XI v Italy: Neuer; Boateng, Hummels, Badstuber, Lahm; Khedira, Schweinsteiger; Kroos, Ozil, Podolski; Gomez.

Never thought I'd say this, but I love the way Italy is playing.Still like to see Germany come back and win though.
Italy have been fun to watch all tournament. Might be the first time I have ever felt this way in all these years of following them. I think the fact that they finally don't have all time greats playing in defense forces them to actually play offensively.

I feel like this always happens to Germany in Semis...they are eventually outclassed via skill to the top sides.

It's like I've seen this match 10 times before.
